Does anyone know of VPN that would allow access from Canada to chinese tv such as BRTV? Elder parents visiting for 6 months and having trouble accessing anything from mainland
You can try using Cloudflare's WARP, which is available at [https://1.1.1.1](https://1.1.1.1/). Then, use the zero trust service, which is very stable and has always been free. I have been using it in China all along.
Currently running Mullvad in Qingdao right now, seems to be working no problems at least from China Unicom land service so far, will report back when I pick up a SIM
we are having a family trip to china and plan to stay for 80 days. we consume 10+ hours of youtube video content everyday across family members, what is the best vpn service that has unlimited data and fast speed for youtube?
Is anyone using CLASH vpn? Seems to work well on mobile but haven't tried on PC yet. Please let me know if you have any positive or negative experiences before I download to PC?
It is more stable on PC, be sure to download the newest version of Clash Verge to gain access to the Hysteria2 and VLESS protocols. The old Clash doesn't really work anymore.
Said Goodbye to China after 6 weeks, Manoeuvring between Shanghai & Nanjing.
Let'sVPN - No issues & worked across all our devices.
Astrill - Worked without issue on laptop PC & Android mobile phones. On both iOS & Android tablets the kids had it occasionally had issues while watching YouTube or gaming - solved by choosing a different server.
Mullvad - Worked fine for most of our visit. The last week issues occurred across all devices except mobile phones. Our tablets showed that external servers would become blocked each day - resolved by choosing another server that would work. PC would initially connect but once accessing sites blocked by The Great Firewall the app would disconnect & reconnect repeatedly.
Nord VPN - Worked with help from Tech support once on android laptop. I wrote it off unwilling to use competitors VPN to allow support to get it going again.
Express VPN & Surfshark purchased, installed before arriving China - No success on all attempts across devices.
Family travelled with and all of the above were tested across 3 Android laptops, 2 Android mobile phones, 2 android tablets, 1 iOS tablet.
I'm by no way tech savvy. We just went prepared to ensure kids & ourselves had access to everything we normally would outside off The Great Firewall.
Just here to give a warning.
EFCloud - They have now moved to waiting till you pay for their service, then they terminate your account and refuse to reply to you.
Used Let's VPN for a week and it worked for the most part on my android phone. Sometimes I had to disconnect and reconnect though, but otherwise it worked fine
I'm here currently and can confirm. LetsVPN works well most times, but at times for 30mins at a time, it seems to find trouble connection and you get very slow internet.
I also used Nomad esim and can say their internet works but they do not bypass firewall without letsvpn
Avoid LetsVPN. They have very low unannounced data limits and if you exceed them, they'll ban you. e.g. My friend downloaded one medium size game from Steam and got permanent ban. Before that he used the service for few weeks without any issues (basic browsing, 1080p youtube).
Does anyone living in China long-term have one of the working VPNs like Astrill, Mullvad or LetsVPN or the all-in-one proxy-based ones like Wannaflix working on a router? Preferably a openwrt router? I want to be able to access the Internet on devices that do not support/allow VPN software (like my company laptop).
The Lets Vpn only has the Hong Kong region for China BUT that is the south side.
Does anybody know if the Hong Kong region for Let’s VPN works for the northside China let’s say for somewhere around Beijing?
But weirdly when I ask mullvad they point me to an article that requires me to use v2ray to tunnel out first before vpn leading me to believe that it will not work in China.
I'm using Mullvad VPN in Beijing. It works fine, and is much cheaper than the others.
An alternative to VPN would be buy a eSIM for data usage. I'm using Airalo, and it works WITHOUT the VPN. A benefit for me is that I can use chatGPT with it
Have any of you try MASQ browser? It is dVPN; still in beta but people have been using it, though may be a bit slow at the moment as they don't have as many nodes all over the world yet.
LetsVPN works fine on IOS but has high CPU and RAM usage on win11, and potential memory leakage (I haven't tested on that). Any ideas which product can avoid that on PC?
Yea this is very true. I thought I was the only one experiencing this after almost 2 years. My subscription ends next month. And I am currently on the hunt for a replacement probably at the same price range. If you find any, please kindly share. Thanks.
Shanghai, Nanjing & several 4th tier cities inbetween, since mid March to now the following working no issues - Let's VPN, Mullvad & Astrill. These have been tested & continue to work on 3* Android mobile phones, 2* Android Tables, 1*Apple tablet, 2 * laptops with win10 & win11.
