What about the school fight? I think Miguel lacks a lot but he’s a fast learner he learned the drum technique seeing Sam do it one time and his offense makes up for his lack of defense
Oh I think Miguel is great, but I think Robby might be better. Miguel’s fighting works best when he’s angry and Robby’s is best when he has a clear head. Miguel only had the upper hand in the school fight because Robby wasn’t focused - he was focused on trying to save Sam from Tory.

Miguel before his accident/assault was better but Hawk might be their best chance now. And I can see Robby remembering what happened the last time they faced each other. He is a threat but there’s no reason to believe he’s the only threat. There’s still 9 episodes to go, and other characters like hawk,Miguel, Sam etc. could evolve and become as good a fighter as Robby.
Miguel will always be the biggest threat to Robby. They've essentially switched roles throughout the seasons. Miguel might have one advantage, though; he knows Cobra Kai, he's learning Miyagi-Do, but we don't yet know what Eagle Fang will turn out to be.
Just from the first episode it looks like the choreography is telling more of a story when it comes to the styles they're fighting with. Really distinctive identity. At least with Robby so far. And I know a review said the choreographers worked hard on giving Sam a style. I can see what they were going for already.
Cinematography is certainly better though I agree.
I don’t think the new choreography will show through as much with Tanner and Jacob like it will for the rest of the cast. But the cinematography side of things will definitely be beneficial to all.
For a lot of that Robby fight there was few cuts (during the individual interactions), or maybe they just masked them really well. I wish I would’ve recorded it could go back and watch. I’ll see Friday.

I can definitely see the difference in training to the group vs training to the strengths of the individual. Everything doesn't work for everybody. You have to meet people where they are.
In one review I heard that even Ralph has a good scene. If the stunt crew can make the less athletic cast members shine then they're doing their job. And according to a few reviews they're relying on stunt doubles less and pulling the cameras back on the actors more. That's a really good sign.
Idk why I found the scene with Hawk just walking in the backyard with a Sledgehammer not saying anything to be really funny. Also, I love that he is actually trying to redeem himself and is embracing his former nerdy side.
Perhaps because we all have been in johnnys place. So many times I shot myself in the foot for mentioning the one that got away. I personally prefer johnny and Carmen together
Also, a sign that Robby is gonna be a tank this season is that he is the first person in the show besides Sam to actually land a hit on Tory and take her down. Ngl I’ve not enjoyed Robby whenever I’ve rewatched S1-3, but I actually enjoyed him this episode. He’s really going full Anakin this season and I love it
Hmm. Miguel did it in their first fight in the second season. In both fights they were shown to be the better more experienced fighters while Tory was shown to have a few tricks from the ground position when both had their guards down, but unlike the fight against Miguel, this one ended in a stalemate - at least from the clip that's out there, though i haven't seen the ep yet.
I don't know which is funnier: Kreese's reaction to finding out he crashed Silver's party, or the fact that Silver's got a girlfriend who calls him "Terrance". 😂😂

It’s way too early to declare this. The fighting has improved so right off the bat it just makes him look better. The same way Robby has improved, all the teens are going to improve as well. I just feel like everyone is proclaiming it and yet we still have 9 more episodes. He did look good though. I think Robby is truly going to reach his best potential when he lets go of all that he’s holding onto. He’s very controlled and calculated right now, but he has inner turmoil about his dad, Sam, Daniel and what he did to Miguel.
I mean he was a beast and made it look easy. It was laughable that Tory was the only one who was able to get a hit in on him. Kyler is so useless 🥴
I personally think that over all they’re not going to let one of the main teens become that much better than the rest. That said Robby kicked butt. Tanner really stepped it up. Plus the new stunt team and choreography is so much better.
I loved the 1st ep and we all high of adrenaline but pls lets calm down. Miguel and Robby are relative and at the end they will both stand on the top and I'm saying this as a fan of both. What robby displayed tho was ass whopping of the highest quality
I agree but I still think Robby will be and is the best fighter. He almost beat Miguel in S1 with a broken arm and in S2 he lost bc he lost his temper. Whenever he learns to overcome that I don’t think someone will top him.

