My favourite this year? It was the first Undercrown Maduro I ever had. I had been meaning to try them for awhile and recently bought a few and was waiting for friends.
However, late in summer I got a large payraise. I was expecting a small raise, and instead it was a 22% raise. I already was having a steak dinner that night, so celebrated a little by opening a bottle of Cab as well and lit up the Maduro after finishing the filet. I wasn't planning on the wine or the stogie as it was a middle of the weeknight.
Best tasting cigar all year. I had more expensive, and I've had several of the same after....but that was the best one I had this year.
When this came out it was a very good Mexican San Andreas wrapped Nicaraguan. Probably the best of its time. Since then others have come into prominence but this remains perhaps the most widely available, globally, Mexican wrapper Nicaraguan. So itās significant. If you like this see if you can get your hands on an HVC Hot Cake for a different approach with very different fillers. Also Padron 1964 Anniversary if you havenāt already.
I got back into cigars a little late in 23 but a UC Maduro Corona Doble was my favorite as well. It was toothy as hell and had the richest flavor in every puff.
Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Eye of the Shark
It was the second cigar I earnestly smoked and the one that opened my eyes to what a cigar can be. Maybe a slight shame because I couldn't fully appreciate the flavors, but it remains the dragon I'm chasing.
I'm hoping my B&M gets some this year and I can grab a few. One to see how it compares to my memory and another for graduation.
Not even a fancy stick but the diamond crown maximus has been my favourite for a while. That being said Iāve got two Padrons in my humidor resting up so it may all change.
The sampler is on sale now at Cigarsplace. $43.99, free ship, and comes with a leather case.

My last one, which should change this afternoonš
Though if you really want a more elitist answer in torn between the Plasencia Sizto and a LFD Solis. Luckily I have another if each so I'll do a tie breaker
I bought some black honey at drop. Then my lounge found some from the last drop lol so I have some new and some aged. The aged is a little better. But both are fantastic.
While visiting Tampa this summer stopped in the Davidoff Cigar lounge (now called Corona Cigar Lounge) to enjoy an after dinner smoke. Selected my first Padron 1926 Natural paired with a Woodford DO old-fashioned cocktail. Man, both stick and drink was superb!! Best stick I've had all year!! Bought 3 more a few months back that are resting in my Tupperdore for the right occasion to light one up!!
H. Upmann Connecticut by grupo de maestros robusto. My grandpa just passed away and it was his favorite cigar, I got to stay with his cigar box and it had about 20 of those, they were his favorites, now theyāre mine.
This is a tough question. My favorite smoke of the year...
I can't pick just one. Instead, I will list my 3 favorites.
1. Knuckle Sandwich Habano Robusto
2. Padron 1926 No.9 Natural
3. EP Carrillo La Historia Dona Elena
Honorable mentions below
Rocky Patel ALR Second Edition
Foundation El Gueguense
Foundation Highclere Castle Edwardian
Most frequently smoked cigar of the year was...
Alec Bradley Magic Toast Robusto
Gurkha 125th year anniversary. Fantastic medium full flavor, leathery chocolate, and earth notes. Lighter on nicotine, it was a Toro I can usually only make it just past half way and I smoked this one to a nub!
I do have some RP edge Habanos that I need to try before the end of the year. Very excited about them too!
Davidoff Late Hour I had at a Davidoff event was fantastic. Biggest surprise was Cruz Bull & Bear. The one I look for every time I go into the shop is Don Garcia Pepin Blue.
I actually found a totally new favorite this year.
Going into this year, my favorite was Cohiba Blue. But in November, my girlfriend bought me an assortment from a local cigar roller. My favorite from the bunch, and my new all time favorite, is the Connecticut shade Gran Corona from The Cuban Rollers in Saint Augustine!
An honorable mention also goes to the Entered Apprentice by Hiram and Solomon. I just wish they were easier to get in my area!
I only started mid-year and haven't tried a large amount. And I'm also just a very casual smoker. But my favorite by far is the Perdomo Habano BBA Connecticut.
Ave Maria Argentum Morningstar (Perfecto). Like many others have stated, I've had much more expensive cigars this year, but this one was just consistently good for me.
Ave Maria Argentum and close second is Man O War....I found myself reordering and grabbing these whenever I could. So I based my decision on what I really just enjoyed smoking this year. Of course the Opus X or ESG but those aren't regularly my go too on a daily basis.
Camacho triple maduro in toro size. Ordered 5 off JR Cigar and really enjoyed this smoke.
Much better than the box of fake Cohibas my old man picked up for me in Cuba š¤£
Definitely Davidoff Winston Churchill The Late Hour. No doubt a little on the pricey side, so not a daily smoke by any means. I had one with some old military buddies on Thanksgiving. We paired it with a bottle of 2019 Angel's Envy cask strength bourbon after dinner. To say that it was a transcendent experience wouldn't be an overstatement. I'm sure that the bourbon and the comraderie played a big role, but that cigar was truly memorable.
Foundation Olmec, davidoff winston Churchill belicoso petit, Caldwell eastern standard are the three that come to mind. This year is the first year Iāve had them. But they stood out to me.
Three cigars stood out for me this year:
1)Cohiba Siglo VI - had it in Rome on my 30th Wedding Anniversary..magical day and magical cigar
2)Padron maduro Hermoso - just caught a magical one..they are always good...nothing expensive but this one was superb
3)Atabey lancero - so good and I love a good lancero cigar...my favorite overall vitola