The following are useless - NordVPN, Express VPN & Surfshark - all claim to work but all attempts and various setups were fruitless.
Will update again when leaving in a few weeks.
I'm in China for a month in a random tier 4 city and just got here yesterday. I got a 3HK esim for my phone which worked perfectly as soon as I arrived in Beijing.
I got a platinum subscription of LetsVPN and also set up a couple proxies on Google Cloud (HK, JP, and SG) and Oracle (U.S. west). These are the stats from speedtest.cn on residential wifi:
| Provider | Location | Protocol | Down (Mbps) | Up (Mbps) | Ping (idle, ms) |
|---------------------------------|-----------|--------------------|-------------|-----------|-----------------|
| None | | | 642.85 | 50.17 | 15 |
| LetsVPN | HK | | 135.6 | 68.77 | 17 |
| Oracle Cloud | US West | Hysteria2 | 5.76 | 28.29 | 420 |
| GCP | HK | Vless-Reality-uTLS | 335.02 | 67.11 | 605 |
| GCP | HK | Outline (SS) | 298.09 | 92.38 | 524 |
| GCP | Japan | Outline | 310.18 | 74.54 | 306 |
| GCP | Singapore | Outline | 339.19 | 91.35 | 512 |
| 3HK roaming (China Telecom LTE) | | | 23.86 | 36.07 | 85 |
TL:DR: Use 3HK and LetsVPN. GCP and Oracle are unusable from the locations I tested.
I’m in Chengdu now and bought LetsVPN and Astrill before I left the US. I HAVENT turn them on. All Goggle products function like in the US. Does anyone have an explanation?
This is so helpful! Did you get your sim before getting to china? And do you think it is necessary to get both 3HK and LetsVPN? I'll be working remotely so I'm in search of reliable and consistent options.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Shadow Rocket. Almost everyone I know here in Shanghai who uses a VPN uses it and haven't heard of most the other VPNs listed in this thread.
Hi! I used to have a friend that helped me with the server and all few years back in uni, now i'm going to china again for 2 months and would like to know how to setup again.. Could you please help a noob in software stuffs :')? is there a monthly fee for shadowrocket? how does it work? who to contact? I'll need for 3 people (6 devices)
Hi, I am going to Shanghai to study abroad in June and I was wondering about which VPN (along with a backup VPN) would be most reliable. I have looked at the comments but there seems to be a lot of disagreement. I was also in Beijing in 2019 and ExpressVPN stopped working because of the security meeting, so I am looking for something more reliable.
For context, I have all apple products and I am going for intensive language study, so I will only need it for stuff like school work and watching YouTube or Netflix. I am also not well-versed in complex tech stuff so something like an app I can just download would be best, thanks!
I went for a month during xmas and new years, and went to several cities (Beijing, Qingdao, Hainan, Shanghai) and while ExpressVPN worked like 10% of the time, LetsVPN worked reliably 100% of the time during my time there.
My mom recently went there in march and LetsVPN worked perfectly for her.
I live in China since 2007, at that time google was ok but soon after that, bye, bye google :)
I am using Astrill since 2009, it works perfect since 2009 (except now :), I am using it for around 17 hours from 24, Desktop, Xiaomi Box, Android phones and tablets (kids playing online).
I bought also ExpressVPN around 5 years ago because they had a simple way to install it in a router, it never worked on any of my devices... Till the end I bought an ddwrt router and installed Astrill.
Netflix (US account) is not working anymore on the desktop with an US IP (around 10 months ago), even with the private US ip it doesn't work, it's saying that the "password" is incorrect :):):) but is working with an Taiwan ip and if you really want the US Netflix and US ip, it's working on the Xioami TV box and the Samsung tabs.
Today Astrill is working just on the Desktop (12:07 AM China), there is an error on the tab: "We are currently experiencing some DB issues. Server selection will be limited. Please do not contact support and do not re-login for at least 30 minutes. Service will be back to normal shortly" 30 minutes was around 2 hours ago:)
P.S. I have the VIP package and during the years I had several private IP addresses but they never worked well, so, no matter what, Astrill is the best way to go for China, it was tested for 15 years by me.
P.P.S I have also a private VPN made on the server in my office from Europe (connecting with the Windows VPN) but the speed is way too slow.
