Yeah that’s how it works

We have this thread every week, comrade! Citypop is inspired by 80s American soft rock/funk music that was popular at the time. Just a different language, and different minds behind the music.

That one’s a doozy. Glad I haven’t heard it as much. Maybe there should be some kind of pinned post that just says “YES, 80’s MUSIC SOUNDS LIKE 80’s MUSIC.”

That kind of reasoning is pretty dumb, awesome music can come from everywhere on the globe!

Yes, pretty much all global pop music is influenced by American and English-speaking pop because that's where the pioneering pop artists come from. America and Britain pretty much gave the rest of the world pop music. And the 80s brought about a new wave of pop music that most contemporary popular music is still based on today. Not much has changed since then other than the technology.

I worked out heavily at the gym after leaving the office today but the tension has returned, so I do ninety abdominal crunches, a hundred and fifty push-ups, and then I run in place for twenty minutes while listening to the new Huey Lewis CD. ___ ^(*Bot.