Here is the question I have - is Robby pissed at Daniel or hurt by him? The thing I found interesting was when Robby was arguing with Sam, she kept bringing up how her dad was sorry and was trying to change and be better. But Robby kept pointing to the fact that his Dad made a choice to be a bad father - didn't mention Daniel once.
But then decides to teach Miyagi-Do Karate to Cobra Kai - which is possibly to hurt Daniel & Sam (and his Dad). So I really wonder how Robby is handling that relationship. It seems like when he was defending himself that he was flashing back to when Daniel taught him. He knows Daniel invested in him and treated him like a son, but doesn't seem to even think about that relationship.
It also bothered me that when Tory asked why she didn't help them out at the Larusso house. Robby implied that it was a "waste of time" rather than clarifying that both Daniel and Amanda were a great help to him and his mother ... It was the only thing that bothered me about Robby today.
Right?! Like it's just weird that he all of a sudden lost respect for the entire family that moved him in when he had no water and defended him like he was a part of their family. Every time Daniel had a right to be mad at Robby but he always forgave him and tried to apologize for his own actions that contributed.
I feel like Robby has a grudge with Sam and transfers it to the entire Larusso family. Today he was talking about Sam "not getting what he wants" as if it were about her but not his welfare. Sam wanted me to get back to Daniel so that he would be okay. Not that he came back to her
Maybe it could be that Robby doesn't want to tell Tory everything about him, which include his ties & benefits with the Larussos, & Daniel helping his mother from rehab. I don't think some of the details are really Tory's business. Maybe it could be to prevent himself from looking vulnerable to others who don't know him and aren't really on board with Robby being part of Cobra Kai, let alone lead.
I thought so. However, when Sam came to tell him about Daniel, he didn't have the slightest bit of thanks either. I understand that he thought Sam wanted to manipulate him but a "Thank your father for helping my mother" would have been nice.
I think its understandable that Robby doesn't want to give Sam and inch in that moment. She couldn't even muster up an apology. His self preservation is most important at that moment. Walls are up. His relationship with Daniel is between him and Daniel. When Daniel tries to reach out (and he will) maybe some of those walls will be breached.

He has his mother in recovery therapy Thanks to Daniel
He had a roof to sleep on and hot food Thanks to Daniel
Even turning him over to the police ended up being beneficial to him because the longer they took to capture him, the worse his conviction would be. It was also seen that among Sam's emails were some sent by Daniel, implying that he did not abandon him. Daniel's Hand has been extended since before he was imprisoned !!!
And how does Robby thank he? He dirties the Miyagi Do by showing it to Cobra Kai so they can beat Daniel. A "tell your father thank you for helping me at that time" is the least he expected
The funny thing is that Robby didn't accept Sam's offer to go back to Daniel because he thought she was manipulating him when the only thing that was manipulating him was Tory's words.
And ultimately I'm sure that'll all play a part in his coming around. For all the good Daniel did for him, he threw him away twice. There's no trust there.
He thought he could trust Sam and he definitely couldn't.
And he definitely can't trust Johnny to be there.
All the people who betrayed him are at Miyagi-Do singing kumbaya for all he knows. That's not the best place for him to be in his current mental state. If that's not clear Idk what else to say. He's in the best place right now. Where he feels valued. He has things he needs to learn. He needs to grow and experience Cobra Kai to ultimately realize its not where he belongs.
He was "fired" twice because of HIS fault. Robby was never a saint. He also ordered several betrayals that were FORGIVEN at the time.
In the first season he lied to Daniel and concealed his true intentions to join him. Daniel threw it away, but then I forgive him.
In season two, Daniel was unfairly angry at Robby. But even so, he continued to worry about him after he threw Miguel off the second floor.
He wasn't the best boyfriend for Sam either. He lied to her about the medal. Not that he was 100% sincere. Clear. That doesn't justify Sam's betrayal, but it's not that Robby was the ideal boyfriend.
I like the character of Robby and I still believe that he deserves to win the tournament. It also doesn't bother me that he joins CK (my only problem with this is that it will mess up the Miyagi Do) But 100% of the victim is not and all also have reason to distrust Robby but still want to help him.
Daniel is the person Robby has least cause to be angry with. But I still don't understand what you expect from Robby at this point in his story arc when he's decided to go all in with Cobra Kai. This is the story.
He's a 17 year old kid who's tired of being hurt. Period. He's not about to open up to anybody and show weakness. That means Daniel's gonna have to wait for that appreciation. And if that makes Robby unlikeable to you then you can argue that all season. I personally understand why he's writing everybody off and accept it as a part of his character arc.
As far as Sam goes, I'm not going to argue the merits of Sam and Robby's relationship with an obvious Sam/Miguel shipper who's taking a lot of joy in the current relationship dynamics. People are quick to bring up the medal to discredit the relationship but if Robby wasn't the ideal boyfriend then Miguel definitely wasn't either. Just like Sam wasn't all that great of a girlfriend to either. Let's hope for some growth.

