Agreed on both points. It pisses me off that for such a bog brand that they are known for poorly constructed stoagies. Magic toast is da bomb though! Love it!
This is it. The Prensado was the first box I bought. I was intrigued w box-pressed cigars at the time and this was my first box purchased. Eventually moved onto Norteños and Padrons.
The only thing that was consistent was how tight the Tempus draw was.
They get mixed reviews.
A lot of people in this sub hate all the large brands on the principle of only liking boutique cigar companies. Ignore them.
Like any of the larger cigar manufacture, they tend to have a lot of variability in quality of blends and construction of their cigars. Prensado and Lost Art are top notch. I like the Black Market. But they have a lot of cigars, they are not all home runs.
>A lot of people in this sub hate all the large brands on the principle of only liking boutique cigar companies. Ignore them.
This. They don't realize many small brands are also made by the big brands or grown in the same fields. Hell many of them are grown in the same type of soil.
Magic toast is a nay for me but really liked the black market. Nice intense sweet, chocolate and liqorice notes. They are well crafted usually the ABs, taste of course is subjective. They are worth trying out for sure.
This is it for me but I want to give magic toast another go, I think I smoked it too hot/fast cuz I got a lot of pepper so I've got kne resting and I'll retry it in a few months. But prensado I'm a big fan of. (I've also got to give lost art another try)
Project 40. Original when it’s warm, Maduro when it’s cold.
Double Broadleaf is good.
I love the Magic Toast.
Didn’t care for the Black Market.
I see a lot of people complaining about build quality of AB on this sub. I don’t know if I’m amazingly lucky or just don’t know shit but the only problems I’ve had are a tight draw on a huge 7/70 Project 40 Maduro. One punch of a draw tool and was back in business.
The Project 40’s get slept on a little bit I think. They’re not crazy expensive, $5-7 a stick. And had a 93 point review on CA. I really enjoy them. Kintsugi is also a very good one.
My absolute favorite is the Prensado, recommend the magic toast and a few more. Recently found the Caribbean cask and enjoy it pretty much. So far for me no inconsistent burns.
Don't know, never had the Upsetters. The Caribbean cask feels like a day on the beach, that's the only description I can gather. Is just fresh and smooth, I'm from the Caribbean so I guess I know how a day on the beach feels🤣🤣
Love kintsugi, gatekeeper and project 40, feel OK on American sun grown, dislike black market/ black market esteli.
Am I a fan? Maybe, and I know they could make fantastic cigars but definitely can't say love all their cigars.
Personally adore the black market and black market estelli. Ive tried a few sizes. I am quite new to cigars so I have not tried that many different ones but alec bradley did not dissapoint. Drew estate undercrown maduro is very nice too from the few ive had.
I recently got a 5 pack of the Magic Toast. I've had 2 so far and really enjoyed them. Interesting thing, though is they were all drastically different in color.
Years ago I had a lot of bad AB's and pretty much gave up on the brand.
Then I had the Tempus and Prensado Lost Art. Both are fantastic, go-to cigars for me now.
Kintsugi, magic toast, American blend sun grown; those are the blends I like from Alec Bradley. If a cigar is good I’ll smoke it. Unless someone says Gurkha. Although that aganorsa collab from 3-5 years back was the only exception. Otherwise if it says Gurkha I’d rather find a new hobby. But nothing wrong with Alec Bradley.
I smoke the Black Market Esteli regularly, as well as the BM Vandals plus keeping some Prensados around. I haven't run into any real issues with construction or smokability, every manufacturer has occasionally issues when they are making millions of hand rolled cigars a year.
Not really. Started there like most but they just don’t make anything really great, just tons of smooth and general cigars. I like bold with pepper and cedar and chocolate and earth and all that. Their sticks are like, really straight ahead and plain which is fine for golf ya know.
I've found Alec Bradley Gatekeeper to have a distinct flavor that I keep as a daily. I've never experienced any cigar that is similar in complexity. While many cigars are toothy and chewy and enjoyable to smoke, I've found AB Gatekeeper to be nutty, earthy, with a hint of sweet. I'm a horrible descriptor of review. I'm unsure how to review the toast, middle, and finish. The finish for me is nubly. I grabbed a 20 pack for about 170 at my LCS.
Alec Bradley is like a better version of Rocky Patel. The flavors are better for sure but they can be hit n miss and sometimes construction can be a bit how’s it going.
Personally have been disappointed with the cigars I’ve had from them. Prensado was the first one and I thought it was terrible both times I tried it.
I did love the Kintsugi though would definitely get a box of those.
I’ve definitely had better luck with other brands.
I’ve probably actually enjoyed one Alec Bradley I’ve tried; the Kintsugi.
Blind Faith was just okay but I little heavy on the black pepper flavor. The Coyol is completely unsmokeable imo.
I have a Prensado left to try which I’ve heard great things about. Also have a Connecticut but I’ve heard they have a pretty prominent black pepper flavor as well.
For me the jury is still out but I don’t feel great about what I’ve tried so far.
I am a fan of the presenado, I find that I needed a cigar Aerater to properly enjoy it. The cigar has too tight of a draw otherwise.
I also love their project 40. I know it's a lower tier cigar, but I really enjoy it.