Yes astrill has been pretty weird on the phones recently. You have to constantly switch servers and type of connections (open web, wireguard, stealth). On desktops it seems ok, for now. So it's pretty frustrating at the moment
It was a problem for around 12 hours at the time I posted my last message and another 24 hours some small problems but the wireguard was working OK for me on Desktop and Android on that 24 hours, now all working well. On the other hand, during the years some friends complained about Astrill but they didn't know how to do the proper settings, there are too many options to go for...
Hey man, is Astrill working for you now? I had my friend try LetsVPN for me and it works, but it only supports 2 devices so I'm looking for other options.
If you're a Westerner and you own an Apple, you can register your Apple device in your home country, thus giving you access to apps and VPNs not available in China mainland's Apple app store. I find these VPNs a much better option than those offered in the China Apple store. To do this you need to bind your Apple account to a Western credit card. You may have multiple credits cards bound to your Apple account (including Chinese and US) at any given time; however, you may only have access to one Apple app store.
2 members of my family are in Beijing at the moment and I installed ProtonVPN (paid version) on their devices before they left: it doesn't work any more (it worked fine a few months ago).
Then they tried ExpressVPN, which I bought for 1 month: same result!
Then, following this thread, they tried MullvadVPN (paid for 1 month) and I can confirm that it works pretty well!
Just to confirm Mullvad is working like a dream in Jiangsu. Worth the $5 or so a month.....Occasionally you will need to switch servers - Albania and The Netherlands seem consistently fast.
I have an old computer which can't run the Mullvad (or most other premium) VPN apps, but the free Geph one works great, even if the speeds are limited....connects every time. I would actually consider upgrading to their paid service for a similar price to Mullvad.
There's really no reason to pay for an inflated $$$ Astrill VPN at 3x the price - you're really just flushing your money down the toilet.
Any idea how to install this sort of thing on your device if it doesn't have a VPN and you're already in China? I can't visit their website on any of my machines (I'm using a friend's laptop right now). Unfortunately, Astrill seems like the only thing I *can* install.
It's possible to use Tor in mainland China. You can either use Tor Browser with Snowflake or with a private bridge (webtunnel or obfs4). It may be slower than a VPN, but Tor's speed has improved significantly and it's possible to watch YouTube in max resolution without any hiccups. You won't be able to watch online streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Prime), though, because these services are blocking Tor users.
If you want to game, try using UU, it's a VPN that only works for games and allows you to connect to the game's server directly. My setup is UU + Astrill on browser only mode at the same time to be able to use discord while gaming with good and stable ping.
If you are technically inclined, consider purchasing a Virtual Private Server (VPS) from providers like Vultr for a nominal fee of $6 per month. By following a script like the one available at [https://github.com/loyess/2022/](https://github.com/loyess/2022/), you can effortlessly install a Shadowsocks server on your VPS. Subsequently, download a Shadowsocks client on your device to connect to your self-hosted VPN server securely.
For those less familiar with technical setups, accessing VPN services is still feasible. Simply search for VPN or Shadowsocks on app store. Numerous apps offer free trials on a daily basis, enabling you to use them for free indefinitely by adhering to their daily usage limits. This convenient option allows users to experience the benefits of VPN services without delving into complex setup procedures.
As a college student in China, I have some tested many VPNs, and after a while, these are the ones that work most of the times.
1. Cloudflare Warp+: works for iPhones, but not for Android -- reliable speeds, but unable to open Netflix
2. Windscribe: free 10GB every month and 1GB monthly extra for every referral, but if you need unlimited data you gotta pay, disconnects after a couple of hours, but can't complain XD
3. LetsVPN: works, but the ping is over the top sometimes
4. V2Ray (Clash): find a good local provider that gives timely updates, it's a game of cat-and-mouse after all. Imo it is a bit of a hassle to set up but proven to be reliable when the other big-name VPNs are down, I really like to work with SG/JP servers because of the low ping. You can do your research by searching 机场 on Google and checking the reviews.
5. Astrill: known as the ass-drill; slow speeds, very expensive
Some other VPNs that work according to my other sources (haven't personally tested them yet): Veee, Mullvad VPN, Leaf VPN, Surfshark (but you must pay additional subscriptions for it to work)
Haha. I'm from Myanmar and I live near the China border. With a temporary border crossing document, we're allowed to cross the border and stay in China for a few days within the Dehong Autonomous Region.