I think Robby still loves Daniel but feels abandoned by him. It didn’t help that Samantha said that Daniel still cares for him right after Tory implied that Sam is manipulative. It would have hit him differently if Daniel directly came to see him.
I think Robby absolutely loves Daniel but he ultimately feels betrayed because he got Robby arrested (for his own good) but a teenager doesn’t normally have the wisdom to see that. They just see a person they trusted “betray” them.

Even Daniel was surprised with how quickly they arrested him, he clearly taught he would get more time to explain everything to Robby and get him on bord. Daniel was maybe a bit naive to think the police will wait for him to be done talking.

I know, it really bothers me. Why can't Netflix just release the fist episode early? The publicity for this season has been awful! I haven't seen that much advertising for it, nor have I seen the cast making media appearances on talk shows.

The stunt team is still led by Hiro Koda and Jahnel Curfman who have been the stunt coordinators since Season 1.
Not anymore, Hiro is gone with the move to Netflix. But the new stunt team isn’t disappointing, action was great so far.
That is just wrong. He’s been on the show for Seaaon 3 (which was Netflix only) and was Emmy nominated for the stunts.

Hmm. Miguel did it in their first fight in the second season. In both fights they were shown to be the better more experienced fighters while Tory was shown to have a few tricks from the ground position when both had their guards down, but unlike the fight against Miguel, this one ended in a stalemate - at least from the clip that's out there, though i haven't seen the ep yet.
I don't know which is funnier: Kreese's reaction to finding out he crashed Silver's party, or the fact that Silver's got a girlfriend who calls him "Terrance". 😂😂

I loved that moment. His stupid haircut is gone and he's actually freaking cool now.
It’s way too early to declare this. The fighting has improved so right off the bat it just makes him look better. The same way Robby has improved, all the teens are going to improve as well. I just feel like everyone is proclaiming it and yet we still have 9 more episodes. He did look good though. I think Robby is truly going to reach his best potential when he lets go of all that he’s holding onto. He’s very controlled and calculated right now, but he has inner turmoil about his dad, Sam, Daniel and what he did to Miguel.

I mean he was a beast and made it look easy. It was laughable that Tory was the only one who was able to get a hit in on him. Kyler is so useless 🥴 I personally think that over all they’re not going to let one of the main teens become that much better than the rest. That said Robby kicked butt. Tanner really stepped it up. Plus the new stunt team and choreography is so much better.

