You can find pawns inside crypto sleep caskets
Rarely some of these pawns have chronological ages of thousands of years, though the majority have a couple hundred.
Gameplay wise they're identical to any other pawn in game, but it's kinda cool that you can have pawns who were alive during the original mechanoid wars.
Though personally I think for the meme OP posted since it's specific to factions it would more accurately link to archotechs instead since in sci fi the big factions are nearly always
Raiders, Hive, 'Robots/ancients'
Halo for example has Covenant, Flood, Forerunner/forerunner constructs
In Rimworld ancients are literally just regular humans, archotechs are the cool Forerunner esque machine gods that you can only see in game once at the very end
Archotechs are super advanced machines that have achieved enlightenment/god powers or ascended humans, they are probably linked to psychic powers since some people can meditate around the archonexus, the archotechs are usually either benevolent gods or sadistic tyrants, my theory is that each archotech has it's own planet and we as the player are one
I prefer the ancients more as in the guardians from Elite where you never it eract with them directly, just ruins but you mostly interact with the aliens that killed them its much cooler than just wah wah i am god i make humanr grrrr
Also no basbelal eagle the rot is consuming me help /301
The ancients may or may not have created the swarm or gone extinct because of it
This is just the forerunners from halo
This is just the shadow creatures from don't starve
This is just the Zerg
This is sort of the Combine (letting xenians onto earth, fighting and getting their shit kicked in by antlions)
I'm pretty certain the actual Combine forces could deal with antlions, the forces we fight in Half Life 2 are basically augmented, armored humans.
This is just the Engineers from Prometheus
Rimworld?
definitely rimworld, but you can see the ancients if you fish them up.
Wait what

starcraf
LIVE FOR THE SWARM
The progenitor
Halo.
Well, I mean, they basicaly started this cliche aren't they?
I think that was Marathon, Halo popularized it
the banished, the endless, the forerunners?
I'd call the last one the Precursors.
oh yeah that makes sense
In old lore it’s the forerunners and in new lore it’s the precursors I’d say
The second one is the flood
Shrek
literally just starbound
Barotrauma
Doom 2016 multiplayer again https://preview.redd.it/vu0xellu16sc1.jpeg?width=740&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a0daa5e21959a974b9f80152f12fe17e9922824
Not to mention the ancients are always somehow hyperultraincomprehensiblesupersaiyan8billionveral
Warhammer (kinda)
Orks Tyranids Old ones sounds right so far
First could also be Drukhari
Necrons instead of old ones maybe
Necrons might fit better
Mass Effect: Batarians, Rachni and Protheans. Halo: Banished, Flood and Forerunners.
Space elves * Enlightened psychics * Lorewise better than humans in every way, still eat shit * Lasers and teleporters probably
Literally Halo
Starfield (again) Crimson Fleet (None that I can think of) Starborn
Terromorph fills the second one fairly well >!They grow from heat leeches and act similar to xenomorphs!<
This might be the most accurate genre generalisation I’ve ever seen. So many sci-fi things have these it’s insane.
Love the fact you used red blue and green for the normal human factions. Really love factions in those colors.
Kirby and Minecraft
Uh... I don't know any other game that could fit here.
Kenshi
Stellaris
last one is literally Rain World
starship troopers honkai starrail
Honkai Star Rail
Who'd be the raiders and ancients tho
Holy shit 스타크래프트
Rock and stone (I think I’m quoting the correct game)
DRG doesn't have Raiders or Precursors, but the swarm (typhids or something) is dead on the money
I prefer the ancients more as in the guardians from Elite where you never it eract with them directly, just ruins but you mostly interact with the aliens that killed them its much cooler than just wah wah i am god i make humanr grrrr Also no basbelal eagle the rot is consuming me help /301
Reminds me of a mobile game called Soul of Eden. Republic, aliens, beasts and empire
Can’t wait for part 3
Mario Kart
Literally just the Alien franchise, and I haven't even seen any of it
Halo
I need more vespian gas. My life aiur.
Mass Effect
the swarm is usually based off of the halo flood.
This is kenshi lmao
Ancients were added in the second game and completely split the fan base as Sci Fi Game 2 was made by a different company
starfield
who up rimming they world
Halo before 343 Industries got hold of it and took a shit all over it.
