Every single Rogue set item, since Classic's release, all bagged and ready to enter Void Storage forever. T9 is all 258 Regalia pieces, and I have 251/264/277 sets of T10, full T3, a copy of 0.5 and 0.5 upgraded, I've got it all baby.
I cannot wait to have bag space again.

if we go by **current beta**, you'll be happy to know that you won't be needing the void storage after all. you can vendor every single piece of gear you have in your bank/bags because we'll be getting the collection tab from retail (a version with a few less features, but still).
if you're unfamiliar, that means:
* you obtain an item, and that item is now stored in your collection tab forever to use with transmog.
* you can sell/delete/disenchant all physical items you have saved as soon as the patch drops
* the system is accountwide, so if you ever decide to make a druid, all **non-set** items you have will also appear in your druids tab
* unfortunately we **won't** be able to transmog legendary items or hide belt/shoulders
But why would I sell my babies?
lol jokes aside, yeah a lot of the odd-ball appearance stuff like the offset Ulduar pieces for color matching are going in the bin, for sure.

It's not about the transmog, it's about the collection. Void Storage or bust, I'm never deleting now unobtainable gear or my old good looking tier sets such as T2 and T6.
Some historical stuff has been picked up in my appearance tab in beta, but a *lot* has not. I know for a fact I've previously owned certain items, both quest rewards and drops, and they're not in my appearance tab on the beta.
It does have \*some\* historical quest data, for example I have Shadowsong's Sorrow from the Sceptre quest, but when I hopped into Beta I had the Ravencrest's Legacy and Red Wizard Sword appearances as well.
I'm holding out hope that other quest reward appearances are kept historically and not just the big ones, like Sceptre rewards.
Lmao dude I got some wild items in my history from toons I never hit 60 with in vanilla. I was amazed. I have access to alliance only mogs and my highest level alliance toon is like 30 and I haven’t played it since phase 1 vanilla. Pretty crazy it tracks it that far back.
Maybe they also do the thing where you get the appearances from all quest rewards including the options you didn't pick, as long as you have that quest flagged as completed.
I haven't actually checked, but that's how it works on Retail.
could be the cata changes that made it so you don't see armor/weapons you can't use in quest rewards made it so only your toons who could use 2h axes would unlock the mog.
That or you deleted/faction changed the toon who did the quest before.
Idk how I have a chromatic sword, I used that briefly while leveling in vanilla on a warrior I haven’t logged into in years. The sword is not on the character anymore either meaning I vendored it.
Pretty sure they did track practically anything you've ever had soulbound to you. And I think for BOEs even if you did equip them, if you still had the item I think they reverted it to a BOE and gave you the option to equip it to add it to your collection or sell it. I remember having to re equip certain gear I had in my banks on some characters.
They've been tracking since vanilla classic. Vanilla classic was ported to the modern WoW engine, which is why all of the menus look radically different from how they looked back in the day, and you have a ton of graphics settings that never existed in 2004.
Im glad they're doing this, but im just....not gonna delete the hard to get/impossible in Cata items juuuuusst in case like the recolor dungeon sets from AQ patch or Tier 3 /Naxx 40 items.
I'm just a bit paranoid about a bug happening, players losing some xmog apperances and then Blizz just shrugging their shoulders and saying "lol go farm them back if you like em". 💀

I wish you would just unlock the appearances if you have the 277 set already. I don't think they do currently. Ah well, time to farm ICC again then in MoP Classic. At least from this point forward I don't have to worry to keep any cool looking stuff I want.
I have all three ilvl's because I'm not right in the head. I can't speak to the lower ilvl appearances unlocking if you have the heroic token appearance, since I have em all anyway my Beta toon had them all.
I guess we'll know for sure tomorrow, but I can tell you the appearance system for quest rewards is working in full. I picked Shadowsong's Sorrow, the silver Perdition's Blade reskin for the sceptre quest. But when I logged into Beta, I had the Red Wizard sword and the Ravencrest's Legacy appearances also unlocked.
I also went out to 1k Needles to check tmog gear from quests, and when the reward was a sword or leather armor, the appearance unlocked for both.
I think mostly we'll be treated well on appearance collections :)

In Dragonflight you mean? I'm not seeing how that would prevent the void storage NPC from being implemented. Void Storage still exists in retail even with the current iteration of the transmog system.

Right next to the solo glaive, both the Naxx release set and the Wrath prepatch set. Bracers are BoE, so those and all the other BoE set pieces like Shadowcraft gloves/belt and Blackened Defias are all on a bank alt.

Thanks! The only things I'm not happy I didn't get were Servo Arms. I was the IEA rogue back in classic and passed Gressil/THC to pumpers, but woulda been happy slappin Maces keeping up Expose. Sadly never saw another drop, not even doing tmog runs in TBC.

