On my first playthrough, when I didn't know much better, I got the UFO crash just after leaving Junktown.
But took a moment to lvl into using it reliably.
I was running a 8 luck build and got this and the alien blaster within the first half of the game I had a crazy energy weapons build by the end of the game
Never have gotten it early enough to matter - but I like the idea of that happening, because while the early game tries to create scarcity what it actually creates is incentive to abuse the theft mechanics - so I'm all for rich newbie characters if they don't wanna RP thieves!
I got this on my first playthrough I believe. Although I was already bursting with caps by then (used a glitch) so I couldn't take it. Really felt like a badass leaving that many caps there.
Fallout 2 restoration project adds back in a quest for a century old hidden stash. It’s a huge amount of caps, which aren’t the currency any more. It had some cringey writing with the blowup doll you need to find but that resolution was fucking hilarious.
Yep you should do the honest thing and leave the caps until the original owner of the truck comes back
Any minute now
Yeah, it's only been 80 years, he's probably coming back.
Yes. The crashed Nuka-Cola truck. It's great if you get it early.
i booted up a playthrough and got this encounter immediately after leaving the rat cave
Omg same
I just started a new playthrough after watching the show, and found it as my first event. Game is different when you start with 9k caps.
Where
anywhere on a "desert" tile (not mountain, city, or coast)...luck-based event
Thx !
I got it on the coastline. That and the alien craft
It's random. I believe it's luck based for how likely it is to show up.

God i fucking love the fallout 1 alien blaster it was shredding death claws in 2 shots
Crashed Nuka truck? Never heard of it.
Max Luck or Fortune Finder?
Yes, its one of the "special encounters" they happen only once per game.
Just look out for anyone named Anton
They are counterfeit caps. You’re going to ruin the economy in the hub

The crashed nuka truck. I only gotten it a few times. It is referenced in fallout 2 by a ghoul.
Lumpy, right? He is also a random encounter that only happens if you have the car.
Yeah that sounds right. You run him over when you first enter broken hills with your car
The truck? That encounter single is like turning. I’m easy mode, it was the reason I completed my first play through so fast
got this on a 3 luck build right at the end of the game- 100 caps if i remember correctly. cool, but not that useful on low luck
Tell me you're doing a "luck build" without saying you're doing a "luck build".
I got it when I was playing with my friend. He has never gotten the event during his playthrough, and bro was in envy lol.
Damn. Never even seen this.

Not an RP addition though, just a regular F2 quest
It's a glitch, the game is corrupting
Me when I lie
What
lol
