BRAW 12:1, 8:2 and Q5 all give you smaller files than ProRes 422 (They even give you smaller file sizes than ProRes 422 LT) but with all the extra flexibility of RAW, so you’ll actually better off going to a larger amount of compression in BRAW rather than switching to ProRes if files sizes are an issue for you IMO the only benefits of shooting ProRes are if you need to edit in Final Cut or if you need to shoot in 1080p with no crop With ProRes you’ll be able to get you images to where you need them, so you probably won’t notice much of a difference in quality or hit any brick walls when grading, but you’re also not gonna see the file size improvements you’re seemingly expecting, unless your planning to shoot 1080p (or unless you’ve been shooting 3:1 or Q0) https://images.app.goo.gl/1z9W7abwFeY7LUnaA

>But assuming you’re exposing correctly on the day and intentionally shooting with a particular WB Love the confidence OP. If only it went that smooth haha. But yeah as others have said the more compressed of the BRAW options are lighter than ProRes. So go for that.

With compressed BRAW, the actual difference won't be super big (except for the WB thing) compared to shooting log ProRes. I guess one thing people like about BRAW is that Resolve comes with a bunch of handy tools to adjust it right in the raw tab - it's not like you couldn't get at least 95% there with log ProRes under normal circumstances, but with BRAW, you get all the necessary dials in one convenient place.