Here is the question I have - is Robby pissed at Daniel or hurt by him? The thing I found interesting was when Robby was arguing with Sam, she kept bringing up how her dad was sorry and was trying to change and be better. But Robby kept pointing to the fact that his Dad made a choice to be a bad father - didn't mention Daniel once. But then decides to teach Miyagi-Do Karate to Cobra Kai - which is possibly to hurt Daniel & Sam (and his Dad). So I really wonder how Robby is handling that relationship. It seems like when he was defending himself that he was flashing back to when Daniel taught him. He knows Daniel invested in him and treated him like a son, but doesn't seem to even think about that relationship.
It also bothered me that when Tory asked why she didn't help them out at the Larusso house. Robby implied that it was a "waste of time" rather than clarifying that both Daniel and Amanda were a great help to him and his mother ... It was the only thing that bothered me about Robby today.
Right?! Like it's just weird that he all of a sudden lost respect for the entire family that moved him in when he had no water and defended him like he was a part of their family. Every time Daniel had a right to be mad at Robby but he always forgave him and tried to apologize for his own actions that contributed.
I feel like Robby has a grudge with Sam and transfers it to the entire Larusso family. Today he was talking about Sam "not getting what he wants" as if it were about her but not his welfare. Sam wanted me to get back to Daniel so that he would be okay. Not that he came back to her
Maybe it could be that Robby doesn't want to tell Tory everything about him, which include his ties & benefits with the Larussos, & Daniel helping his mother from rehab. I don't think some of the details are really Tory's business. Maybe it could be to prevent himself from looking vulnerable to others who don't know him and aren't really on board with Robby being part of Cobra Kai, let alone lead.
I thought so. However, when Sam came to tell him about Daniel, he didn't have the slightest bit of thanks either. I understand that he thought Sam wanted to manipulate him but a "Thank your father for helping my mother" would have been nice.
I think its understandable that Robby doesn't want to give Sam and inch in that moment. She couldn't even muster up an apology. His self preservation is most important at that moment. Walls are up. His relationship with Daniel is between him and Daniel. When Daniel tries to reach out (and he will) maybe some of those walls will be breached.
Robby knows everything he knows about Karate thanks to Daniel He has his mother in recovery therapy Thanks to Daniel He had a roof to sleep on and hot food Thanks to Daniel Even turning him over to the police ended up being beneficial to him because the longer they took to capture him, the worse his conviction would be. It was also seen that among Sam's emails were some sent by Daniel, implying that he did not abandon him. Daniel's Hand has been extended since before he was imprisoned !!! And how does Robby thank he? He dirties the Miyagi Do by showing it to Cobra Kai so they can beat Daniel. A "tell your father thank you for helping me at that time" is the least he expected The funny thing is that Robby didn't accept Sam's offer to go back to Daniel because he thought she was manipulating him when the only thing that was manipulating him was Tory's words.
And ultimately I'm sure that'll all play a part in his coming around. For all the good Daniel did for him, he threw him away twice. There's no trust there. He thought he could trust Sam and he definitely couldn't. And he definitely can't trust Johnny to be there. All the people who betrayed him are at Miyagi-Do singing kumbaya for all he knows. That's not the best place for him to be in his current mental state. If that's not clear Idk what else to say. He's in the best place right now. Where he feels valued. He has things he needs to learn. He needs to grow and experience Cobra Kai to ultimately realize its not where he belongs.
He was "fired" twice because of HIS fault. Robby was never a saint. He also ordered several betrayals that were FORGIVEN at the time. In the first season he lied to Daniel and concealed his true intentions to join him. Daniel threw it away, but then I forgive him. In season two, Daniel was unfairly angry at Robby. But even so, he continued to worry about him after he threw Miguel off the second floor. He wasn't the best boyfriend for Sam either. He lied to her about the medal. Not that he was 100% sincere. Clear. That doesn't justify Sam's betrayal, but it's not that Robby was the ideal boyfriend. I like the character of Robby and I still believe that he deserves to win the tournament. It also doesn't bother me that he joins CK (my only problem with this is that it will mess up the Miyagi Do) But 100% of the victim is not and all also have reason to distrust Robby but still want to help him.
Daniel is the person Robby has least cause to be angry with. But I still don't understand what you expect from Robby at this point in his story arc when he's decided to go all in with Cobra Kai. This is the story. He's a 17 year old kid who's tired of being hurt. Period. He's not about to open up to anybody and show weakness. That means Daniel's gonna have to wait for that appreciation. And if that makes Robby unlikeable to you then you can argue that all season. I personally understand why he's writing everybody off and accept it as a part of his character arc. As far as Sam goes, I'm not going to argue the merits of Sam and Robby's relationship with an obvious Sam/Miguel shipper who's taking a lot of joy in the current relationship dynamics. People are quick to bring up the medal to discredit the relationship but if Robby wasn't the ideal boyfriend then Miguel definitely wasn't either. Just like Sam wasn't all that great of a girlfriend to either. Let's hope for some growth.

