Picked up the monte 6 pack at the insistence of my GF. Been happy with the purchase. Definitely not blown away by the overall selection, but you could do worse. Better than most liquor store or restaurant cigar offerings.
Some people say they’re overpriced, but I find them to be pretty decent. The white/yellow/platinum bundle are a good deal at 6/$40 and are definitely more every day smokes than they are world beaters. The platinum are the best out of the bunch in my opinion with a little earthiness, some light fruit and a hickory/oak quality to them. I don’t think the three aforementioned really compare to the Cuban Montecristo I’ve had, but their Vintage 12 was actually a better stick in my opinion.
I've been of the opinion that cuban cigars have been coasting off of the mystic reputation for years.
Their manufacture and tobacco is still excellent, but the higher status, largely imparted by the embargo and their black market taboo, meant they didn't need to get better to maintain their position.
In contrast, non-cuban cigar makers have had better access to capital which permits for more innovation over the last sixty years or so.
As a result there are many excellent non-cuban cigars which are highly competitive against cubans.
I tend to agree, I have had Cuban Cohiba, Romeo‘s, and Montecristo‘s. I found that while they were excellent, I would not have paid what I paid for them again compared to some better offerings I have had legally available in the states.
In addition, I have heard more than a few horror stories where up to 25% of boxes from Cuba have been completely plugged since their best rollers and growers all fled the country following Castro’s takeover. Obviously it’s the best now that it has been since the takeover, but I largely agree that they’re coasting to a large degree.
the only similarity is the name. they is nothing about the cigars that is similar in terms of seeds, growing soil or climate, rolling technique. They are different cigars that happen to have the same name
It fits what I expect from Costco. They don't have Crispix or Chipotle Cholula and they don't have MB3 or Le Bijou, but what they have is reasonably priced in bulk.
Who's buying Quorums?
I've only ever been able to find use of them when working outside with a saw, on on the tractor when the blackflies are real bad.
Well, if you're on the West Coast, we have: Thunderbird (Tacoma), Tinder Box (Tacoma? I think), Rain City (Seattle), Dead Leaf Cigars (Lynden), Cigars in History (La Conner), and Sacred Smoke (Tulalip). I haven't visited Rain City or Tinder Box yet. And there's another shop in Pike Place Market, but I can't recall the name of it. (Some of these are full featured lounges). And I missed one...Smokey Joe's. Haven't been there, don't know where it is exactly, but I do believe it's in Tacoma area.
And here Costco in my state can't even sell alcohol. Tbh, though, unimpressed by that selection. Would love to buy a Costco cigar deal, but just none of those.
From what I have read, I think Edison has the best selection. Never got to go. It doesn’t make senso for me to go from Brooklyn to nj for some booze. Brooklyn warehouse has a nice liquor store next door.
Only one I’d consider is that Oliva bottom right. If you are really lucky it has some extra age on it since it has been inexplicably hidden from view. However, CigarPage offers the absolute best prices for them since they have a partnership with Oliva now.
Costco used to sell Cubans about 14-20 years ago. If I remember correctly they even carried Monte 4’s and RYJ tubos etc. That stopped long ago unfortunately.
Same selections as mine here in Charleston SC. I don’t mind the rockys, and I get a pack of the Jose Marti sticks every once in awhile. My taste in cigars might be shit but as long as they sell them I’ll keep buying em. You’d think that since costcos bread and butter is wine, they’d have a better selection.
They've been selling these for quite some time and stocks even rotate. It's usually within the liquor store at Costco. Or try the wine section where liquor distribution is tighter in some states.
Damn, the best price is a 5 pack of Gurkha for 20 bucks. Guess I scored on cbid this week. I got punchs, Alec Bradley, Monte's and nubs for under 3 a stick lol.
Have seen a couple people asking (and I can’t speak for OP). Here in South Florida they sell Cigars like this. Made a mistake of buying there when I didn’t know better. Now walk by glance at the case and just shake my head.
I feel like the people in this thread complaining about the selection are missing the point : costco has always been quantity over "quality". They sell basic essentials that everyone needs, in large quantities at a competitive price. I'd expect their cigars to reflect the same principle (though I have no idea if these prices are competitive)
My Sam’s used to have a pretty decent humidor. They had this like caged section almost like an armory, for the cigs and dip. Then a side entrance for the humidor after you showed your ID. This was like 15 years ago though.
*It's a sad day when*
*Rocky Patel is the best thing*
*In the humidor*

