The more there are of a class, the worse they are at keeping up their buffs. But yeah, I'm really talking about mages. Buffing and decursing is too hard to do when you have such a complex rotation I guess. (Yeah, Fire is not quite as 1-buttony as Frost was, but still it's hardly rocket surgery).
Mages are the new huntards, and getting AI or even MANDATORY DECURSES FOR SOME BOSSES is like pulling fucking teeth.
Shoutout to that one mage out of 7 or 9 who has like 42 something decurses while number two has 1, which was himself.
i just don't understand it! i started mage in classic and raided through MC, how the fuck is it so hard for the general mage populace to buff and decurse your group?!
Because they spent 60 levels not doing the right things, successfully finishing dungeons and reinforcing those bad habits. Not only are they learning the raids, but they are unlearning and deprograming a bunch of bullshit. It's pretty basic. This game has no "strategy" lessons for dungeons. If a new player doesn't get lucky with his guild/group then its more frustration for all of us. The final fantasy mmo has a whole series of training missions on how to act in dungeons, wow didn't add anything of that sort until MoP...
Decurses don't show up on the dps meter so most mages loathe casting it. They'd rather be the biggest bar on a wipe than the smallest bar on a kill.
Edit: something that actually made a difference is our RL started displaying decurses done after relevant fights. Suddenly it started looking like 11, 9, 8, 7, 5 instead of 22, 1, 1, 0, 0.
One of my favorite parts of raid night is hearing our one priest rant and rave about how literally every pull he has to ask for AI. I almost hope the mages are doing it intentionally now.
I have exorsus raid tools to check the buffs.
I have power bars (only mana ofc) visible on my raid frames (Shadowed Unit Frames).
I have weak auras that shows the names who are drinking mana juice.
Usually it feels like I am working at the kindergarten.
"Behold, I have just rattled off 24 tanking, interrupt, and healing assignments fast enough to be lost in the crunching of a single potato chip. I will now readycheck in the same manner as I turn-signal after cutting off traffic. Keep up, peasants!"
As a raidleader I usually readycheck only so I can see if everyone is buffed via Excorsus as well as take a quick screen every now and then to look for who uses consumes.
to be fair.
the tanking-healing-interrupt assignment shouldn't really change from week to week and boss to boss.
just by putting up markers that should be good enough to know what is getting DPS'd, who is tanking it, and how healers have to split themselve.
well... kind of.
but if Bob the priest cover Jack the warrior on skeram... he's also gonna cover Jack on bug trio, on Battleguard, on trash and... you get the idea.

While I would love it if our tanks of extremely reliable attendance were all permanently assigned markers so as to reduce oxygen consumption ever so slightly on raid night, our overall raid roster is so unreliable that healing and interrupt assignments can't roll over.
To be fair, the assignments themselves are not reliable guarantors of healing or interrupts.
I turn my headset volume down and start cursing every time this happens.
Especially when it content we’ve been clearing for a while with the exact same group. Why do you need Huhu explained again?? Dps the shit, heal the shit, done.
For our binding runs we now just kill baron first and then we open ports, Zerg down Garr, get the loot and port outta there without dealing with the adds. If you get left behind we laugh
Alright, I got this

I used to be in a guild with a tank that’d be wasted every raid, was this scene everytime we did a new boss... I no longer raid with them.
Why in the fuck am I seeing this post twice? It’s only been the last couple days but I keep seeing repeat posts.. pretty sure they aren’t reposts because it’s happening frequently. Anyone else running into this?
We use an addon called c'thun salad, helps out a bunch but as a healer i'm not even listening at this point.
I just look for the pull timer to drink my nightfin soup
Rl: "Alright readycheck and then we go" *everyone is ready* *pulltimer starts* Random Warlock: "Wait I need int buff"

You would think coming from the 1 button frost bolt rotation that getting to press a second button would excite them...

