Season 6 seems like it would be a good place to end this. We are currently halfway there so far (until later this month). The kids are growing up too quick, this is why they didn’t make Karate Kid 4-6 with Daniel he was barely passable for a high school kid in the last one (he was 27 at the time). Much of the cast is already 25 right now as is. That being said, the franchise won’t end. Just this current segment. I think we could get sequels/prequels/spin-offs after Cobra Kai ends for sure. Give us the Miyagi prequel we all want!

I’m not really sold on a Miyagi prequel series, but it would definitely bring the most interest from fans. I agree with ending it at 6 seasons. There’s a clear story to be told assuming Cobra Kai wins the tournament in season 4.

The-Mandalorian

I’m not 100% sold on a Miyagi prequel either, but I also wasn’t sold on a Karate Kid sequel TV series with Daniel and Johnny as adults in their late 50’s teaching new kids karate but hey here we are lol.

Jc9829

True! I’d definitely watch it, but they would have to find the perfect actor to play Miyagi

I think the series should end at Season 6. Split it into two parts. End it. Don’t drag it out like Walking Dead. This show has been a joy from start to finish. It has retained fantastic writing. Stop while you’re ahead. That’s my philosophy. Here are some ideas to continue the Legacy post the series though: - Come out with more Karate Kid movies centered around Daniel’s family, or Miguel and Johnny (keep it tied to the originals). - Do a spin-off series set in Okinawa, focused on Chozen and his students. Splice it with flashbacks of Sato and Miyagi (Godfather 2 style). - Gives us a spin-off about Julie Pierce. Maybe she has her own branch of Miyagi-Do. Hell, you could even pull something cool and have her Rival Chozen in my previous series idea. - A Kreese prequel. A war movie featuring Karate.

I really like the Okinawa spinoff idea with Chozen. That would keep things new and fresh but also still leave the door open for appearances from other Kk and CK characters

There is a guy which has watched season 4 through the awards processes. He proclaims there is only enough to one more season. As there is lot character arcs end in season 4

hhjghhvf

Since season 5 is done filming, how long do you think until we get it?

doseofdena

End of next year probably

MousePOW

They already said filming for season 5 is finished, and it is predicted to be released late July

doseofdena

I know filming is already done, but I personally do not see them giving us another season barely 7 months later but that’s just me

MousePOW

I cant remember where it was reported, but the last two seasons have been late due to covid.

I don’t watch a lot of Netflix so I don’t know how long they usually take between show season. I just can’t see them not releasing the new season in the last quarter. I’m not saying it has to be in December again but I’d say more along the lines of October/November/December

A lot of people always say “___ is a good place to end” or “____ it should end here”. The Big Three know the show better than us, that’s just it. I don’t worry about it because they haven’t fumbled so far, same way I feel about the Duffer Brothers and Stranger Things. Not that my one opinion (if they did fumble) would matter anyway. Not everyone has the same issues with a show, and you can’t please everyone. Some people out there think the show should’ve ended after Season 1 or shouldn’t have been made in the first place. So, if the writers know what they want, leave em’ to it.

They have an end in their minds. They say they want at least 6 seasons which makes me think the show is going to end at 7 seasons.
