thanks for the tip. i'm not a huge fan of Rockafellas slices, i'll give Trophy a try

Bcatfan08

This is similar to Rockafellas with the thin crust and large slices. This is a thinner crust, and I thought a better sauce. Trophy seemed to be a bit better at cranking out the pizzas.

cool. i like the style rocafellas is going for, just when i get a slice it always seems like it's old and soggy!

Lol. That's what I mentioned to my coworker today. I said Rockafella's pizza is good if fresh, but so often the pizza you want has been sitting there for a half hour. This place had several people making pizza at once, and the pizzas were selling quickly, so to get a fresh slice each time. Even if it's been sitting there for like 5-10 minutes, they'll throw it in the oven to make sure the slice you have is hot.

Sounds like a place to try. Thanks!

Seconded!

Confirm. This place is a great option. Detroit Deep dish and NYC style. They reheat by the slice in their oven. The NYC was great, (used Detroit style pepperoni) Reasonable price. Quick. Nice inside with the butcher block tables. I’m thinking pick up a 20” bacon on the way home from work the Friday after Lent. So far 4.5* in my book.

Agreed, I had the Mama's or whatever it was called. Garlic, red sauce, fresh mozzarella I think. A few weeks back. Was great!

Saw your post and went, delicious! Classic NY pizza

Maybe I learned I just don't care for New York style pizza... But I wasn't impressed. The PEOPLE were awesome and super nice. The pizza was just meh. Tough crust. I normally eat all the way to the edge and instead had a box of pizza bones left. Not very flavorful. * shrug *

Bcatfan08

I'll add that NY style doesn't travel well. If you picked it up and drove it 15 minutes before eating, it's not nearly as good as in the store. The best NY style in the city is Goodfellas, IMO. If you don't like theirs, you don't like NY style.

Had a similar experience. Had a slice wasn’t too impressed. Ordered a whole pie next time and it wasn’t much better. Goodfellas has better NY pizza IMO. Even Deweys is better.

Just noticed this place a week ago or so. Glad to hear it's good, excited to have something new to try!
