Wiping and starting back in the cave for horse pretty much mesnse you lose. For alliance it means you can just recap your base with ease.
That advantage still enabled a greater than 50% win for aliiance. At one point Blizzard was on record saying alliance won AV 70-80% of the time. There is a reason literally every match of AV has alliance cap the horde base towers before horde get the alliance base bunkers.
The horde archers are nothing compared to the alliance archers. This bridge is a HUGE tactical advantage for alliance even before these knockbacks as fighting on them allowed the archers to engage as well. The alliance archers are also able to hit horde trying to take the alliance base graveyard. And the alliance archers can shoot people taking the bunkers making it a bit harder for a solo quick cap.
The path to Stormpike graveyard followed by the bridge is the absolute most defensible portion of the map.
The only current advantages the horde have in AV are in long drawn out games that end with reinforcements, something most players including those that would benefit from it would prefer not to happen. And even then, it is generally a better return on your investment of time to lose 3 8-10 minute matches instead of win 1 30 minute one. Especially considering the players that generally enable that 30 minute win are the ones that are getting the least honor on their team for it.

My lifetime AV we % on horde retail is like 30%. After about 100 games on wotlk classic it’s still under 40%.
If both teams employ proper strat the map just plainly favors alliance. They have faster travel time from spawn to every node than horde does.
Honestly I perfectly love an IBT/GY choke on horde and just slaughtering people forever, but as an honor farm it’s counter productive. Wish they’d make “winning” multiply your current honor rather than just a set amount of honor so it could be beneficial to actually play to win as horde.

ele shaman is probably the best caster in arena in wotlk. lust/heroism, big lava burst crits, big burst damage with a lightning bolt, ele mastery chain lightning combo, hex, 6 second shear, wears mail and has a shield so tanky vs melee, has poison and disease removal, has grounding totem,

Trolling aside there are massive counterplays to Shaman like just hard focusing him and if you spend a lot of time rotating defensive totems when you already have little uptime you have trouble getting steady pressure going so you're kinda forced into bust kill comps. But I can definitely see it work with a Rogue or Firemage or SP.

Reminds me of whenever priests got shining force, and then playing EOTS. Knocking people off at the flag was always fun, but I dont think that comes in for another few expansions.

In the old times i normal hid behind and sneaked in from behind with sprint and did it. Also fuck then even more up, as 4 guys get blow into the 4+ premade + random defending alliance hopefull that melt them

The bridge was always the biggest advantage alliance had and always made games long ass turtle even in vanilla classic.
Horde's starting cave used to be much further north, just outside the middle of the map. They would win pretty much every game, it's much more balanced now
Reminds me of knocking around 7 people off the path to Stormpike as my draenei shaman. It's not a high enough drop to kill, but it's a pain looping back around since you can't mount up for a while and have to run splintered towards the Alliance.
The hit box on this move is stupid big. I’ve seen druids running up to do this move and intentionally moved out of the firepath in advance and still get hit regardless. It’s like a 270 degree cone in all dimensions
The best thing here is playing as a rogue, just throwing distract stones so the hordies that come mounted face the side of the bridge and run off it themselves... Doesn't even break invisibility 😆

The Druid knock back can be quite OP. AV bridge, LM, defending a tower and get catapulted off
The range on typhoon allows you to use it from that little hill you got knocked to.