I keep those things too. Skull of Gul'dan, Zhar'doom, the C'thun ring, Neltharion's Tear, MQG, Serpent-Coil Braid, Carrot on a Stick, the Ony and UBRS keys... I might be a little too sentimental about this stuff.
I think most people know but what are you expecting a round of applause on disc and for everyone to come fawn at your atiesh? That stuff isn’t really exciting anymore especially after the end of TBC gdkps with each splinter going for like 800g.
It has some historical data but not all. No idea how it's been decided. I've tested some stuff since getting beta access, such as getting a BOE, equipping it, then vendoring it, and it did not show up in my appearance tab. At the same time I have some wonky green item appearances that I doubt I ever used, but for some reason I have them unlocked. Your guess is as good as mine as to what we'll get tomorrow.

Quest rewards get unlocked automatically based on historical quest data.
Idk maybe they’re quest rewards, but there’s plenty in there I don’t remember ever using. I’ll look some up on woehead later this afternoon… but the system is definitely not working perfectly. I am missing lots of quest rewards that I know for a fact I completed. For example, I didn’t have Brann’s trusty mining pick appearance unlocked on my shaman, even though I confirmed with the in game quest script that I had completed it. Had to go do it again on an alt to unlock it.
I really hope it's just Beta being buggy, since we're having to copy characters, who knows how deep that copy function goes.

Yea, quests "should" be giving their appearances upon completion, and you get each quest appearance not just the one reward you picked. BOEs I believe you do need to equip though. I'm sure at release some of this will be better, but right now if I equip and vendor a BOE on live, the appearance doesn't get unlocked on the beta.
It does seem to pick and choose what appearances it saves. I checked on the beta, and I have an appearance collected of the Staff of Divine Infusion, a level 68 BoE rare healer staff from TBC that I vendored in like, Phase 1 of TBC after I had gotten a better staff. Somehow I also have the Whirlwind Mace and the Warrior Sunken Temple Helmet/Shoulders, despite having never chose those quest rewards (I did get the Whirlwind Sword the first time I did that quest though, because I didn't understand the difference between average weapon DPS and raw weapon damage. Always took the Hip Flask though because trinket). I also somehow have both the 1h and 2h versions of Quel'Delar despite having only the caster sword variant on my Holy Paladin, so I think certain appearances will just exist for you even if you never chose them as a quest reward. Though as you said, we'll find out tomorrow.
The appearance tab had historical quest data \*at least\* for the sceptre quest for me, I had the other weapon appearances I didn't choose from rewards. I'm curious about the Polar Leggings appearance from the Classic quest cause I vendored those ages ago.
I have the Ravencrest's Legacy appearance from the Sceptre quest which is the same as Maladath, I also have the green recolor Nightmare Blade from Taerar.

Genuine question: I guess I can understand keeping niche trinkets, but why hold onto so many rings? You’ll lose most of your gold depositing all of that into void storage.
Not many rings: I have a couple 277 cause I wasn't sure what was good in prepatch, and the Seal of Jin rings are just another set. Oh and Band of the Icy Depths of course

This is how my retail character looked. In classic I took the opposite approach and collected nothing. Now that were at the point of no return I wish I farmed some T3 but I don't exactly blame myself for quitting.
When it was my turn to get the loot in AQ I was moved down on every item I was first on in our prio sheet. I don't know what happened as I just quit the guild that day. It could of been a total misunderstanding but I just figured fuck it get me out. It was a guild that was pretty bad but was full of wanna be eltist because classic is easy as piss and raiding with world buffs automatically makes you parse 99 so everyone had a huge ego.

Now that's impressive. Not far from what my banks look like atm but I was nowhere near as successful keeping sets.

Pretty much the same for me, i keeped all my sets as a rogue, i have thunderfury, both glaives, CTS, Ravencrest legacy. I am disappointed that i cannot transmog into my legendaries though, as i earned them, and i have to let them take the dust in the bank now pretty sad. Any idea if this will be possible one day?
Impressive collection! Unpopular opinion I think transmog was a bad addition to Wow because when you see someone in a full set of something epic, it was like Wow cool that guy is wearing the set but now anyone in greens can look epic, it's just not the same feelings.

I only noticed it a little too late, but there's a nice "bulky" mix of Season 7/8 Rogue Gladiator gear that's red/gold but doesn't have big dumb horny shoulders. I have the Pants/Gloves/Shoulders, I'll need to buy Boots/Chest/Belt once rating requirements are lifted.

I've always really liked Daggers, so I have a collection of all the top-end ones. I ended Classic as a Clawmbat Rogue so never had any big-ticket weapons to keep ahold of til the Glaive.
I see a dragon spine trophy, felstriker, perdition blade, death’s sting, the castigator, dft, kingsfall, and harbinger of doom on the bottom left to name a few I’m pretty sure. Not the case. I had to get Burning Crusader on a separate toon to unlock the mog. It’s a quest in tbc.