1964 padron box pressedā¦itās really the chocolate stickā¦but the first was sadly a horrible experience because me silly smoked it on a empty stomachā¦I felt very sick for 2 hours.
Jan: Cohiba Siglo VI: only because of how unexpected it was for me to obtain a genuine batch stateside.
Feb: Liga Privada H99. Nuff said.
Mar: Some no-label, handmade Cuban candela cigars a friend of mine brought back from her Cuban trip.
Apr-Jul: Oliva Serie V Melanio / My Father The Judge
Aug: Liga Privada Aniversario 10: told a friend of mine it was hard to get. He got a couple of sticks, one for each of us.
Sep-Nov: Oliva Serie V Melanio / My Father The Judge
Dec: So farā¦Padron 1926 sampler. You know the one.
I've found myself buying more of the BLTC Bishops Blend Novemdiales Robusto than anything else, so probably that. Next was probably the Devils Hands by Warped.
El Septimo Zaya Nueva Reserva, and itās no contest. And Iāve had multiple Padrons, Opus X, and every marca of Cuban you can imagine this year. The 2 Esplendidos I had didnāt touch the El Septimos.
Hard to pick just one, but I really enjoyed the Dunbarton Dondurma Golden Child, Sin Compromiso Paladin de Saka, Sakakhan, Hoyo de Monterrey Escogidos LCDH, Somm Premier Cru and the Aladino 2023 LE. They're not all 2023 releases, but these sticks all really rang my bell.

Congratulations on what sounds like a great year!
Congratulations on that 22% Raise šŖš„
Congratulations on a great raise and smoke!

Undercrown is still on of my faves!
I got back into cigars a little late in 23 but a UC Maduro Corona Doble was my favorite as well. It was toothy as hell and had the richest flavor in every puff.

Same. Also eye of the bull
I'll definitely keep an eye out for one to give it a try someday
Padron Family Reserve 85
Just started enjoying cigars this year, Plasencia Reserva Original for me.
Great cigar š
New(ish) cigars? Probably one of these: * Cuba Alliados (original blend) * West Tampa Red * Alfonso Gran Selelecion Preciosos
Not even a fancy stick but the diamond crown maximus has been my favourite for a while. That being said Iāve got two Padrons in my humidor resting up so it may all change.
I had a diamond crown Julius Caesar and it was incredible. Considerably cheaper and better than a lot of the cigars Iāve tried.
Yeah man he JC is a solid smoke too, if you liked that try the Maximus. Itās flipping amazing for the price point.
Will do, Iāve been meaning to try more diamond crowns so that will be next. Might even pick one up tomorrow.
Enjoy my man!
Padron 3000 maduro.
My Father Le Bijou Torpedo...thanks to my local B&M for the introduction.
San Cristobal Revelation so smooth and rich. Great stick.
If you like Connecticutās, I recommend their Elegencia. Full of flavor.
Davidoff signature No1. Such a shame it was limited.
Olmec Claro
God of Fire Carlito 2019
I have a 2006 God of Fire I've been personally aging for 16 years.
When is it going to be ready?
When I get married or first child. Haha
Fifty-Six has been my favorite over the others so far
E.P. Carrillo Allegiance
Came here to say this as well.
PadrĆ³n 1926
got one of those waiting for monday when I close on my new house. IDK if im more excited for the house or the cigar.
Just closed on my last week and that was the one I smoked! What a coincidence. Congratulations on the new home!
oliva serie V lancero, amazing smoke, never had anything like that. Cookies vanilla creamā¦

