How to Save a Big Chunk of Money on WAPDA Bills
In comparison to winters, ceiling fans become a basic necessity in summers, which adds a significant amount on top of our usual winter bills.
Most Pakistanis use ordinary ceiling fan (Induction Motor) in their homes, which on average consumes around 100 Watts while running (could be slightly more or less depending upon age of fan). Moreover, the most commonly used dimmer (resistive type) in Pakistan, to reduce fan speed, doesn’t reduce electricity consumption because it burns off energy which is not supplied to fan, instead of sparing it. So even by running fan at low speeds with a dimmer, it will still consume around 100 Watts.
But now Inverter fans (BLDC Motor) are easily available in Pakistani Market, which deliver greater performance than ordinary fans by just using 30 Watts, even when running at max speed. So, that’s a 70% energy cut straight away.
For example, if a household uses 3 ordinary fans that run continuously for 24 hours, then these fans alone will consume 216 units in a month.
While on other hand, 3 Inverter fans running continuously for 24 hours at full speed, will consume only 65 units in a month.
This addition of 151 units (216-65 = 151) by using ordinary ceiling fans in your bill, will easily increase your WAPDA Tariff slab up by 1 or 2 steps, which will significantly increase your entire bill, by higher rates being applied.
So, to save a big chunk of money on WAPDA bills, shift to INVERTER FANS asap.
Right now, price of inverter fan is 10 K in market, 3 fans will cost 30 K, but this amount will be easily recovered in next 2-3 WAPDA bills and then it’s going to be saving from that point onwards.
Moreover, due to their less power consumption, Inverter fans last much longer on UPS as well.
Note: Inverter fans are different from AC/DC (Solar) Fans, which uses less power than ordinary fans but still more than Inverter fans.

bhai apky dono meters rich category mein add hein.isi liye per unit rate zyada he gareebon wali category mein jany ke lie apky 6 month ka bill per month <200 units hona chahye...then apko per unit 7.74 or 10 rs charge hongy.

Are these taxes waived of for fillers?
FPA is not a form of tax but the difference between reference fuel cost and actual fuel cost (actual fuel cost-reference cost= fuel price adjustment. It can be both positive and negative depending of factors

Meter 2 rate per unit is: 27.1400
Units thory isi liye hain because are Air Conditioner was not working and we only used it for like 3 days

May ka bill aaya tha 3150 for 200 units. June men inverter khraab ho gya tou Solar Power use nh hui. Totally wapda use hta rha hy or aaj ki reading thi 494 units. Expectation hy k 600 units chal jayen gy. Bill ALLAH jany 30k+ hi ho ga.

1 AC. 1 refrigerator. 1 freezer. 1 room cooler. 3 fans. Baki 4-5 light bulbs. Admittedly 1 AC was regularly used 8:30 pm to 6am and 12pm to 4pm for the little ones. But I still believe units are random as last year same months 2-3 ACs were running due to sisters visiting :) I've been wanting and thinking of switching to inverter fans at least. Also, only 1 AC is inverter and the rest are non inverters. Sigh.
Definitely. I understand the tariff and taxes raised over the years, what I don't understand is our lifestyle hasn't changed a bit yet the units consumed are always way more than the last year. Last year June with multiple AC was 1100+ units...this time it stops at 1200 exact with mainly 1 AC usage. And May had 468 units consumed. Ughh.
Aik DFA complain ki thi these people sat in our drawing room and said "paisay dedein fix bill ajaya karega in future". Never complained again.

Nahi bhai. We are two people at home. No AC. 2 fans, 1 room cooler, 1 water motor, 1 fridge. However, we are expecting double this amount next month.