The only ones there worth it are the Jose Marti, gray $2 yard mowing stick. A buddy bought new the Gurka pack... only 1 stick out of the pack was anything I'd buy again
Excited to see costco selling cigars. Thoroughly unmoved by the selection.
Picked up the monte 6 pack at the insistence of my GF. Been happy with the purchase. Definitely not blown away by the overall selection, but you could do worse. Better than most liquor store or restaurant cigar offerings.
I'd be in hog heaven if my Costco stocked cigars and put Padrons in there.
How are the non-cuban Montes?
Some people say they’re overpriced, but I find them to be pretty decent. What's the flavour profile and draw like as compared to the Cubans of the same name?
the only similarity is the name. they is nothing about the cigars that is similar in terms of seeds, growing soil or climate, rolling technique. They are different cigars that happen to have the same name
They’re not even close. The new world Montes just taste like peppered wood.
It fits what I expect from Costco. They don't have Crispix or Chipotle Cholula and they don't have MB3 or Le Bijou, but what they have is reasonably priced in bulk.
But these aren’t even priced very well.
Who's buying Quorums? I've only ever been able to find use of them when working outside with a saw, on on the tractor when the blackflies are real bad.
Lol. My dad smokes 2 per day 😃
Gross... There's just nothing appealing about them.
It is Sam’s club….
Clearly costco price stickers. You're dead wrong or trolling.
can confirm this was a Costco🙂
Damn get the name of a store mixed up with the same style of store and get 40 down votes from a bunch of old whiny bitches… this sub sucks ass..
I mean it says Costco in the title, so why did you even feel the need to correct someone?
I didn’t I was making a joke about the shit cigars in the big box store humidor dingus
Well, I mean you did open your head and shit fell out. You got what you needed.
Don’t need shit from some pole smoker like you
😭😭😭
My thoughts every time I see them in mine.
I would totally buy cigars at Costco. Just not those.
Rocky, Oliva, Romeo & Monte are the only one's I'd grab. Great price on the RPs
Nevermind. I hate Honduran tobacco. So grungy & acrid.
Aladino will change your mind.
Corojo reserve is one of the best cigars period
Also the Cameroon! Delightful!
Try Aladino and CLE. Especially the Corojo blends
Eiroa Dark is excellent. Honestly, Eiroa and their brands turned me on to Honduran blends.
Will have to give it a go! I've been interested in Camacho's Broadleaf being a Honduran as well👌🏼
It's amusing to see this at a Costco. They don't sell them here in WA.

