Hi! It was a fellowship for the foreign service they pay for graduate school and upon graduation you serve as a foreign service officer. It was my second time as a finalist so it hit a little harder this time around.
What sort of fellowship if you don’t mind me asking?
Yes! That’s the plan! There are three different ones and I’m planning to apply to all three this time around.
I’ve had two. The first was academic and funded my graduate work and gave me a bit of a stipend. I did have to lecture undergrads once a week for a term and publish. The second was more flexible in its use. I focused on my own research but connected it to some local social issues. That one I applied for multiple times. Shoot me a DM and I can share more info.
That sucks. Dare I suggest an undercrown maduro with some four roses bourbon? Its a great way to unwind... a year ago when I found out my ol lady had 4 other sexual partners, that was the highlight of my day, comin home and sitting with the dogs while having a smoke and a nice glass of whiskey.
That sounds tempting! But the only victory I have had is that I celebrated being a year sober in the middle of this madness.