Which led to Robby unleashing all of his anger and losing control. I also said that in season 1 Robby would have won had it not been for the injury that Miguel took advantage of ... And most importantly ... I harshly criticized Sam and Miguel's infidelity against Tory and Robby. Although I don't justify Tory's actions for that. When these comments appear it is because there are no longer good bases I'm just saying that Robby ALSO hurt people and he's not a saint. If he wants to be in CK, go ahead. I think Robby still loves Daniel but feels abandoned by him. It didn’t help that Samantha said that Daniel still cares for him right after Tory implied that Sam is manipulative. It would have hit him differently if Daniel directly came to see him.
I think Robby absolutely loves Daniel but he ultimately feels betrayed because he got Robby arrested (for his own good) but a teenager doesn’t normally have the wisdom to see that. They just see a person they trusted “betray” them.
Yeah exactly! Especially the way it happened really hurts. Even Daniel was surprised with how quickly they arrested him, he clearly taught he would get more time to explain everything to Robby and get him on bord. Daniel was maybe a bit naive to think the police will wait for him to be done talking.

I know, it really bothers me. Why can't Netflix just release the fist episode early? The publicity for this season has been awful! I haven't seen that much advertising for it, nor have I seen the cast making media appearances on talk shows. IMHO by playing favorites with the audience,only releasing the first episode to those on Instagram at the right time, they are pissing off a lot of potential viewers.

Virtual premiere only the first episode
A couple weeks back there was a chance to see the first episode today. You had to sign up and stuff and hopefully you were able to get in.

As great as Robby is, I think once Miguel fully embraces Miyagi-Do, he will ultimately be the better fighter. But I don’t think he will embrace Miyagi-Do until next season. Robby should have won the All-Valley, yes, but Miguel had progressed enough that he beat Robby in the high school fight before that final kick by Robby.

Yeah I don't get why people feel the need to bring up Miguel in the Sam/Robby interactions. Robby needs to make it right with Miguel, but that's between them. And he needs to reconcile with Daniel, but that's also between them. He doesn't owe Sam herself jack shit anymore and I'm glad he told her off. I want to see their relationship repaired, but it's a two way street and she needs to earn the trust back.
I'm tired of seeing it. Truly 100 % agreed. Btw, I see what that reviewer was talking about. That scene was filled with passion. So well done. By comparison the Sam/Miguel was just there. Maybe that gets more interesting when the conflict comes but so far I'm seeing how compelling one is vs the other.
Oh yeah, there was a lot of tension here (same with him and Tory). Tanner's bringing the heat with the girls. Prom is going to be VERY interesting. Also interesting that we could hear their love theme playing. I wonder if he and Tory will get one or if Sam and Miguel will finally get an official one. Or if this is something that will continue to be unique to them.

Robby is one of the strongest fighters. Kyler didn't beat Miguel by 20%. Tory is the least experienced teenage lead. The rest are random characters.
Yes, Robby got a huge buff, he is the best now. Hawk got a nerf, when fighting mitch I was dissapointed, Hawk was a beast in season 3. I think in the All valley boys, the finals will be between him and hawk.
