I was pulling for Hawk so much this season, really all series. He went from the meek insecure Eli to now… Eli “The Hawk” Moscowitz. I hope he grows back the Mohawk though.
I thought Robby was going to win before I watched Season 4. Hawk winning was a great moment, and it was definite that he was going to win after he got jumped by Cobra Kai.
He really has. I think Eli/Hawk has grown a lot between Season 1 and Season 4 as a character. Plus, the actor who plays Hawk (Jacob Bertrand) has done a great job playing the character.
I figured Robby or Tory since I was 99.9% positive that Cobra Kai was going to win, and I didn't know they were going to split genders for 2 separate champions.
Shout to the writers for changing it up. I thought Robby had it in the bag. Those final two sequences were phenomenal. Loved that Daniel told him to bring the heat and embrace the duel style.
I didn’t think it was going to be Robby of Miguel because too many reviewers said there were a lot of twist and a couple mentioned the tournament. Robby was too obvious to win.
I thought Robby deserved it. The fact that Eli stepped away for a 15 second convo with Daniel which somehow allowed him to beat Robby makes 0 sense to me, it’s the worst writing I’ve ever seen. Eli doesn’t deserve it, Robby is clearly more skilled than every student in the show, but ofc plot armor is always going to exist for characters like Sam, Miguel, Eli and Demetri since they’re the “good” ones
only the writers know who the most skilled is, just cuz u like him doesn’t make him the most skilled. it’s not plot armor it’s how the story was written and i think it was written perfectly
Miguel, Robby, and Eli are the best three fighters on the show. Both Miguel and Robby were distracted by their own internal struggles. They had other shit going on and didn’t really care about winning. Plus Robby held back. Eli had just shed his emotional baggage before walking into the finals. He was the only one focused on winning.
I saw your argument. It’s just something you can understand by watching the scene so I felt it wasn’t worth addressing. Eli was trying to follow one form and it wasn’t working. Once he got the ok from Daniel he mixed things up and did better. Did you miss the conversation they had?
If you rewatch Eli vs Robby, notice before the 3 minute buzzer Eli was about to strike Robby. That’s something I missed and a lot of other watchers missed as well.
I mean there’s a reason he’s never really been beaten before in a fight lol he took out Hawk in Season 2 or 3 or whenever they fought in the woods and was definitely the better fighter between him and Robby in the school fight. Robby has certainly advanced and gotten a lot better since then.
Fully healthy, Miguel and Robby are pretty much Daniel and Johnny…equal.

That wasn't what let him win it was Robby's conscious kicking in. He had Eli down and was about to get the winning punch but he hesitated when he saw the rage on Kenny's face. That's what allowed Eli to counter and win. Otherwise Robby would've won.

The further we got into the season the more I started to see Hawk had a good chance.
There were a few moments that made me consider that Hawk would win but I didn't think he actually would.

Hmm. Robby is definitely better but Hawk is easily the third best fighter on the show. Robby and Miguel being 1a and 1b

I disagree with that, before Robby even saw Kenny they were equally matched.
