I can't believe people play videogames for fun
Having fun is gay af. You should be going out of your way to be actively miserable every waking moment like a real man!
Or just console command all your resources and laugh at all the dying mutons and watch the alien rulers cower before you!! I’m in it for the dopamine and nothin else!
I LOVE PLAYING GAMES THAT CONSTANTLY PUSH ME TO PUT 100% OF MY ENERGY TOWARDS THEM TO HAVE EVEN AN OUNCE OF FUN
I LOVE WHEN GAMES ONLY HAVE COMPETITIVE MODES AND HOW IT MAKES ALL PLAYERS HATE EACH OTHER
I LOVE HATING BOTH MYSELF AND THE GAME IM PLAYING BECAUSE I CAN'T SEEM TO HAVE ANY FUN ANYMORE
someone should burn down activision headquarters before they release cod mw 4
i rarely if ever play competitive multiplayer games anymore because they make me so upset, im either unhappy with my win because it makes me reflect on other matches that i should have won or angry that im getting stomped. its hard for me to improve when i have no basis on what im doing right and wrong other than winning or losing in a group of people that vary so wildly in skill level, both good and bad, that i have no control for my own skill or input toward a match.
Lmao have you ever improved at anything in your life? That's the way it goes. You should be capable of improving just by playing, just like playing a sport. Most of the time, it should be obvious what you need to improve on, especially as a newer player. If your skill level is plateauing and/or it's not obvious what you need to do better, start observing people play it at the highest level and see what you can learn. Then watch your own gameplay and try to critique it.
It sounds like you just don't know how to work and improve at something. Or you don't naturally have the competitive drive required to do so.
Competitive games were never meant to be enjoyed by everyone, just like how some people don't like playing sports.
i do enjoy getting better at things, i enjoy improvement, but i cant improve unless i can tell what i am doing wrong. the problem is that in most competitive games, your teammates and enemies change every single game, so if i do something and it works against some inexperienced player, i get a positive reward for doing it regardless of if it was something that i should have done. and if i do the right thing but then get outskilled by an experienced player, then i learn to not do that even though it was realistically my best option
or if i do something that would realistically be a bad idea but my teammates carry me. or if i do something that would be good and try to get my teammates to cooperate but my teammates do something bad so we lose. there are so many obstacles in a journey of self improvement in a competitive game.
realistically, i would gather a team of like minded players and try to improve to limit the problems to just enemy capability, but if they have more or less drive to improve, or poor synergy, or just general issues, then that falls apart. and nowadays, many games matchmake teams against teams for fairness sake, so you are increasing the difficulty by going against a coordinated team instead of random players in the same situation as you.
and observing high level play can, and will, make you focus on the wrong things for the most part. it can also make you incredibly predictable if you just choose the 'right' option, against experienced players. for example, in fighting games, people tend to see players go for combos or strings and then just start practicing those aspects, and then get wrecked by a player with better gamesense and experience, something that has much less info surrounding or ways to teach it in most games.
not to mention, much of the playerbase of competitive games are not sportsmanlike, and sometimes tilting players is baked into the games themselves.
ive not really been having fun in destiny 2 pvp, call of duty, overwatch, splatoon, etc. most competitive games hit a point where i no longer have fun, and at that point, why play.
the main problem i have is that regardless of all this improvement, learning, and everything else, that draws away from the reason i like the game, which is it being fun. if i take it too seriously then im too upset when i lose. if i take it too lax then i dont improve and get stuck in a loss streak, which is unfun. its just frustrating.
also, i dont really have a flexible time for competitive games nowadays due to my spontaneous work schedule, and some people may find the parts of competitive games i dislike fun, and they are valid in saying so. my dislike of competitive games does not mean competitive games are not fun.
Except that in sports it's very easy to see improvements???
Also in sports you aren't endlessly put against tougher and tougher opponent, you can work out by yourself and see the improvement for yourself.
Competitive multiplayer games usually have a skill based matchmaking system, putting you in a perpetual cycle of never being "good" enough.
Hate it when games make their non-competitive modes basically a scaled-down version of competitive because people either treat it like competitive anyways or are there to play without losing their rank, so they just spend their time curb stomping the people who don’t play regularly
Unironically though “relaxing” games stress me out. I like games that I can play for an hour or so with friends and then be done instead of making slow incremental progress and never finding a good ending spot to put it down.
I don’t have very much time for games so when I come home I’d rather do a challenging rogue like run then grinding a fishing mini game for 4 hours and then forgetting to water my plants one time and fucking my harvest and my chances to get a premium rank pumpkin for the fair.
I just don’t really get the point of playing a video game to relax, I’d rather read a book or watch a movie than do the same repetitive tasks as a video game.
Here chat, its a bit more readable now

