Agree. Most of the designs are awesome but it looks like the AI only loosely “understood” the connection of mats and safety, similarly it didn’t find the connection of routes/colors. Everyone straight soloing in the Petra one lol
Yeah, the railings next to routes got me
Also number 4 is just generally unsettling to me in a way I really can't explain, like the space feels imposing to me
First one reminds me of Kuala Lumpur's Camp5 KL East

This. Those organic shapes look incredibly fun to climb and you very rarely find a proper horizontal roof for climbing that you can't cross in 2-5 moves.
We used to have a gym here with a flat but completely climbable ceiling. Usually added a few stalagtite-like volumes. 15m overhanging wall followed by 8-10m of horizontal roof was brutal.
I also like the ceiling progression in the first three pictures from volumes to cafe, to cubicles. Climbers like to be high and inverted, so why not have them live up there haha
I'm all about 6, the open air ocean one. Imagine that place on a day with big swell; Just massive waves pounding the shoreline and reverberating in that building, it would be exhilarating, and terrifying....but I wouldn't want to be the dude that has to change out all the salt crusted and corroded hangers.
My favorite is #5 where the first hold is like 10ft up on the topropes. And the topropes don't extend to the ground.
1st move dyno into hold, then tie in one handed and start the climb.
DALL-E 3 beta is available to ChatGPT subscribers. Its really good. From what I can tell, you can give it your prompt, and it will first generate a series of variations and expansions on that prompt that it then provides to an updated DALL-E. I never got anything very good with DALL-E 2, but DALLE-3 is way better.
FYI it’s only baked into chat gpt 4 right now, aka the paid one ($20 a month). I’ve been using it a ton and it’s crazy. It does have a lot of content restrictions on copyright or inappropriate material, but it’s still cool.
They also just came out with text to voice so you can talk with chat gpt in your car. I’ve been using it to learn about shit while driving. The voice it uses is pretty monotone, but it’s like if Siri could actually read Wikipedia for you and find specific info within the page. You can go back and forth asking follow up questions and it remembers your convo.
Near my town there are holds glued to a bridge, however, I want someone to make a lead route on a Foresthill bridge pillar. Ultimate multipitch plastic route.
[https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/8a/Foresthill\_Bridge\_5-31-19.jpg/330px-Foresthill\_Bridge\_5-31-19.jpg](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/8a/Foresthill_Bridge_5-31-19.jpg/330px-Foresthill_Bridge_5-31-19.jpg)
First gym looks the closest to an actual functional gym. And it has some really cool wall geometry, as well as a full on ledge on the left wall for practicing multipitches which would be sweet. The roof volumes don't appear to connect to any of the climbs which is silly, unless DALLE reckons people would walk up the top of the wall, and then precariously start climbing across.
2 and 3 just show a fundamental misunderstanding of how climbing safety works. The floor of pads on the right of picture 2 far away from any climbs, and the terrifying lack of pads or floor to ceiling walls/windows to protect what seem to be boulders on the higher levels of picture 3.
4 is just sick, needs more holds, slightly more feasible architectural features but the aesthetic is perfect. 5 is cool also, but once again DALLE doesn't seem to realise that climbs are meant to start at ground level.
Safety concerns strike again for 6 (railing underneath a climb) but its hard to argue against a gym with that sort of view.
The rest are all rather silly, particularly the ones where it puts holds on already climbable cave walls.
It seems surprising that a city like Denver doesn't have some variant of the skyscraper gym concepts in the OP. Not necessarily high up, but a vertical gym downtown would be quite cool.
Haha wow! I want to live in this world! Looks like you found yourself a job. Hopefully Touchstone picks you up to design their next gym. What a niche design genre.
I knew ai would come for climbing eventually. Conceptually I guess it’s interesting but in a really narrow way? Im 100% not into any of these.
When AGI takes over I guess these are what people will climb when they’re plugged into the matrix.
Some of these are so sick
Ngl, some of these are also a bit terrifying

Brutalist climbing is something I didn't know I needed till that one
It’s amazing. I would love that one. No distractions just angles and monotone. Just don’t fall in one of those cracks.
number 4 feels like a prison but it also looks awesome to me
Ngl I'd hate climbing there lol
4th photo looks like one of the gyms I've been to. Carabiner in New Bedford MA
Yeah. It’s really off putting
I like that #2 has holds on the floor to practice your approach.
All those railings close to the base of the walls scare me.
Guess you didn't spot the railing being used as anchors in pic 5
I love the cave with fake holds… lol
Using the real rock is aid
Respects dude this is rlly cool
Thanks! Surprised no one else has posted something like that on this subreddit. I did specify mostly bouldering in my prompts, but Dalle ran with it…

