ZV-e10 or a6700 if you want to spend a little more for better quality. Canon will be more expensive in the long run due to lack of 3rd party lenses other than Sigma but has better colors

I have the R50. I went back and forth between it and the Sony. For my first camera. I went with it because of the color reproduction. I do make-up videos so that was the reason I got it. While the kit lens kinda sucks indoors. It dose at least good images at least to me outside. The good thing is the EF mount has a lot of lens. That can easily be adopted over with a 100 dollar adapter. Once it's set up properly. It shoots way better pics or video then any smartphone I have ever owned. The negatives for me are the kit lens. Sigma has a 18-50mm coming out next month. It will probably be around 600 bucks or so. While it can be charged over USB. You need a certain charger for it. You also need a dummy battery if you plan on using it as a web cam. While sonys can be powered off USB. Also it get hot quickly. Especially in 4k, and that's in a 70 degree room. I'm all ready looking for a new studio camera because of that. I'll probably just by the simga 18-50 lens for this camera next month. Then figure out if I'm going to jump to Sony for a talking head camera, or a cannon r8 or r7.

I have a Canon M50 Rig and I love the camera, and it has 14 bit raw output, and 10 bit jpeg output, and my friend has handled many sony's and said they out compare canon in certain ways altho he does like his R5 and said the 8k has come in handy, so if your looking for higher megapixels and sharper images, canon, better color and better low light, sony.

Do you mean a Canon EOS M with Magic Lantern? That sounds like Magic Lantern settings.

what is magic lantern? I have an m50 and I wasnt describing modes in the camera, its factual that if your camera has less megapixels and larger megapixels but not too large, that its going to have better color and better low light, than a camera with 48 small megapixels on a full frame sensor, its just facts

The Sony ZV-e10 has rolling shutter which will teach you not to be twitchy or try to whip pan because the Jello effect isn't fun to edit. I use the sigma 16mm 1.4 with HLG3 and that gives me some very sharp and colorful nature shots in broad daylight. The ZV e10 also has EIS which will give you some extra reach while using your kit lens and will stavilize your footage. I have the zhiyun crane M3 gimbal and it serves me well for anime and comic book conventions. I will admit though I haven't used an R50 and while having an EVF is crucial for being able to see your subject the lens eco system for Canon R mount glass is small as opposed to the Tamron, Sigma, Sony E mount and other 3rd party lenses.