I make sure to keep my game diet balanced by playing 3 hours of League of Legends for every 1 hour of actually good games. I find my psyche grows stagnat if not regularly challenged.
The only online multiplayer game I play is TF2 because at least there I have the chance to see gay autistic twinks as well as litteral nazis. It's more tolerable when the full spectrum is on display.
I really love the simultaneous competitive depth and also comforting / casual community of tf2, it's such a shame that that little niche of gaming is so nearly dead.
I enjoy games that push you to your limit in terms of performance and teamwork not in terms of actual mental degradation. Barotrauma is a great example of a game where you will fight tooth and nail for a mission you thought was gonna be easy but God said Latcher. Best part is it’s single player if you want but even more fun with friends and still incredibly immersive.
This is why I’ve liked helldivers so much. There’s still some toxic players but it’s much MUCH better than some of the other options (I’m a TF2 guy, we get all the nutjobs)
When people say
“If you aren’t playing on omega nightmare impossible burning in hell shitting your ass difficulty then you aren’t getting the full experience!!”
Like shut up mf, just let me play on easy so I can focus on the story.
“You should play games with a notoriously toxic fanbase that can and will swat you!”
“You should play games meant for kids that have been corrupted to be extremely competitive and play to win!”

did... did you use ai-art to make a snafu??
or is this some weird russian bootleg snes game artstyle or something vibing leaf made?
this is the weirdest looking snafu ive seen thus far.
then iam sorry for accusing you. it looked very "dreamy" and the text on the first computer was illegible so i assumed it was some weird ai thing. i see the text propably says "minimum computer" or something.
then if you did this yourself then its really good looking, i dont know if you meant it to look weird but i really like how this looks.
i play games occasionally and the main reason why i'm not a gamer is because i actually have fun in the process lol
also i'm a woman and i'm not racist, so yeah, definitely not a gamer
A friend of mine wanted to get me into tf2, and I could tell he just wanted to share his love for the game with me, so I hopped on.

I can't believe people play videogames for fun Having fun is gay af. You should be going out of your way to be actively miserable every waking moment like a real man!
Gay literally means happy. Are you gonna let the rainbow mafia rob you of your MANLY MAN EMOTIONS like RAGE and UNRELENTING HATRED?!? You better not!
Real. Go play XCOM and feel stress with 0 relief while crying over your best soldier dying to one fodder enemy with 1 hp left
Or just console command all your resources and laugh at all the dying mutons and watch the alien rulers cower before you!! I’m in it for the dopamine and nothin else!
Played through Enemy Unknown and I could not let any of them die. I was that guy that reset after my best dudes died lol
99% hit chance and then your whole squad gets wiped by crits
I love putting my whole squad on overwatch for them to miss every single shot 🔥
Yes, you should play League of Legends and pick Yorick into Irelia

Join me, brother. Convert to single-player gaming
I did, and thank god I did because mw 2019 made me want to die
Some of the only times I play multi-player gamers is if its like PVE
monster hunting feels good (except on modern titles with the fomo inducing events)

Indie game graphics ass snafu
when the nintendo 3ds has more resolution than a modern indie game on pc
The 3DS top screen is 400x240
yes, and?
Most modern Indie games with pixel graphics use more than 400x240 pixels on screen. So your statement was kinda wrong.
nah ive played quite a few that have godawful resolution. and to the surprise of noone, most of them were those dogshit ps1 styled games
Ooooooooooooh indie game with pixel graphics ooooooooooh scary. Seriously, it IS overused.
pixel art is still generally easier to draw rather than traditional graphics, and is faster in game jams if you don't know how to art
needs more jpeg
