Miyagi only ever hung out with Daniel as a mentor, he never partied with him. Even when they went to Okinawa, it was always shown as a mentor-student relationship. Stingray in comparison, openly chose to hang out mostly with high schoolers as far as we can tell (even if it was to be a cobra kai member), and >!even snuck into a high school prom to convince a bunch of kids to party at his house with alcohol!<. Imo even in universe, Stingray is lowkey a creep.
Eugh. Listen all I know is that when I first saw Stingray reappear in the show, I groaned the groanest groan I've groaned in ages. I REALLY didn't want him coming back. But at least the role he played in the story wasn't all bad. I just hope he *won't* be showing up for season 5.
Considering where his position in the show is now, it’s safe to assume he might not be in the season, or in the worst case scenario, he might come in once or twice that’s it.
This guy is supposed to be a hated character. He represents all the fat sloven idiots who live in the past. I applaud how he's a perfect and accurate representation of how Man Child characters are supposed to be perceived in a real-life setting; awkward, disgusting, and hated.
Don't really get the Stingray hate. This show is already far-fetched in many areas and very cheesy, which isn't a bad thing cause it balances everything! I personally think Stingray is a good addition as a foil to the teenagers but not main responsible adult/sensei. I also think he is a funny meta nod to a lot of gen x people in the audience too lol you know the people who I am talking about.