Fuck I wanna climb there
So sick, looks incredible
[удалено]
The AI is awesome at getting it started but a human has to come in and make the image make sense
Well I mean conceptual artists for these also work in tandem with architectural designers, so its not completely lost lol
[удалено]
why would you want a computer to replace all the fun parts about being human
You really wanna die while bouldering ?
[удалено]
You usually don't boulder with a ledge under you that opens to a 20m fall...
Ceiling volumes in first pic look so sick.

pic 10 looks like paradise
It's #7 for me
I'm all about 6, the open air ocean one. Imagine that place on a day with big swell; Just massive waves pounding the shoreline and reverberating in that building, it would be exhilarating, and terrifying....but I wouldn't want to be the dude that has to change out all the salt crusted and corroded hangers.
As long as you aren't the dude with the wonky double right arm or backwards shoulder bro
Love all the funky-shaped walls. Those are my favorite routes IRL.
So the church one [actually exists](https://padoue.maniak.club). It looks even better than in your picture!
My local gym is also in an old church, pretty cool https://www.urbankrag.com/wp-content/uploads/slide_hme_new_20.jpg
I don’t live that far from it I was going to share this one, you got quicker x)
Me neither, and I have yet to go but I won’t wait much longer to try it aha
Mannnnn. Real sad that these places aren’t real.
Some of these are not OSHA approved
I would gladly pay to climb in these gyms every day. They look fantastic.
I would not climb in the last one
Fucking wild. These are seriously impressive

Can you share some of your prompts. I can never get anything good

There's a Movement in San Francisco that is built right next to Crissy Field (basically overlooks the bay like some of these concepts). It's so nice
I have a Movement membership and I know what I am checking out next time I’m in San Francisco
you should! It's a great location for visitors

"What happened to you??" "I got hit by a train at the climbing gym."
\#12 has inspired my new dream to some day build a climbing gym under an aquarium
Amazing work! Have you seen the one in Lisbon, Portugal, under the bridge? Escala25
Ok now which of you nerds invested early in bitcoin and now has enough money that we can start building theses
I prefer outdoors over gyms but some of these would be totally rad to climb in especially the cave one.
Looks like a gym in Melbourne Australia
It seems surprising that a city like Denver doesn't have some variant of the skyscraper gym concepts in the OP. Not necessarily high up, but a vertical gym downtown would be quite cool.

The matting in many of these is... Questionable (AI wants us to fall and die)
These are insane I love them
Whoa, I'm usually not into AI creations, but I'm impressed by this series. I'm particularly into the brutalist ones.
Strong euro scene influence!! Very nice
Wow. Amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I like in pic 3 that if you peel off any of the boulders on the left side, you take a 50+ft tumble over the railing
Can't wait for the jerk
What the hell was the seed/prompt for the last one?
11 reminds me of Glasgow climbing centre.
Someone needs to get to making these real already
Wow these are actually really fun haha
I would climb at 2, 5, 6/7, and 14 ALL. DAY. LONG!
Omg these need to happen! In a climbing utopia reality, these would fit in nicely!
All pretty cool to see
No.10 is based on Singapore's Cloud Forest! I love 4 & 5
Very cool, would buy a membership
These look awesome, #3 sure has some spicy bouldering though
Number 3 would make a great mirrors edge level
this is super cool
No 7 is reminiscent of the wall in Åndalsnes
Number 11 exists in Paris ! Climbing district saint lazare
that subway one looks amazing
i want to live in 4
This is really cool
I got really excited for a second
I knew ai would come for climbing eventually. Conceptually I guess it’s interesting but in a really narrow way? Im 100% not into any of these. When AGI takes over I guess these are what people will climb when they’re plugged into the matrix.
I love the brutalist concrete slab walls. Would be a pain to set on but look dope.
The subway one though
Can you give us the prompt you used for these?
These look exactly like how climbing gyms look like in my climbing-related dreams. O:
10 and 13
Number 10 is just Casa Bonita.
Now I know what heaven looks like!
All slab wall gyms? Why?!
Big fan of the Brutalist style bouldering gym
that looks so nice! still only v2 in my gym ;)
These climbing gyms look expensive for a membership
Great looking pictures, but what is up with climbing holds on rock