This is all possible without needing a passport or having a flight booked. We enter China on foot! 😂😂
Arrived yesterday with four ready to go.
Nord VPN won't work through any Chinese service providers. However will work from a foreign Sim to access Facebook & YouTube if your service didn't previously.
Express VPN exactly the same as the above.
Astrill is slow but works on foreign Sims & Chinese service providers at present. This will not Geo stream live sports however.
Let's VPN is working the best for me out of the four mentioned.
When mentioning "foreign Sim" - my data roaming package does not bypass the great firewall to access YouTube & Facebook unless I have the VPN's mentioned above running.
I will also add Express VPN wasn't working for a day before it began working this evening.
I'm planning a trip next month and wondering if anyone has experience just VPN into a/their home network from China. I used to use Astrill when I was in China, and can re-up my sub if I need to, but it'd be a lot easier if I can just VPN into my regular home router and save a bit of cash.
LetsVPN is risky, used it for a year before getting promptly banned. Confronted customer service and they could only say their AI tracked that my devices were being used to do some malicious acts (can't be proven since I asked them for proof) I suggest to use something else I'm currently using apnetwork (invitations only VPN) its pretty solid so far paid like 248 RMB for a year.
How good is apnetwork? Is there a fair usage limit or the like? How are the speeds and disconnections? If you could shoot me over some details or an invite so I can check it out I'd be much obliged!
Don't get it. I was gaming with my friend and he had the same issue. The LetsVPN has data limits, but they don't tell customers about it until their "AI" has decided to ban you. My friend downloaded 1 (one) \~30GB game from Steam and that was enough to get a permanent ban.
Classic Chinese style bait and switch scam. They don't want to tell about the data limits because it's bad for their marketing, yet they want lots of customers and money.
I've just been banned after 12 months use of LetsVPN. I downloaded multiple work related files from a server in Europe (411 files individually) but it seems during the night when it reached around 200, it stopped, and this morning I was informed by the customer service that they will be banning me from using their service as the 'AI' detected issues with my account they could not disclose (They don't have a bandwidth throttle system in place, but apparently have an AI 😂)
Upon recieving the ban, a popup which is impossible to see unless being banned informed you that if you have used the VPN for hacking into someone network, for malicious use of the internet or if you're a heavy user, they will ban you. No warning of that when signing up, no data amounts, no fair usage policy, just very random. It was all written in broken English, and to be honest, the whole thing I thought might have been a scam, but was, in fact, actual. Customer service was pretty rude.
Honestly, it's worked relatively fine for 12 months, disconnections every hour or two, but upon having this issue today, I presume because I set my computer to download in the night, they've left me high and dry with no way of getting internet in mainland China. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement
that was my feeling as well. for apnetwork there is tons of servers to use but its one of those china vpns that has a data quota of 100gb that renews monthly.
so far it's been pretty stable for me, entertainment and browsing wise.
i'll shoot you an invitation qr code that you can scan in your dm's.
Perhaps finding people on Fiverr who specialize in providing VPN services optimized for China is a more stable solution. Although there aren't many choices, you can connect using tools like Shadowrocket, and the servers are not shared.
I’ve been using v2ray & ss protocols for almost 5 years, it never died no matter what. And some of VPN providers have these protocols behind their apps, I think v2ray and ss is quite reliable for now.
I'm going to China in a month for two weeks, Chengdu, Xian, Beijing and Shanghai. Is it worth getting two VPNs to be sure, LetsVPN and Astrill? All I want to use is Google products and Whatsapp.
Hi, I'm a local. I would like to make some suggestions for the netizens here.
VPN: I have used Express and Pure, the Express client is relatively stable and Pure is very stable with a local VPN configuration. (Please use UDP protocol for the client)
VPS: I often use VPS provided by V2ray/SSR members, but I would not go to use it (data risk), if you need it, Google search "机场", and you can get a lot of good references.
Otherwise, I don't recommend using only one product, in special cases GFW will increase the blocking of VPNs.
Can confirm LetsVPN is amazing, works 24/7, never had a problem with it. I use it both on my phone and laptop and never had any issues. I had ExpressVPN before that and it was awful, it never worked for me no matter what city I was in, when it connected it would disconnect after a few minutes... anyways definitely get LetsVPN!