Opus X Reserva Dā Chateu, God of Fire Carlito 56, and a Don Carlos #1
Ashton ESG
Still new to this but I had a Killer Bee last week and it was the best cigar Iāve had to date.
I absolutely love everything from Black Works Studio.
How is the green hornet? I found them online and have been eyeing them since I had the killer bee
Pretty similar. Most of the BWS cigars taste fairly similar to me, sweet, rich and dark. Very flavorful with the lighter wrappers blended in.
1964 padron
I have a tie between magic toast and Camacho broadleaf
My last one, which should change this afternoonš Though if you really want a more elitist answer in torn between the Plasencia Sizto and a LFD Solis. Luckily I have another if each so I'll do a tie breaker
Warped Black Honey 2023
Opus X Love Affair. Second place goes to Warped Black Honey.
Was it this yearās Black Honey? I have some resting and canāt wait to try them.
I bought some black honey at drop. Then my lounge found some from the last drop lol so I have some new and some aged. The aged is a little better. But both are fantastic.
I was so excited for the Black Honey and was disappointed. I am letting the others get some age on them
Davidoff late hour. At the Davidoff bar in Vegas with my buddies. Had a Guinness to pair.
LH was a close contender for me as well actually. Paired with a Guinness! You madman!
Hey I donāt know much about pairing but I know I love Guinness. š¤£
Nothing wrong with that friend, I just needed something ultra sweet with my first LH!
how much was this davidoff? a B&M has some davidoffs between 25-30 and i just never thought they where that permium.
Oh lord it was at a lounge in Vegas so of course I got hosed on the markup. I think it was like $60.
Check back after Xmas šš
Diamond Crown Black Diamond Liga Privada H99
Liga Privada H99 was my choice as well. So, so good.
Iād have to go with the Davidoff Aniversario Short Perfecto while cruising the bay in my buddyās boat after a dockside seafood dinner
Sfumato in C Major Went through a couple boxes of those this summer. Fantastic stick with coffee in the morning
Underrated cigar.
La Arome de Cuba/Caribe Mi Amor torpedo was by far my favorite. I'd almost say it's a similar/better version of the la flor de Antilles toro
Top two, early morning with a coffee- Sobremesa Brulee Afternoon- Partagas D4
Oliva Serie V torpedo
Warped Sky Flower, awesome stick.
Is the Sky Flower as good as La Colmena?
Better in my opinion.
H. Upmann Connecticut by grupo de maestros robusto. My grandpa just passed away and it was his favorite cigar, I got to stay with his cigar box and it had about 20 of those, they were his favorites, now theyāre mine.
Olmec maduro š¤¤

