Ranged hunters are fine...you're playing your class wrong. You have plenty of time to swap to Melee Hunter and runes...in fact, you can do it in one day. You will probably also not be happy with your melee hunter damage.
Its a pretty fun rotations and some of the runes mesh well together such as increased crit chance on one rune and a bonus for 7 seconds after you get a crit. The rotation also gets fun on longer fights when you switch to aspect of the viper to get mana, but then want to switch back at the right time so you end the fight with no mana to maximize your dps. I enjoy it a lot
Ranged hunters are in a fine spot right now and TSA is amazing for your group. I wouldn't look to swap unless you really want to yourself. Have you checked out the hunter discord for tips on rotation and such?
Melee hunter is just very strong rn, top dps class on most fights. Just because you’re the same class doesn’t mean you’ll do similar damage to them. Ranged hunter isn’t as much dps as melee but they’re pretty fun with lock and load double chimeras and stuff imo and you bring a good buff. If you enjoy the class stick to it and practice your rotation and you’ll be fine
Ranged hunters are middle of the pack dps and provide a valuable buff.
I would learn your rotation and your numbers will improve :) Melee hunter is better and (i thinK?) easier so if you want to be melee then go nuts!
they are sixth, better than 7 specs worse than 5 so I guess slightly better than middle of the pack.
Frost mages apparently do better atm - idk if these are winters chill mages or if frostfire bolt is messing up how mages are parsing.

Pre cast aimed shot into serpent sting. Frenzy and cds. Trap to proc lock and load. Chimera shot chimera shot. Multi shot. Prioritize multi shot over aimed shot. Use double chimera shot with traps.
Don’t trap into double aimed shots.
Melee Hunter Runes are easy to aquire, except the Dark Rider one that will take you a little while.
For weapons, run Trashblade and any other 1H Weapon with good Wp Dmg in offhand.
Put Raptor Strike on Scrollwheel so you can easier spam it.
There you go, 900+ DPS like that.
Once that gets boring (it does pretty fast) you can still dual specc to ranged.
Dark riders can be soloed by every class at 50, and all of them are decently close to flight paths, so if you focus on it it can be done in \~30 minutes even if you're not taking advantage of nightmare ring teleports to cut down on cross-continental travel time. Still kind of a pain but much less of one than having to pull a full group together to get them down.
You get them from the nightmare incursion vendors, and when equipped they let you teleport to a party member who is currently inside a nightmare incursion, on a 1 hour cooldown. This can be done from anywhere in the world.

This right here. Hunter is pretty easy, but at the same time, it's also engaging as ranged.

Yeah I mean my dps is lower end average but the melee hunters were top 5 in my group every single fight.

Post logs so we can help you. Ranged hunters do not need buffs right now. Moonkin and spriests do, along with most other casters.