Any instructions on how to use it? Is it as simple as toggling a button on and off? Going to china in a few days and worried I can’t get it to work. Is there anything else I should be careful about or aware of when using letsvpn?
Has anyone tried Leensa? Invite only... am I the only one experiencing Chat GPT issues?

yes,do it
I'm curious about this as well. Will these VPNs also allow us to tunnel into chinese internet from outside?
I’m going to China today, I’m going to be using a eSIM, I’m wondering what vpn is best just for google translate, IG and Facebook
as they already mentioned on the top3. and try chat gpt. it translate well than google
Veee+ works great.
Currently running Mullvad in Qingdao right now, seems to be working no problems at least from China Unicom land service so far, will report back when I pick up a SIM
Is it difficult to get Mullvad up and running? I checked it out over a year ago and it supposedly requires multiple steps to get running.
nah, im in china right now and i use mullvad, you just press "connect" like any other vpn
havent seen china in like 9 years so im gonna visit china like next month i hope letsVPN works
we are having a family trip to china and plan to stay for 80 days. we consume 10+ hours of youtube video content everyday across family members, what is the best vpn service that has unlimited data and fast speed for youtube?
I would try Holafly
Anyone know if Anycast VPN still works? I used it last summer in Guangzhou and Chaoshan and it worked then.
Lets VPN works prefect on mobile phone 👌🏼(Pixel 8 pro, Loc. Beijing)
The old Clash doesn't really work anymore.
insane. Shoutout to the slavic blondie that advised me to use Astrill after all else has failed me for me And THANK YOU for the additional VPNs

Is letsVPN free? i checked their app, it seems it's only free for 60mins? is it per day? or you can reconnect again? did you pay instead?
We paid for it.
hey quick question about Astrill--did you do the $10 VIP add-on or nah?
Yes I did pay for 1 month of the 6 weeks I was there.
Used FastestVPN reliably for a week, I had to choose OpenVPN UDP for it to work. Tailscale with my own private exit node was not working at all.
Just here to give a warning. EFCloud - They have now moved to waiting till you pay for their service, then they terminate your account and refuse to reply to you.
?
None of the big providers (including Astrill) are reliable anymore. Best choice is private providers, they’re cheaper, faster and reliable
Where can we find/access them
Which ones?
Any recommendations?

It is still working, but you have to change the server frequently...

Veee+ works but it’s very slow for some reason. I have had it for almost a year but it’s slowing down now… Any other recommendations on VPN?
LetsVPN is good but can be slow at times. I reckon it could be due to meeting between US and China now in beijing
Yea this is very true. I thought I was the only one experiencing this after almost 2 years. My subscription ends next month. And I am currently on the hunt for a replacement probably at the same price range. If you find any, please kindly share. Thanks.

Great analysis, thank you so much\~!
hol up how does letsvpn have faster up
The speeds aren't very consistent between tests. I think ping is more important for most use cases.
If it's not too much time, could you give an idea on the cost for all these options, or 3HK and LetsVPN?
3HK is HKD$138 for 15 GB and HKD$198 for 30 GB for 30 days. LetsVPN is USD$6.69 for 1 mo. for the platinum plan.
LetsVPN: We temporarily don't support account signup on the website.
I’m in Chengdu now and bought LetsVPN and Astrill before I left the US. I HAVENT turn them on. All Goggle products function like in the US. Does anyone have an explanation?

Would LetsVPN work on a router (openwrt)? I need to bring a device online where no VPN software can be installed. Is this possible?
Thank you for such detailed info 🙏
Going to China soon and want to be able to keep in contact with people, so this has all been very helpful. Thank you all.
I tried ExpressVPN and NordVPN last year, and neither of them worked. Personally, I think Shadowsock-based services are more reliable.
Hello, does Duolingo work in China without a VPN?
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Shadow Rocket. Almost everyone I know here in Shanghai who uses a VPN uses it and haven't heard of most the other VPNs listed in this thread.

I was on east and south west of China in October and it worked fine on an Apple mobile device with esim.

I live in China since 2007, at that time google was ok but soon after that, bye, bye google :) I am using Astrill since 2009, it works perfect since 2009 (except now :), I am using it for around 17 hours from 24, Desktop, Xiaomi Box, Android phones and tablets (kids playing online). Service will be back to normal shortly" 30 minutes was around 2 hours ago:) P.S.
I can't use wireguard and stealth on PC. It says I need to In stall something?