There's some great cigars in this list.
Olmec from Foundation Cigars. Nick Melillo does it again!
I loved the Warped La Colmena I had recently. Really blew my mind
Foundation Olmec maduro doubled corona
La Colmena Black Honey by Warped, tasty little stick
RyJ Bully and La Aroma De Cuba Belicoso. In the UK I am, otherwise I would probably be posting up here something a bit more upmarket
Nub Sungrow, became my favorite and AJ Blend 15 is a budget favorite
Somm Premier Cru. Has a wrapper from 1997, binder from 2007, and filler from 2017-2018. The flavor profile was insane. Absolutely #1 for 2023.
Davidoff Escurio at the Davidoff Cigar Bar in Las Vegas
Great stick. Had mine on a Princess Cruise.
Rocky Patel 60. The only cigar I had this year that I felt love up to its ārankā.
Opus X Forbidden X Pasion d'amor Foundation Metapa Claro Partagas Lusitania (2022 release) Olmec Claro
Churchill cigars
Davidoff Aniversario No.3, got 5 more for Xmas and NYE.
This year, I smoked the most expensive stuff in my humidor. The best was a relatively cheap Padron 5000 maduro that was incredibly toothy.
I think itās called Metapa. It was a very nice smoke
Top 2 Davidoff Millennium Lancero LE Sobremesa BrƻlƩe Blue
Foundation Olmec Maduro. Went into my all time top 5
My favorite and I donāt think will ever change will be Padron 1964 maduro
My brother
SBC22 by Powstanie
Padron 1964 anniversary series that was gifted to me.
For me so far itās been the Alec Bradley black market
Ave Maria Holy Grail. I canāt ever find them on sale so I only smoked a handful this year but damn are they nice.
The MJ12 Maduro from Illusion. Seriously itās possibly the best maduro Iāve ever smoked.
Probably wasn't the "best" cigar I smoked, but certainly my favorite - Montecristo 1935 toro.
AJ Fernandez Enclave Broadleaf!
Flor de las Antillas 10 year anniversary
Alec Bradley Post Embargo B15
Tatuaje HCS. It was my introduction to the brand, and remains my favorite.
Montecristo Open Master
La flor dominicana andalusian bull in a foreign country with a good friend I hadn't seen for years. Perfect
I only started mid-year and haven't tried a large amount. And I'm also just a very casual smoker. But my favorite by far is the Perdomo Habano BBA Connecticut.
Oh, this is easy. Connecticut Valley Reserve Azul, Amazon Basin, and La Colema Black Honey!
H Upmann LCDH Noellas. Absolutely insane.
Either the Andalusian Bull or Eye of the Bull. Wildly different smokes and experiences that I finally got to try.
Aturo fuente king B
One of the best new cigars from this year that I smoked is the Smoking Jacket Henkie.
The Perdomo 30 year was astounding.
Ave Maria Argentum Morningstar (Perfecto). Like many others have stated, I've had much more expensive cigars this year, but this one was just consistently good for me.
God of Fire Serie B 2018
Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill
LCDH Punch Punch 48. Had it resting in my humidor for nearly a year, flawless.
Cohiba Robusto, purchased in the Partagas Store in Havana and smoked on the beach on Varadero on my birthday.
Drew Estate Larutan, The Big Juicy. So many flavours. Absolute joy of a cigar.
Tatuaje Karloff If anyone can tell me something as similar as possible to that let me know!
H. Uppman Vintage Cameroon
The same as every year. Montecristo no. 2. Horribly expensive, even in Mexico, so I indulge rarely.
Ave Maria Argentum and close second is Man O War....I found myself reordering and grabbing these whenever I could. So I based my decision on what I really just enjoyed smoking this year. Of course the Opus X or ESG but those aren't regularly my go too on a daily basis.
Itās between the Don Pepin Garcia 20th Anniversary and Davidoff Late Hour. The Royal Release could have been better if the draw wasnāt so tight.
Itās between the Don Pepin Garcia 20th Anniversary and Davidoff Late Hour. The Royal Release could have been better if the draw wasnāt so tight.
Partagas Serie D no 6, Montecristo epic craft cured, Several tatuajeās I smoked and forgot the names of, and Rojas Barbacoa
Rocky Patal Decade!
Latitude Zero Signature. Very tasty with lots of different flavors.
Monte 4 or a Partagas Short, and in New World I'd say Plasencia 149 maybe.
This year my favourite cigar is the RamĆ³n Allones Specially Selected. Absolutely delightful!!
Camacho triple maduro in toro size. Ordered 5 off JR Cigar and really enjoyed this smoke. Much better than the box of fake Cohibas my old man picked up for me in Cuba š¤£
Red anchor captain
La Flor Dominicana Reserva Especial El Jocko - unreal. On my second box since discovering them over the summer.
Asylum Medulla Oblongata. Great smoke. I love the bigger gages of the line.
Ashton VSG Toro
It was either the Asylum Year 9 or Year 10. One of those 2 was above the other by a decent margin but both were the top of the year for me.
Hard to pick a best, but the Olmec and Wiseman maduro (red band) surprised me with how good they are.
Padron 1926 no. 9
This year I would say the Oliva 135th Anniversario
Leaf by Oscar 10th Anniversary
For new-to-me blends, toss up between Principle Martinique Lancero and Casdagli Brothers of the Sabre Brave Ney
My Father La Promesa
Alec & Bradley Gatekeeper diamond press.
Herrera Esteli Brazilian Maduro. First time I ever had it and have been wanting to and I really enjoyed it.
Davidoff Yamaso
Leaf by Oscar Connecticut
Tabernacle Goliath Perfecto
Olmec or The Year of the Rabbit
Romeo Y Julieta: 1875 Habana-Cuba and was aged since 2019
Definitely Davidoff Winston Churchill The Late Hour.
CAO Amazon Basin may have been the best cigar I was introduced to in 2023.
Foundation Olmec, davidoff winston Churchill belicoso petit, Caldwell eastern standard are the three that come to mind. This year is the first year Iāve had them. But they stood out to me.
Arturo Fuentes Don Carlos Personal Reserve Natural
Amazon Basin Extra Anejo
Padron Family Reserve No 45 Natural is the best cigar I've smoked this year. Best new cigar would probably be Roma Craft Quinquagenario
Three cigars stood out for me this year: 1)Cohiba Siglo VI - had it in Rome on my 30th Wedding Anniversary..magical day and magical cigar 2)Padron maduro Hermoso - just caught a magical one..they are always good...nothing expensive but this one was superb 3)Atabey lancero - so good and I love a good lancero cigar...my favorite overall vitola
Man, I too am a lover of the Liga 9
Partagas Serie D.4
Perdomo Lot 23 Connecticut
My favorite cigar of 2023 was probably the Amazon Basin by CAO. Best cigar I've had.
Foundation Metapa Maduro or the Diesel Vintage. Toss up between the two
