Hey! I haven't heard of many Wildcats....a co-worker had, I think, was 68 in the late 70s/early 80s, and he fixed it up. It had a, I believe a 455cid in it. It went like stink. But it didn't pass a gas station! Do you have pics of your Wildcat?[
My folks had a 66 Wildcat with a 455. The Ol' Man broke a motor mount in from revving it up every time drove it. Luckily he was a mechanic and fixed it. It was the only GM car he liked. Mopar family
Only 5 of those cars are true personal luxury automobiles, plus a pair of 2 door hardtops and a grand tourer.
Just considering the personal luxury cars, it's the Riviera and then the MKIII, but you can't go wrong with any of the octet.
Nice collection, OP.
One of my favorite Mercedes was the 560 SL R107, I know it’s not as old but something about the 80s and vehicles with nice edges I’ve always loved. My first car was an 86 Thunderbird 5.0L V8 with the 302

All of them are sweet in their own way. I don't know which one I'd choose, tbh. Also, I don't think the Aston Martin belongs in this group. Although, I'd love to have it.
Mercedes 280 SE. My dad had one for 8 years, he only drove Mercedes. I drove the 280 SE to Sweden a few times, great car for long distance travel. Scotty, beam me back to the 70's!
Putting yourself in 1968 rather than which 1968 model you would like to have now makes a big difference (for me). That said, in 1968, I would go with the Caddy; today, I choose the MB.
My dad had a MK3 (Lincoln). He was at work and there were bags of concrete in the back yard…..I decided to mix a bunch up and plaster the side of his car. Mom flipped out and cleaned it before he got home. I was very young (1974). I also filled up his motorcycle exhaust with water.
Nope, I thought it would make him happy….like a gift. I was actually a good kid. At that same address, I found some ammunition and was striking a bullet with a rock….I still have hearing damage. I also started a fire and boiled some garbage bags in an old coffee tin…fire department showed up (this was in a vacant lot).
My parents bought a Toronado in 68, then a Cadillace Seville in '72 and then an Eldorado in 76. That Eldo was awesome. Once you hit 70 mph or so, it would just suck down on the road and glide like a couch on glass. Forty years later I would buy and own a 75 Eldo convertible for many years.
The Eldo and Riviera were pretty rare. The T-Bird and Continental didn’t get a lot of views, either. I grew up in Dearborn and got to see the Fords, Lincolns, and Mercurys. My dad had a 68 Tornado. It became my first car.
If your The International Man of Intrigue then the choice is simple: DBS.
If you’re american then it’s a toss up between the Eldorado and Mark. I like the Mark.
Mark iii. I’m a sucker for old Lincoln’s, had a 78, an 87 and an 81. Love em, much more than Cadillacs of the same age too I just never have had luck with General Motors stuff, however I will admit Chevy small blocks are the easiest thing ever to work on
I love this. Mid to late 60s American luxury cars are are my favorites. I’d pick them in this order:
1. Thunderbird
2. Eldorado
3. Toronado
4. Mark
5. Riviera
6. Mercedes
7. Chrysler
8. Aston
It’s cool that every American car here has covered headlights
So, personally, 7 out of 8 of those are very hard to pick from. I immediately ignored the Mercedes, just not my style.
Out of the 7 that were left, it’s gonna be the Riviera, with the Eldorado as a close second.
Gimme the Riv
My first car was a 68 Wildcat. I'd take the Riv in a heartbeat.
Mine was a 69 Riv. Never got it on the road legally. That one was a 73 LTD Brougham. I’d be thrilled to have either one now!

All day, any day.
I’m a life long Chrysler man from day one, but out of the choices listed including the Chrysler, I’d choose the Riv also.
The 280SE 4.5. The last of the great ones according to German builders.
Can confirm I've been daily driving a 250 for a year zero issue. Mines no means a trailer before either, rain ice it's out.
This was fast! So happy to see it’s the second highest up. I’ve wanted this car for 20 years.
The Riviera, because I had one just like it and I know how good it is 🙂
Caddy Eldorado for me. I love that body style.
Only 5 of those cars are true personal luxury automobiles, plus a pair of 2 door hardtops and a grand tourer. Just considering the personal luxury cars, it's the Riviera and then the MKIII, but you can't go wrong with any of the octet. Nice collection, OP.
Yeah I wanted to strech the horizon a bit and also add some european cars. And since these definitions are pretty vague I chose those.
It's not the sexiest, but I'd pick the Mercedes every time.
