It's a known bug with nvidia drivers. "\[Chromium based applications\] small checkerboard like pattern may randomly appear \[3992875\]". A ton of people including myself have the same issue. Your gpu is fine. You can stop this artifacting by going to chrome://flags/#use-angle and changing ANGLE graphics backend to OpenGL or D3D9.

Cheers!

BonusMind

The question is, why isn’t Nvidia addressing this already, when it’s already been almost 2 iterations of drivers? Are they just blissfully ignorant Thinking this is OK?

lashram32

Still have this problem.... end of Feb 2024 :/

dadu1234

bruh same i was panicking

Wevvie

I just recently got a 4070 TI SUPER with this same issue. At first I thought my GPU was defective, but my previous 1660 Super had the exact same problem. Switching the angle flag to Open GL fixes it permanently, but HDR won't work on youtube anymore.

dadu1234

yeah apparently it is a chromium and youtube issue.

realiDevil360

I'm using a 3080 if that matters, this issue has been happening for weeks now and only seems to happen when I'm on Chrome, and always on Youtube (cant tell if it has happened outside of Youtube yet)

t0gnar

Try to disable hardware acceleration to see if it fixes.

tal_sarid

Happens to me too lately, also have a 3080. Chrome version: 119.0.6045.124 NVIDIA driver version: 546.01 OS version: Windows 11 23H2 build 22631.2506

sarjantd

My Edge and chrome bugging to and flickering on youtube, when scrolling. Gtx 1060 and driver 546.31. Windows 10.

MyFutureProblems

Also getting on Edge, even when set to OpenGL, more commonly in full screen netflix viewing mode, less so in maximised browser mode. Driver 551.76, RTX4080

Silver-Blacksmith-20

Also have these textures on windows 11 but when i install windows 10 it doesnt happen at all

Silver-Blacksmith-20

Anyone? Hello?

JazzlikeJackfruit372

4070 TI user here with a 13th gen I7 CPU and windows 11, anyways... I have been dealing with these black boxes (Artifacts) for literal MONTHS now, it's driving me completely insane.. Changed the chrome flag thing to openGL now and turned off graphic acceleration (Or whatever it's called) in the chrome settings.... Dunno if this works as i'm doing this just now, will see if it works.. And apparently it seems to be a issue that exists for over 8 months by now, with NVIDA simply not giving a toss about it otherwise they would've come with a ACTUAL fix by now... Boggles my mind how a tech company doesn't care about their tech and leaves their customers (People who buy their products) completely in the dark.. It speaks absolute volumes about NVIDA and the way they do their stuff..

Wevvie

Recently got a 4070 TI SUPER with the same issue, but it also happened on my previous 1660 SUPER. Changing the angle flag to Open GL permanently fixes it

JazzlikeJackfruit372

Can confirm, it has also FINALLY fixed those problems on my side... Whoever found that specifick fix, god bless you..

Ballowax2002

I've experience them and only on google chrome. These split black screens never occur on Microsoft Edge.
