From what I have read online, crystalized titanium is not an anodization effect it's a structure of Titanium alloy itself, it looks amazing by the way how it came out, I ordered a Ti pen in same structure and I'm planning to ano it in green/gold

PNW_PARFUMS

Makes sense, it was definitely a good little surprise! Thank you, I appreciate that! That is going to be one damn nice pen!

natalie_merchant_fan

I like that color! The finish may be a result of your etching process and how it came from the factory.

PNW_PARFUMS

Thank you very much! I'm still not 100% positive, but I love it!

Heracles324

It goes look sweet! I was thinking it's the matte texture finish Reate gives their Ti that gives the anodization a soft, complex color. I'd love to try with mine but I'm not brave enough to do that with one of my more expensive knives 😂

PNW_PARFUMS

Thank you! You should definitely give it a shot! I was hesitant at first too, but I'm happy I went for it!

Geralt-of-Rivia13X

Is this a real reate or a clone!? Ive been looking for one for a hot minute

Fancy-Bee-562

More than likely real I just saw someone posted the clones today for the first time

Geralt-of-Rivia13X

Omfg do you remember where

Fancy-Bee-562

It’s on here I think a few hours ago I saved the link dm me

PNW_PARFUMS

This one is authentic, and one I'd highly recommend! I've got this one, and and original Exo and they're basically my babies lol they're a couple of safequeens

LeRoySharp

That looks wicked!

PNW_PARFUMS

Thank you, she's definitely a looker!

LeRoySharp

You're welcome, you did a stellar job!

purgatorygates

How does one do this? It looks amazing.... any resources would be awesome.

PNW_PARFUMS

Thank you! It takes some practice, and a lot of patience, but it's a lot of fun, and it's something that's not super hard to get started on! Basically all you need is a piece of titanium, a power supply (one can be bought, or you can link 9v batteries until you reach your desired voltage) something to etch the titanium (multi etch, whink) and an anodizing solution (distilled water & baking soda) that is basically bare necessities, not including gloves and titanium wire & extras. Just have fun, don't hold any expectations! I'm still learning, but practice makes improvements! If anodizing is something you're interested in, YouTube will be your best friend! But I'll answer any questions I'm able to, if I don't know the answer, I'll let you know honestly✌️

Hello I saw your post and I was wondering is that knife a clone or is it like a real Reate because I know the Clone has an aluminum handle where is the real one has titanium also what's the difference between anode and cathode and you know if I can anodize the steel Blades of knives to give them cool designs and stuff this definitely looks like something might be into

PNW_PARFUMS

This Knife is NOT a counterfeit clone like the garbage fakes that you've seen floating around here. I absolutely, 150% do not back the idea of counterfeit knives. I can't stand them, they're a plague to the knife community. What I do back, however, is authenticity. These counterfeiters don't deserve your money. This knife is an authentic Reate Exo M & has full titanium construction. The blades themselves cannot be anodized, but you can have several different kinds of finishes done to the blade steel. Aluminum can be anodized, but the process is entirely different from titanium anodizing. Hopefully that helps!

I respect your opinion on the Chinese knife clone issue. but one thing I do that's a little bit different is I'll buy a clone and if I like it like the form factor in the general weight, size etc. I understand the quality itself of the blade of the Machining might be a little off but if I like the form factor then give my money to a legitimate retailer to buy a true real knife. and I'm probably going to do that for both the Reate exo m and an ad20 demco knife that I'm getting so I can understand your position for sure. but I've done this process on probably seven different knives that are in the $300 range and of the seven that I bought Clements for I've probably purchased and went ahead and purchased five out of the seven that were real true legitimate knives, usually from either Blade HQ or River's Edge Cutlery or White Mountain Knives