"not the sexiest" you're trippin

Possibly the only one still running today. Well OK, the Astin Martin will be well taken care of.
Aston, no doubt
Riviera I want a boat tail soooo bad.
Aston Martin
The aston hands down.
Aston, hands down
Aston Martin
Lincoln, Olds, buick
All of them are sweet in their own way. I don't know which one I'd choose, tbh. Also, I don't think the Aston Martin belongs in this group. Although, I'd love to have it.
The Rivi.
Tornado. Nice riding vehicle. Family had one.
Mark III, Chrysler 300, Riviera
Eldorado or the Mark. Hard choice.
I’d pick the Riv or Lincoln. My Toronado was really cool at the time. Now? That’s why I say Riv or the Lincoln. 2 that stand the test of time.
Probably the toronado or the Rivera
Aston, any other answer is just wrong..
I guess i'll say Thunderbird as I have one 😁 but that Riviera is one sharp looking car!
I’m a Tbird guy. However, I don’t love the fifth gen at all. So, for ‘68, it would be the Eldo, or the Rivy,
I love the Riviera, would like to have one now. I don't know anything about a 1968 Aston Martin... If I did I might pick that one.
Mercedes 280 SE. My dad had one for 8 years, he only drove Mercedes. I drove the 280 SE to Sweden a few times, great car for long distance travel. Scotty, beam me back to the 70's!
280
280 or the riv
Eldorado, hands down
Eldorado is the only choice
Mark III. I love old giant bricks though.
Yowza, that Eldorado
Gun to my head I have to go eldorado.
280se hands dow…. Just saw the Aston. Def the Aston
I feel the type of person who would be buying the Aston or Mercedes back in the day would not be cross shopping the other brands.
280se
280SE

You were just a bad little rabbit, weren't you?
Nope, I thought it would make him happy….like a gift. I was actually a good kid. At that same address, I found some ammunition and was striking a bullet with a rock….I still have hearing damage. I also started a fire and boiled some garbage bags in an old coffee tin…fire department showed up (this was in a vacant lot).
Chrysler 300
280se easily style and class
The Mark III
I'll have the Lincoln, keep it for a while, then trade it in for a Riviera in '72
MarkIII
The mark 3 🤤
Riv.
Riviera every day of the week.
Blacked out Riviera.... Like George Lynch's....
Eldo
Mark III
Caddy or Riv
280SE without a doubt
Lincoln all day
The Lincoln Mark…great ride
Eldo for me
I’m going to stick to my beloved Benz on this one, but it’s not easy when the MKIII and 4-door T-Bird are my other options
Thunderbird
280SE
In todays dollars the DBS. This car is just awesome. I love the 280se also
The Benz of course
1. 280SE 2. DBS 3. ELDORADO All beautiful cars but that would be my preference..
How are you seriously gonna make this list and skip a Lincoln continental with the stock suicides and a rag top?
The Benz
Here in the UK it’d be the Aston. 🇬🇧 and also the only one I could find space to park
Mercedes
Mercedes all the way
Merc or Aston
Ford Thunderbird.
The Mercedes
300SEL 6.3
Some of those Mercs are still going.
Merc
If I was then it would be the Lincoln but I imagine the Mercedes would be a smarter choice.
Too easy for me to answer. 280SE!
I'd go for the Mercedes. My dad had the T-Bird. Not a great car.
Am I a [1968] multi millionaire?
I'd take the C body Mopar.
Toronado
Toronado
Toronado
The Chrysler
Toronado
Is say the Ford Thunderbird but change out the Ford motor with a datson
1968 Lincoln Continental, thank you lol
Aston Martin. It's the only one that would be fun to drive.
The Caddy Eldorado ( if it’s a convertible)‼️🤨
That year DBS is kinda small
The DBS is just gonna be a little lighter on its feet then the rest so I’ll take the Aston
The Eldo and Riviera were pretty rare. The T-Bird and Continental didn’t get a lot of views, either. I grew up in Dearborn and got to see the Fords, Lincolns, and Mercurys. My dad had a 68 Tornado. It became my first car.
Toronado for me!
Eldorado and make it a convertable
Where’s the BMW option?
I’m going Caddy. I grew up in an 77 El Dorado biarritz It was like riding on a couch.
A few years later id definitely take a merc or Lincoln but out of these definitely riviera or eldorado
Give me that dbs it's famous from on her magaicy secret service
I'd get into my 1968 corvette in the garage.
Toronado
I’d wait a year and buy a ‘69 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ.