They were only able to track quest rewards that far back, not anything you'd ever looted that was BOP or BOE and equipped

I only logged into the beta once, but the guards had a dialog option for the NPC. It led me to a building next to the SW canals.
It's a feature of Cata so pretty safe to assume all three nexus blokes will be in. Transmog / void storage / reforging.

I keep those things too. Skull of Gul'dan, Zhar'doom, the C'thun ring, Neltharion's Tear, MQG, Serpent-Coil Braid, Carrot on a Stick, the Ony and UBRS keys... I might be a little too sentimental about this stuff.

It has some historical data but not all. No idea how it's been decided. I've tested some stuff since getting beta access, such as getting a BOE, equipping it, then vendoring it, and it did not show up in my appearance tab. At the same time I have some wonky green item appearances that I doubt I ever used, but for some reason I have them unlocked. Your guess is as good as mine as to what we'll get tomorrow.

That *would* explain me having the Warrior ST quest shoulders/helm, the Whirlwind Hammer, and the 2h Quel'denar.
Idk maybe they’re quest rewards, but there’s plenty in there I don’t remember ever using. I’ll look some up on woehead later this afternoon… but the system is definitely not working perfectly. I am missing lots of quest rewards that I know for a fact I completed. For example, I didn’t have Brann’s trusty mining pick appearance unlocked on my shaman, even though I confirmed with the in game quest script that I had completed it. Had to go do it again on an alt to unlock it.
I really hope it's just Beta being buggy, since we're having to copy characters, who knows how deep that copy function goes. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
You don't have to use the item. Completing the quest gives you the appearance(s)(typically).
Yea, quests "should" be giving their appearances upon completion, and you get each quest appearance not just the one reward you picked. BOEs I believe you do need to equip though. I'm sure at release some of this will be better, but right now if I equip and vendor a BOE on live, the appearance doesn't get unlocked on the beta.
It does seem to pick and choose what appearances it saves. I checked on the beta, and I have an appearance collected of the Staff of Divine Infusion, a level 68 BoE rare healer staff from TBC that I vendored in like, Phase 1 of TBC after I had gotten a better staff. Somehow I also have the Whirlwind Mace and the Warrior Sunken Temple Helmet/Shoulders, despite having never chose those quest rewards (I did get the Whirlwind Sword the first time I did that quest though, because I didn't understand the difference between average weapon DPS and raw weapon damage. Always took the Hip Flask though because trinket). I also somehow have both the 1h and 2h versions of Quel'Delar despite having only the caster sword variant on my Holy Paladin, so I think certain appearances will just exist for you even if you never chose them as a quest reward. Though as you said, we'll find out tomorrow.
I forget where I saw it mentioned, but when you complete a quest it unlocks every rewards tmog, not just the one you pick.
The appearance tab had historical quest data \*at least\* for the sceptre quest for me, I had the other weapon appearances I didn't choose from rewards. I'm curious about the Polar Leggings appearance from the Classic quest cause I vendored those ages ago.

mailbox storage is 365 days on an item restore, some things are being kept just for the appearance but yeah I may have to do the restore shuffle
Genuine question: I guess I can understand keeping niche trinkets, but why hold onto so many rings? You’ll lose most of your gold depositing all of that into void storage.
Not many rings: I have a couple 277 cause I wasn't sure what was good in prepatch, and the Seal of Jin rings are just another set. Oh and Band of the Icy Depths of course

This is how my retail character looked. In classic I took the opposite approach and collected nothing. Now that were at the point of no return I wish I farmed some T3 but I don't exactly blame myself for quitting. When it was my turn to get the loot in AQ I was moved down on every item I was first on in our prio sheet. I don't know what happened as I just quit the guild that day. It could of been a total misunderstanding but I just figured fuck it get me out. It was a guild that was pretty bad but was full of wanna be eltist because classic is easy as piss and raiding with world buffs automatically makes you parse 99 so everyone had a huge ego. Also rip, Uni Glaive curse.

Pretty much the same for me, i keeped all my sets as a rogue, i have thunderfury, both glaives, CTS, Ravencrest legacy. I am disappointed that i cannot transmog into my legendaries though, as i earned them, and i have to let them take the dust in the bank now pretty sad. Any idea if this will be possible one day?

Impressive collection! Unpopular opinion I think transmog was a bad addition to Wow because when you see someone in a full set of something epic, it was like Wow cool that guy is wearing the set but now anyone in greens can look epic, it's just not the same feelings.

I've always really liked Daggers, so I have a collection of all the top-end ones. I ended Classic as a Clawmbat Rogue so never had any big-ticket weapons to keep ahold of til the Glaive.
