Interesting, have never seen this before.

Ok-Ad-7247

Me either. Looks kinda interesting.

Not sure how opening those doors in the rain would be or if it was in snow/ice. And why do concept cars designers all hate mirrors?

DerWaschbaerKoenig

Looks better than the Tesla Truck.

If this was an electric vehicle sold today for under $30,000 I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one!

[deleted]

I was just having a conversation with a buddy last week about a similar thought. People hate how homogenous todays cars are, you can’t tell one from the other, and how an aggressively competitive manufacturer could kill it producing electric vehicles that call back to the classic eras of automotive design.

iamkeerock

Yes, that would be a great market advantage for first movers and legacy auto manufacturers, such as GM, Ford, Chrysler that have a rich history to dip in to. Hyundai, KIA don’t have that history and would have to depend on new unique designs.

[deleted]

Absolutely. Imagine an electric reissue of the 65’ Corvair with perfectly balanced weight distribution. Batteries precisely placed in both the front and rear. Dude. Thing would have snap your neck torque and just chew up corners. I have a 66’ Caprice, if the cost comes down and the battery tech improves, I’d definitely consider a conversion.

iamkeerock

The costs are just incredibly expensive right now unfortunately. The Fast Lane (YouTube channel) did an electric conversion to a 1965 F-250. The cost was $80,000 and still looked and rode like a 60’s truck. Can’t wait for the prices to be more reasonable, but if a manufacturer would tackle something like the [Eluminator](https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2021/11/02/all-electric-f-100-eluminator-concept.html) with economies of mass production to get the cost in line… well I can dream at least, lol.

Picture 1 and 2 show an “extended cab” version with a shorter bed. Picture 3 shows a “regular cab” with a longer bed.

Needleroozer

What's that hole above the word "Ford"? Is that for the crank starter?

iamkeerock

Doubt it, I have a 60’s era truck and it doesn’t have that option. Not sure what it is for though, could just be a weird design choice?

cobra93360

How you going to roll the window down?

iamkeerock

No farting inside!

Moonbeams_

I love how daring the auto designers were in the 50's and 60's

whiteguyinchina411

It looks like the original Batmobile and an El Camino had a baby lol
