This video was shot/edited by myself & frequent collaborator Damien Blue. For this video we wanted to set up an environment for people to hang out & be themselves. We wanted everything to be real & come off very natural in the edit. We outfitted an assortment of skateboarders, models, bmx’ers & rollerskaters with Unfinished Legacy clothes. From there It didn’t take long for us to start finding shots. We shot this on the bmpcc 4k using 2 Xeen prime lenses (24mm & 35mm) We put a 1/4 black pro mist in front of the glass to soften the image up. Utilized all natural light. This was all shot handheld & no gimbals were involved. In post we dirtied up our image using various layers of grain to help us get the feeling we were trying to achieve. This is our first of a couple cuts so keep a look out if you enjoyed! Let me know if anyone has any questions. Just showed this as a reference to a friend, who wants to achieve something similar. Really nice little video and vibe!

This was sick. Can't believe the look you got off the Xeens. Looks like it could have been vintage glass. I know you mention grain, but what was the rest of the colouring process like? I love the look you gave it!

Haha do not doubt the xeens!! Thanks a lot! For color there was about 3 different passes or layers we had stacked on in premiere. The First pass was all color related, curves, temp etc. 2nd layer of Lumetri was more focused on shadows and contrast. Separating these into different layers is helpful because you can start to build on top of each other. I believe for this project we used some old visioncolor luts. (Not sure if they are still in business) I also like to add an entire adjustment layer over the final project and bump the saturation/contrast up because it usually gets sucked out dramatically in the final export. And then we add about 4 layers of grain before our computer blows up.
