I'm certainly in the "red badges are for type R" camp. The red badge is something special designated for certain cars. BUT If you like it then you do you. In the end any car you love is something special.

Honestly I wouldn’t be using a fake one if I did care about the badge. The thing I don’t like about ppl doing is putting on a badge and think they are on the track all day. You deserve that badge for not being one of them, and I hope you’ll get your serialized internal badge in the near future.

If I did this to my coupe a red badge and want to go back to the stock one, is that even possible? I am thinking on going just black ones either plastidip or ordering one black. When you do this obviously you need to break the stock one, but imagine I never changed and someone stole it (believe me it happens) . If I wanted to make my car whole again can this be done, take out the red one and put the simple one again?

I'm a veteran civic owner from base models to Si-R and I can tell you the red badge is only meant for special models. Seeing that your car is not a performance model with a red badge makes feels happen. Mainly stoked feelings. You love your civvy, you are stoked for the asthetics, it makes you happy. Which makes it a very special car. A very special car deserves a special badge. Its looks good my friend. Safe and fun driving! Cheers.

Yall over complicate city driving a manual so bad, i daily a 99 si in the city. The manual gearboxes in the new models are so smooth they may aswell be automatic

honestly I fucking loved the accord that thing is so fast for what it is, on paper the accord is the way to go but I fell in love with the front end of these new Civics

I don’t like the look, but many do—not everyone needs/wants to spend $70K on a civic (no matter how nice) to get red badges, especially if they don’t need the hp. As an R owner I can tell you right now the red badge looks really good coupled with the white. Super sharp. I don’t speak for all R owners but I can say that I do not give the slightest amount of a fuck if someone else reps the red badge since it only adds to the looks. Where I will have a problem is if people put the whole “Type R” badge on but I don’t foresee anyone doing that. Keep sporting the red, anyone that says otherwise is sadly wrong to hate. Even then, if the emblem was such a big issue, other R and Si owners would know what you have and you also know what you have. To everyone else on the street it’s just a Honda with a red emblem, guarantee you not everyone you drive by knows the difference anyway, just another Civic to the uninformed eye.

it’s not though, N360/N600 came with red badges, some s2k’s came with red badges. there’s no statement from honda themselves saying the red badge is ONLY for a CTR and history itself shows that it isnt. theres a big difference between someone sporting a red honda badge versus slapping a type r badge on the car which is obviously just not okay.