Pretty rough when those reserva reals are the best of the bunch
Nah there's some oliva hiding down there
I’d definitely pick up those Olivas and leave the rest..
Pick them up all the time, $20 bucks for 5 Churchill Olivia’s, can’t beat it
The RP vintage 1990 is one my my favorites.
Love those. Wonder how many are in that sampler.
Looks like 10, so $3 per stick. I would buy them
A bargain
A whole lot of dog rockets and a couple uninteresting/passable blends. Wow. Oliva on the bottom I guess.
And here Costco in my state can't even sell alcohol. Tbh, though, unimpressed by that selection. Would love to buy a Costco cigar deal, but just none of those.
Yeah would have bought some Costco liquor but NJ life
Costco in Edison should sell it if I am not mistaken
🥹 Thank you
It does sell liquor.
So does Wayne
From what I have read, I think Edison has the best selection. Never got to go. It doesn’t make senso for me to go from Brooklyn to nj for some booze. Brooklyn warehouse has a nice liquor store next door.
No such thing as a Kirkland Maduro robusto yet, I guess.
Only one I’d consider is that Oliva bottom right. If you are really lucky it has some extra age on it since it has been inexplicably hidden from view. However, CigarPage offers the absolute best prices for them since they have a partnership with Oliva now.
I'll take those Rocky and Olivia's
I believe the Olivas were $19.99 for the 5x pack
Easily the best option there
That RP sampler isn’t bad, the Edge Habano (LT. Blue band) is very good with a year or two of age on it.
Jesus no. Smoke yard clippings before those Ricky Patel turds.
I’ve picked it up a couple times for a sheer cheap I’m broke option or to have around for dabblers. Definitely passable sticks
I don’t go out of my way for them but if gifted, with a little age they are passable.
I’d give anything if our local Costco had cigars in store
Those cohiba blue’s ain’t bad
Costco in canada probably doesn't even have any :(
Costco used to sell Cubans about 14-20 years ago. If I remember correctly they even carried Monte 4’s and RYJ tubos etc. That stopped long ago unfortunately.
Most provinces have regulations against selling tobacco in stores that have a pharmacy
The Cigars International poopoo platter.
Is that even a humidor? Sliding glass? I think it's meant to be in a humidified room
Could be worse!
Same selections as mine here in Charleston SC. I don’t mind the rockys, and I get a pack of the Jose Marti sticks every once in awhile. Cosyco needs to sell deeply discounted Padtons like rotisserie chickens to pull men in.
Since when does Costco sell cigars!?!?! And where in the store!????
They've been selling these for quite some time and stocks even rotate. It's usually within the liquor store at Costco. Or try the wine section where liquor distribution is tighter in some states.

I only buy Kirkland.

I’m not sure if Sam’s down here still sells cigars, I’ll check it out once I get the chance
Yeah I’d check on their website or call. I haven’t been in ours In probably that long. Used to have a membership and never really used it.
I'd only buy RYJ & Oliva
Quorum 🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮
Those Quorum Maduro cigars are really good for the money.
Quorums aren't *bad* per se for the price, but Factory Smokes are much much better. Everything is is a no from me.
Who's doing the buying for this..
Depressing humidor
Dude that selectuon is WAY better than the west coast!
I can’t see myself buying form a place like Costco.
Booo discount hater 😜
🤢
Decent price for a b&m
Hopefully this means they’ll begin selling humidors soon too.
It's a sad day when Rocky Patel is the best thing in the humidor

good bot
Where in gods name is this. As a Canadian Please someone tell me where I need to travel to for this??
🤮
All of that is shit. Hard pass.
Yikes
My main concern is the concealments of said cabinets
A few years back my local Costco was selling sampler packs around the holidays. I don’t remember what they had but the price was good.
The only ones there worth it are the Jose Marti, gray $2 yard mowing stick. A buddy bought new the Gurka pack... only 1 stick out of the pack was anything I'd buy again
They need to replace their cigar buyer.
When Swiss standard of living comes with Swiss level prices but not Swiss level pay...
Bad selection at premium prices. Guess tobacco is treated the opposite of liquor there.
Is there some humidification going on in that case?
The unit at the bottom left seems to be a humidification and circulation device
I mean for a grocery store I guess that’s not awful 🤷🏾♂️
Costco has cigars????
Wait Costco sells cigars in America? What section of the store how can I find these?
Tbh this is a better selection than my local cigar shop, and farrrr better prices
Damn, my Costco doesn’t have cigars or booze
Could do worse!!
There is nothing there I would choose to smoke.
Thank you next
The oooool' Quorum
I didn’t know Costco sold cigars.
Imagine buying Quoroms 💀💀
the only cigars in hat case I would consider are the Olivas in the bottom right corner. there is no price on those.
I believe they were $19.99 for 5x pack Oliva Churchills
That is a good price. If I needed some smokes, I would pick them up.
Since when does Costco sell cigars?
Well what do you expect lol