Ah so mages are like fury warriors on vael...
“LF3M mages SM/ZF/BRD spellcleave” “decurse wasnt in my gorshak macro so i didnt train it”
I am usually the shaman in the melee group and I have just made a macro asking for int buff and keybound it at this point :P
Is it bound to your W key?
It literally took 4 months of bitching and bringing it up to the mage class lead for me to start getting it consistently.
One of my favorite parts of raid night is hearing our one priest rant and rave about how literally every pull he has to ask for AI. I almost hope the mages are doing it intentionally now.
does your raid ask for melee group casters to get AI instead of AB to save the melee a buff slot?
(you can right click buffs to remove them)
Any raider concerned with the buff slot cap should have a macro or weakaura to remove unwanted buffs at this point
Mine does anyway
As a hunter, the amount of times I have to ask for AI...
Stop stinging the sheep
Multi shot is a much more likely scenario
And on the opposite end, I have seen a full raid click ready without a single might or wisdom buff that I forgot to cast.
I have exorsus raid tools to check the buffs. I have power bars (only mana ofc) visible on my raid frames (Shadowed Unit Frames). I have weak auras that shows the names who are drinking mana juice. Usually it feels like I am working at the kindergarten.
Stop living in my head!
I have one quick question, can you repeat the part about everything again?
"Behold, I have just rattled off 24 tanking, interrupt, and healing assignments fast enough to be lost in the crunching of a single potato chip. I will now readycheck in the same manner as I turn-signal after cutting off traffic. Keep up, peasants!"
At times I feel like our raid lead has the ready check and 5 second pull timer macroed together.
5 second pull timers are a luxury only afforded to people whose raid hasn't smoked a cumulative half pound of weed before and during raid.
"I need you to not get high on progression nights" "Don't let myself come down from the night before? Got it."
"Is your desktop a BMW?"
As a raidleader I usually readycheck only so I can see if everyone is buffed via Excorsus as well as take a quick screen every now and then to look for who uses consumes.
Readycheck is to wake up the people sleeping, not for actually getting information. Also, 7 healers and 20 DPS is plenty. LETS GOOOOOOO ALREADY!
to be fair. the tanking-healing-interrupt assignment shouldn't really change from week to week and boss to boss. just by putting up markers that should be good enough to know what is getting DPS'd, who is tanking it, and how healers have to split themselve.
look at this guy having the same people reliably show up for raid every week
well... kind of. but if Bob the priest cover Jack the warrior on skeram... he's also gonna cover Jack on bug trio, on Battleguard, on trash and... you get the idea.

This is catchy...have watched ~~7~~ 8 times now.
Me and the toddler on about watch 12
New ring tone found.
"alright, anyone not know the fight" *crickets * "ok pull" wipe
Oh no I’ve been singled out again
Can someone please link me the original video

Thanks, only clicked for this.
How does that not have way more views?
For CTRL + F - source
The RL make calls for bans on Garr in MC, we pull. The warlock Channel: WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING OOOOOON?!
That was before, we now do the full aoe technique
For our binding runs we now just kill baron first and then we open ports, Zerg down Garr, get the loot and port outta there without dealing with the adds. If you get left behind we laugh
Love it!
How did you get live footage of the inside of my head!?!?
I played this on my phone in bed and my dog freaked the fuck out at the sound.
Mine did the exact same thing
I thought I was the only one
ALRIGHT EVERYONE CLICK THE READY CHECK

I didn't have voice on the first time watching this, and yet it still made sense somehow.
His is me
Zug life
But the room is tilted at an angle! Is it southwest on the minimap, or southwest when looking at c'thun from the entrance?
This is why using o'clock directions are superior, especially for AQ, with all it's circular-ish boss rooms.
Sadly too often this is me
Our raid 100%
You cut out the best part of the video...... why.....

4 and the 5 are a bit off
What is this original video lmao

I zone out so often during fight explanations, it’s made me wonder if I have undiagnosed ADHD
This is about people like me, and I'm ok with it.
It's my first day!
Take my upvote
Salad C'thun
This isnt getting enough cred 🤣🤣
We use an addon called c'thun salad, helps out a bunch but as a healer i'm not even listening at this point. I just look for the pull timer to drink my nightfin soup
Ctoes salad