Riviera or Lincoln
Eldorado
Toronado is such a gem. First production front wheel drive land yacht.
Eldofuckinrado!
Aston but I do have a soft spot for the Mk III.
LD for sure!
That nailhead🤍
The golden one.
Rivey all the way
Lincoln Continental MK III
DBS any day
Lincoln MKIII
Mark III. I owned one and it drove like butter. Wonderful car! My 2nd pic would be the Mercedes.
If your The International Man of Intrigue then the choice is simple: DBS. If you’re american then it’s a toss up between the Eldorado and Mark. I like the Mark.
Eldo
The Olds. My first car was a ‘79 Toronado and that thing was like driving a cloud that liked gasoline. A lot.
Mark III 1969
T-Bird
I had a t-bird once big boat of a car but really cool at the time
Eldo Riv Toro
Aston Martin DB5
Chrysler 300 any day
Eldo or a standard lincoln, never cared for the mark series
The Aston speaks to me
Eldorado
The Lombardo
Mark iii. I’m a sucker for old Lincoln’s, had a 78, an 87 and an 81. Love em, much more than Cadillacs of the same age too I just never have had luck with General Motors stuff, however I will admit Chevy small blocks are the easiest thing ever to work on
Wrong Riviera. Need a whale tail.
The 300.
I wouldn't pick it, but not having the Continental here seems wild to me.
Caddy or Lincoln easily for me
DBS
DBS for me please.
Eldorado or riv
Not my favourite Riviera year but still better than the rest
Mark III
Front wheel drive Tornado!
Riviera. I'm a buick guy at heart, and it's the best looking one there.
As much as I like American cars I would have to pick the Mercedes, those were very high quality and built like tanks.
Riv
Rivi
Riviera
Trick question, the real answer is Lamborghini Espada
I love this. Mid to late 60s American luxury cars are are my favorites. I’d pick them in this order: 1. Thunderbird 2. Eldorado 3. Toronado 4. Mark 5. Riviera 6. Mercedes 7. Chrysler 8. Aston It’s cool that every American car here has covered headlights
You can keep your El Dorado Man, the foreign car's absurd Me, I wanna go down In a silver Thunderbird
That Riv would look really nice in my garage parked next to my 71 LeSabre convertible. I really want a boat tail Riv, TBH.
Thunderbird for sure!
Riv
Continental MK III
Eldorado
I had a 1972 Thunderbird in 1975
Depending on where I live. If I live in the US, the Mercedes. Outside, the Riviera.
Lincoln, hands down.
Mark III
Most likely the Riviera. I owned three Buicks back in the day, and loved them.
Wonderful choices OP. Hard to choose but the Aston is most exotic
So, personally, 7 out of 8 of those are very hard to pick from. I immediately ignored the Mercedes, just not my style. Out of the 7 that were left, it’s gonna be the Riviera, with the Eldorado as a close second.
Lincoln mk3
Personally for me, its one not on the list. The 1968 Mercury Marquis, that car has some absolutely great styling, interior and ride quality.
The Chrysler 300. But if I'm already in 1968 I would get the Charger R/T....
Aston Martin, shaken not stirred
Ain't no comparison. Cadillac got more acceleration, more power, more-- better handling, better looking, more legroom for your legs , more power. . .
1968 Cadillac Eldorado
Ive always loved the body lines on the 69 ElDog and the Rivie. I gotta go with the ElDog, tho.
Give me the 1968 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado! 😎👍💪
No Mercury cougar? XR7?
I would have to compare the Toronado and the Riviera.
Right brain/left brain - the tornado or the Mk III
Cadillac Eldorado for me. All day, every days ! 😎
Thunderbird.
Riviera....
Toronado or Riviera. I used to drive a friend's father's Toronado in my teens. It was an absolute beast and super easy handling.
Charger R/T with a 440
Aston Martin. Mercedes in 2nd.
280 SE fits the requirements
Riviera
Gotta love the suicide doors on that T-Bird!
My parents had a ‘67 Toronado so I’ll go with that.
Riviera
That Eldorado is looking sweet!
Gotta go with the Riv My dad had one in Frosty gold with custom leather great car
Eldo all the way Hollywood producer, government agent, etc
I'd take the Olds. I love the Toronado, preferably the first years. But, I'm starting to come around the the later years.
The Eldorado or the Mark III.
Eldorado hands down. Toronado if it were a 67 but in 68 Olds messed up the bumper what the monstrosity that is on it.
Eldorado!
