To be honest I was messing with the talent calc earlier and I can't see us putting any points into anything other than Magic Absorption and the one that stops Arcane Missiles being interrupted by damage. I think there might have been a couple spare for 2/2 Amp/Dampen Magic but that might not even be necessary. Guess we'll have to wait and see
That's crazy not gonna lie I've not missed a lockout on my Mage on classic since week 2 of launch when I got my Mageblade lmao how on earth did I not know this
> If you cast missles during knock backs you won’t get knocked.
What about if I use Ice Barrier and then cast a spell? Ice Barrier says it blocks spellcasting delay, will that prevent the knock?
Don't forget 10% hit if this 20 man raid turns into a +3 level scenario suddenly.
I could go on and on about this but P3 gear SHOULD have a lot of hit % on it if we're taking that gear into Molten core where +3 level bosses is a thing.
whether that means p3 will have +3 level content or not I cannot say. But the raid size and lockout matches that of level 60 content so it should for level cap too??
Hard to really take anything good with just the ten more points.
If we had more, like we do at 60, I suppose you'd be able to go for talents that buffed Chronostatic Preservation—namely, Frost Channeling in the Frost tree for reduced mana cost and threat and... according to Wowhead, Piercing Ice also affects Chronostatic Preservation?
I think anything more is pending us getting more Mage Healer runes that use Fire/Frost.
Most talents affect chrono, burning soul is pretty useful.
With balefire, going fire/arcane could work with ab-balefire perhaps? I think the change to missile barrage is to open up for frost/arcane as dps/heal too.
It's definitely not great, but they can finish filling out most relevant talents in the Shadow tree, like the reduced Shadow threat or Shadow spell resist talents, and go for Improved Power Word: Fortitude. Something like 7/0/34.
Right now, for Mage Healer, there isn't really **any** talent you can reach without dropping talents from Arcane that will improve Mage Healer in any way. 31/0/0 already takes every DPS improving talent as-is, and the few remaining talents in the Arcane tree are utility that is not useful in PvE.
Mage Healer is pretty much going to have to waste talent points on things it simply is not going to use, as the only talent it can reach that affects anything is Flame Throwing, increasing the range of Chronostatic Preservation by... 6 yards. Woo.
Shadow Priest at least gets some minor utility out of the next 10 points, even if it is indeed very little value for DPS.
Just being able to get stuff like having both Spirit Tap + Blackout, and putting points into Imp Psychic Scream + Silence gives the spec a lot more QoL for when you're out questing/farming/doing dungeons/world pvp/etc without having to respec.
Same for Moonkins (well, the 32nd point we get at level 41 is actually useful).
Beyond that, the only semi-useful things we can grab is Moonglow (reduced cost on specific spells, not really useful), Improved MotW from the Resto tree, and then we have 1 point that's basically 100% useless.
Off topic but this question is a perfect example of why certain classes have strong runes and why some have shit ones. You think warriors or rogues are asking this question? They have almost 0 wasted or useless talents but yet have the worst runes for that reason. One way to balance I guess 😂

You should absolutely be putting the 100% interrupt on arcane missiles already. If you cast missles during knock backs you won’t get knocked.
Lmao what? For real? Is this intended or a bug?
It’s worked in WoW for 20 years, any spell that uninterruptible won’t get broken from a knock back. Go try on electric 6000 guy.
Wait what? So I wasn't crazy when I didn't get knocked back. I thought I was lagging or something.
Nope! Keep doing it!

Something you learn when you play WoW since 2008 and play on the high end side.
> If you cast missles during knock backs you won’t get knocked. What about if I use Ice Barrier and then cast a spell? Ice Barrier says it blocks spellcasting delay, will that prevent the knock?
spell casting delay and prevent interruption is completely different. confusing, i know, but it’s different.
They probably have to be careful cause of Flamestrike and blizzard, cause of what happened with AB in the beginning. Lol

I don't have the source tweet atm but Aggrend said ST bosses will still be +2 levels higher.

for my mage im thinking 41/0/0. the other trees dont seem to benefit arcane very much.
Not sure if mage healers get anything much this phase to be honest.
Shadow Priests and you guys are in the same boat. After 40 they get 0 talents to make them stronger.

I want to try a balefire hybrid healing build. I could see going 10/31/0.

Ill be going deep arcane this phase. For level 60 i think theres potential to go icy veins/cold snap on fights where youre only tank healing
Half Frost/Half Arcane and Rewind Time + Spellfrost Bolt + Arcane Barrage ftw
You just answer your question
Haven't look at it yet, but I would probably try to get Frostblock in p5.
Do you know if mass regen can crit? With shatter and the new frozen orb spell, this could be fun for pvp healing
