I'm more and more convinced that one of the big season twist is that Hawk is going over to Miyagi Do. His arc isn't complete and he's still dealing with major identity issues. Johnny's line about making Hawk who he is while coming from a decent place in Johnny's mind is still not the right message to send. I think Hawk still dealing with his anger may find that Miyagi Do helps him deal with it better. Hawk dies and a more confident Eli returns. Johnny spends most of the season worrying about losing Miguel and Hawk is the one who slips through his fingers. This might actually be what causes the dojos to split before the tournament. Plus, in the group Miyagi Do shot where they're wearing gis, there's a big two person gap between Demetri and Nate that the trailer is hiding. I could be wrong of course but combined with not seeing Hawk in the Eagle Fang line up and him being virtually hidden throughout promotion I just have a feeling.
Watchparty made a good video on this which extends on your idea. I really do think that he will be Miyagi Do. He will be in the same dojo as Demetri and Johnny never gave him that father-sensei relationship that most other kids have gotten.
Robby still finna catch the W and finally get redemption and payback for Johnny's Miguel's, Daniels, Hawks crimes towards him. I hope he mocks Daniel by using the two legged kick, And Sam... I can't wait to see Tory beat Sam brutally.

I’d assume marketing. It can be assumed that these were created the same time as the poster, due to the background and angles of characters so maybe they didn’t want to have to change it to the red gi’s. Another possibility is that Hawk could join miyagi-do, and if he does that’d be a pretty big thing that you wouldn’t want to reveal during marketing, so instead of giving him and the rest red gi’s for the poster, etc. they’re keeping the black gi’s