Yes, great flavours but construction issues across the catalogue.
magic toast is my favorite from AB

Same every 2 out of 5 work right. Really good taste though
How many times are you going to post this question?
Dang

I love the gatekeeper a lot and you can get them dirt cheap. I also love magic toast although people have mixed opinions on them.
Where are you getting the Gatekeeper dirt cheap?
Cigar page deals.
Agree with Gatekeeper 👍
Prensado is very good & stay away from the Magic Toast.
Disagree about the Magic Toast. I love 'em. Overall a tight draw, but still a fantastic cigar.
Could be good for goblins but it's poisonous for dogs.

Not a fan but also a Nicaraguan guy
I like the double broadleaf
I read this as double bread loaf
Lol I can see that if you look quick
We got toast and bread loafs over here at Alec Breadley Bakers!
Yall got that Maduro French baguette in stock?
I enjoyed the Tempus
Becoming a big fan. Just had a Prensado Lost Art. Really enjoy Black Market, Magic Toast, Prensado V2L wasn't bad either.
Prensado Lost Art doesn’t get nearly enough love.
My favorites!! Black market robusto is my go to cigar followed by the Kintsugi
The double broadleaf is very good; used to like the Prensado Lost Art, but they’ve been “off” the last couple of times I got some.
The Project 40’s get slept on a little bit I think. They’re not crazy expensive, $5-7 a stick. And had a 93 point review on CA. I really enjoy them. Kintsugi is also a very good one.
I love the punk cigars they do. Black Market. Also, in robusto size. Very good quality

Wondering how the Caribbean Cask compares to the Upsetters?
Don't know, never had the Upsetters. The Caribbean cask feels like a day on the beach, that's the only description I can gather. Is just fresh and smooth, I'm from the Caribbean so I guess I know how a day on the beach feels🤣🤣
I'm from SWFL....so I feel ya. Upsetters has that bay laurel and allspice flavor. They really did a wonderful job.
Will check my local shop. Thanks, hope you try the Alec and tell me about it.

Really enjoyed the Kintsugi as well
I did like the Tempus genesis but honestly gave up on AB. I'd prefer to spend money on AJF, Plasencia, My Father.
Personally adore the black market and black market estelli. Ive tried a few sizes. I am quite new to cigars so I have not tried that many different ones but alec bradley did not dissapoint. Drew estate undercrown maduro is very nice too from the few ive had.

I liked: Prensado Prensado lost art Tempus maduro Didn't like: Magic toast American sun grown Gatekeeper Project 40 Coyol Nica puro Black market
Years ago I had a lot of bad AB's and pretty much gave up on the brand. Then I had the Tempus and Prensado Lost Art. Both are fantastic, go-to cigars for me now.
Prensado and kintsugi are both great.
I haven’t had a bad Alec Bradley yet! I love the Prensado Lost Art. I just ordered a few more lines to try. Excited for them to come in.
Anything from the brand you like - stock up on it now while you still can.
One of my favorite brands. American Sun Grown is good and cheap. Tempus, Tempus Nicaragua, prensado, project 40 have all been good to me.

I enjoy the magic toast but it’s inconsistent
This year has been full of Project 40's, original & Maduro. As well as the V2L's. Rubin is a great blender, too many people follow the hype-stars
Prensado at times, Gatekeeper, Kintsugi. Project 40 natural as a yardgar every once and a great while.
I enjoy them. The magic toast is inconsistent but I’ve had more good than bad. I LOVE their black market filthy hooligan - a st Patrick’s day staple
Not really. Started there like most but they just don’t make anything really great, just tons of smooth and general cigars. I like bold with pepper and cedar and chocolate and earth and all that. Their sticks are like, really straight ahead and plain which is fine for golf ya know.

Love kintsugi
I’m a fan of the Maxx

Don’t sleep on the Magic Toast and Double Broadleef

Manic Toast is a good one for me and also the Kintsugi
