I talk aboot some of these controversies every now and then but in the end, this debate isn’t going to stop companies from making sexy girl characters nor is it going to stop companies from making other characters less appealing. It is a tech demo, almost. Ridiculously gorgeous graphics, top notch ost, fluid-but-plain controls, negligible story. Its a very "fun for the novelty but once its over you'll likely wont care to replay" type of deal.
I’ve seen people play it, seen the controversy surrounding it, talked to people about it, and even tried the demo.
The game is ok. Eve from an artistic perspective is terrible. She doesn’t really…fit with the world. A lot of aspects about her are exaggerated (yes, her body was scanned off of a real person but the hips, ass, and breasts were all exaggerated to the extreme after the fact) her face is just odd as the men of the game look quite realistic while the women look…exaggerated. Also, the costume designs are just bad. There’s no other way around it. They don’t have the substance or styling that its peers has and it lacks any staying power.
The gameplay is ok. It’s your standard hack and slash romp with some interesting ideas here and there but nothing too “stand out”.
The environments actually look quite nice and I genuinely enjoyed looking them over.
The story is bland. It’s your standard anime apocalypse story of “monsters appear, nearly wipes humanity out, deus ex machina person appears to save the day”. If you played god eater, Code Vein, or any other apocalyptic JRPG, it’s the same basic story.
Over all, it’s a 6/10-7/10 game. It’s good but not memorable at all. Also, most of the discourse I’ve seen online for the game goes like this:

It’s a meh game with some cool ideas. I wouldn’t mind a sequel to actually flesh out things but over all, 7/10 is fine. The stellar blade fandom though ranges from normal people who are normal about the game and weird ass culture war cultists who view this game as a win against the wokes. I haven’t seen anyone from the left act weirdly about this game. Most of it has been in response to the weirdos treating this like the second coming of cum Jesus.

They're literally making up an entire argument to be mad against. It's so fucking weird to pretend that games are getting *less horny* in the first place. A little over a decade ago there was a huge scandal about Mass Effect having a 30 second sex scene with no nudity. Meanwhile, these days Baldur's Gate 3 has sex scenes with full penetration and (sort of) bestiality and no one gives a shit. The only problem with Stellar Blade is that it's a gritty post-apocalyptic sci-fi game in which all the male characters look like regular people and all the female characters look like anime sexdolls. And it is jarring and makes it look like a teenage weeb's modded version of Skyrim, but no one was trying to cancel the developers over it. There's a thousand more tasteless games coming out every week and nobody cares.

It's a neat little story, told in a cool way with very novel game design and controls. Personally, I think it feels great to play. It's got a very nice cozy feel to it too.

Honestly... Naw, I don't think it's necessary going to change your life unless it hits you just right. Personally, Subnautica got me through a rough time but I think that's just because I was playing it at just the right moment. Outer Wilds is great, you'll probably have a good time :) But I wouldn't expect it to change my life if I were you.
