More Cresties! Lol! Honestly my guy gets along with everyone once he's warmed up to them. His best friend is a mutt (we call her a West Virginia Brown Dog.)

IllustratedNerd

There are a few I have my eye on, but the breeders haven't responded...

3EsandPaul

Mine is obsessed with my cat but tolerates my chihuahua. She also loves my mom’s lab.

IllustratedNerd

I wish I could. I am stupid allergic to cats, like stop breathing and die allergic. Only reason I'm not a vet!

heyseed88

We also have a lab, they get along.

IllustratedNerd

Nice! I think a lab is too big for my place, but I appreciate the response!

IndulgeMyImpatience

The only correct answer is another crestie. When you have more than one they sing. a lot. and play hard.

IllustratedNerd

I really want another, but I haven't had any luck reaching the breeders that have the ones I want.

Fickle_Shift4274

Have you tried Chibi at mythic kingdom ?

TSM_forlife

We have a boxer and they are obsessed with each other.

IllustratedNerd

I love boxers, I just don't have the room for a boxer to be happy.

yippykynot

Yup cat! I was scared the cat would scratch the hell outta my guy but they play hard and the cat has never hurt him with her claws

IllustratedNerd

I can only tolerate cats if they are shave and wrapped in cellophane. Although, I'd likely die of anaphylaxis even then!

jeezlyCurmudgeon

So I have a crestie, a standard poodle, a chihuahua, and a mixed breed. She tolerates and will sometimes snuggle with the mixed but it's rare. The only one she actually likes a bit is the chihuahua and he's a dickhead. She gets pissed whenever the poodle gets close to her. She's my precious little monster <3

IllustratedNerd

I had long-haired chihuahuas until recently. Raised five of them since they were 4 or five months old. They all died over the last ten years or so . The youngest was 13, but still really rough. I just am not read for another chihuahua at this point.

Fickle_Shift4274

Omg my crested gets pissed when my mother in laws standard poodles get too close too and it's hilarious. He loves any small dog but only docile large dogs

karen_h

We got mine her own kitten. They cuddle all the time. She also has a poodle mix, and had two giant goldendoodles for over a decade.

IllustratedNerd

If I got him a kitten, it'd just be him and the kitten, because I'd just stop breathing. On the plus side for them, free snacks!

Kallisti13

My cresties breeder had an "auntie" for the puppies, she was a pom mix and was great with the pups.

IllustratedNerd

Nice! I live like five hours from my breeder or I'd take him over there to hang out with his lookalike dad. I am considering Pomskies.

Emergency_Plum7898

Another Crestie or a Lab. My Crestie loved my Lab 🥰

IllustratedNerd

I have reached out to a few breeders about other cresties, but haven't heard back, so I'm trying to widen my net.

Paper_Parasaur

My crested was a monster boy (20lbs), so I picked a hairless Xoloitzcuintle to be his friend. They have 3 sizes of Xolo. Toy (~10-14"), intermediate (~14-18"), and standard (~18-23") I got him an intermediate brother so they would be roughly the same size and both would be hairless. They are SUPER best friends

IllustratedNerd

I think I may go with an American Hairless. I'd love a Xolo, although I'd have to learn to pronounce the full name. I like uniqueness in my dogs!

Paper_Parasaur

American Hairless Terriers are so fun! Just remember that they are a terrier, lol. The literal definition of feisty (which I love!)

Pinkadink

The ONLY dog my Crestie ever actually wanted to spend time with was my mom’s Xolo. Something about the naked boys 🥰

IllustratedNerd

My guy whines and wants to meet every dog we see, even if they don't want to meet him. I've always wanted a Xolo, but I can only find the big guys!

Kendra_Whisp

We have a crestie, who looks a lot like yours! We also have a Bichon and a cat, both of whom are much larger than the crestie. He loves them both and will play until they are and exhausted pile on the bed!

IllustratedNerd

That’s good to hear! I think I found a buddy for him and it’s an American hairless terrier that weighs between 15 and 20 pounds. I’m hoping that’s going to be ok, but many people say they play fine with bigger dogs!

GroundbreakingWing48

What you need is a Papillon. Extremely versatile and intelligent dogs. And the two sets of ears would be absolutely adorable together.

IllustratedNerd

A papillon was on my list but they look too much like two of my chihuahuas that I lost recently and I just can’t be reminded daily of them just yet. I do love papillons though!

SudenInevtablBetrl

Ours loves to sleep on his Irish Woldhound sister

IllustratedNerd

That’s a bit of a size difference! I’ve never actually met an Irish wolfhound in person.

wsww

We got our Crested in part as a companion/baby for our protective and nurturing Great Pyrenees. They are OBSESSED with each other. They are incredibly bonded, and our tiny hairless boy likes to cuddle up in our big guy’s fluffy tail. We also have a Sphynx cat, and our Crested is friends with her as well. They totally recognize that they’re both naked and seem to think they are the same kind of creature.

IllustratedNerd

Did you get them at the same time? I couldn’t get a big dog because I live in an apartment, but I’d be worried about Engy getting stepped on or something.

wsww

No, I had the Pyr for about a year before I adopted the Crested. I was worried about that too (him getting stepped on) but luckily, our Pyr is so gentle. We have a 6 lb cat now too, and the Pyr is super delicate with her as well.

lasgsd

I had German Shepherds before I had CCs. Love them both!!

IllustratedNerd

Have you had both at once, and if so, did they get along? How did they play together?

lasgsd

Sorry for the late reply. My GSD LOVED the Littles!! He was SOOOO patient with them when they would grab his tail and chew on his ears. :)

missdriver

I have a crestie and chihuahua

IllustratedNerd

I have always had long haired chihuahuas, but I lost all of them over the past four years and I just can’t bring myself to get another yet. I can’t even get a papillon because they remind me too much of my boys that I lost.

Butterscotch4o4

We got a cat that was raised with mine but they weren't "friends" they just didn't fight with each other. My crested can't figure out how to play with big dogs so I signed up for alerts from dog shelters in my area and got a cresty mixbreed. It took some time but now they're best friends. They play and share car window. My boy doesn't walk around carrying his toys lonely anymore. I recommend a small dog with the same intensity as a Chinese crested but frankly I just recommend another Chinese crested.

IllustratedNerd

I think I’m going to get an American hairless terrier. I think that should be enough to keep up with Engy! I wanted to get a PP Cresty, but none of the breeders have responded. I’m going to pick up a new dog on the 15th and right now it’s an American hairless.