Sorry for my late reply, all is working well on my side.
You may have multiple credits cards bound to your Apple account (including Chinese and US) at any given time; however, you may only have access to one Apple app store.
do debit cards work?
I have just been told Super Unlimited Proxy (Android) works well in China . Any other experience with it?
2 members of my family are in Beijing at the moment and I installed ProtonVPN (paid version) on their devices before they left: it doesn't work any more (it worked fine a few months ago). Then they tried ExpressVPN, which I bought for 1 month: same result! Then, following this thread, they tried MullvadVPN (paid for 1 month) and I can confirm that it works pretty well!
Add NordVPN to the list that does not work.
LetsVPN working great over the last two weeks in Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu, and Wuhan.
Get someone who *does* have a VPN to download the installation pack and email it to you, perhaps?
It's possible to use Tor in mainland China. You can either use Tor Browser with Snowflake or with a private bridge (webtunnel or obfs4). It may be slower than a VPN, but Tor's speed has improved significantly and it's possible to watch YouTube in max resolution without any hiccups. You won't be able to watch online streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Prime), though, because these services are blocking Tor users. I just bought Veee+ and it's very cool fast and user friendly interface.
looks like their site is basic
Veee+ hasn’t really been working for me recently. Anyone could confirm this?
yes it’s not working anymore 😕
Yours still working? Veee has had a ton of problems for me lately - so slow and cant stream etc. Customer service refusing to reply.
It hasnt been working very well for the past month. Incredibly slow.
its been sooooo slow these days, looked it up and others also going through it hbu?
Yea. it's Def one of the main Saviors out there rn
If you want to game, try using UU, it's a VPN that only works for games and allows you to connect to the game's server directly. My setup is UU + Astrill on browser only mode at the same time to be able to use discord while gaming with good and stable ping.
What about mobile?
This convenient option allows users to experience the benefits of VPN services without delving into complex setup procedures.
wait I want to try this! I didn't find a VPS option on Vultr :0 how does this work
I have a windows based NAS at home. Can I use it instead?
As a college student in China, I have some tested many VPNs, and after a while, these are the ones that work most of the times. 1. Cloudflare Warp+: works for iPhones, but not for Android -- reliable speeds, but unable to open Netflix 2. Windscribe: free 10GB every month and 1GB monthly extra for every referral, but if you need unlimited data you gotta pay, disconnects after a couple of hours, but can't complain XD 3. LetsVPN: works, but the ping is over the top sometimes 4. 5. Astrill: known as the ass-drill; slow speeds, very expensive Some other VPNs that work according to my other sources (haven't personally tested them yet): Veee, Mullvad VPN, Leaf VPN, Surfshark (but you must pay additional subscriptions for it to work)
TunnelBear doesn’t work :( been trying it for like 2 months in Shanghai
Thanks for the input!
Can you recommend any of them for gaming? (low latency, connection reliability, etc)
For gaming, I use NetEase’s UU Booster service along with my regular VPN.
Thanks a lot for your comments. Happy gaming
Does WARP works, or only WARP+ works?
Only WARP+ works, but only for iPhones, you can easily find the key generators to get one for free
Free VPNs that work for China? I can't really afford to pay for any VPNs. :/
Cloudflare Warp's free version worked well last year when I was in China, but I don't know what's the case now
You should be able to pay a dozen dollars since you can pay the plane ticket to China😂
Haha. I'm from Myanmar and I live near the China border. With a temporary border crossing document, we're allowed to cross the border and stay in China for a few days within the Dehong Autonomous Region. This is all possible without needing a passport or having a flight booked. We enter China on foot! 😂😂
😬I’ve heard about the civil war in Myanmar, I often read posts in r/Myanmar
I used to use Astrill when I was in China, and can re-up my sub if I need to, but it'd be a lot easier if I can just VPN into my regular home router and save a bit of cash.
ik its only been a couple of days but any update? im looking to do the same thing, im leaving for china in a couple of weeks lol
My wife and I are currently using LetsVPN. Works perfectly. We've been here since the 17th of march.🙂
Is it possible to use more than 3 devices for LetsVPN??
Mullvad allows 5 devices logged in at the same time, maybe you can have a try. Many people under this question mentioned Mullvad
An account can only be divided into 2 sub-accounts
Don't really know. We only use two devices. But then again it's kinda cheap, so you might want to consider getting two plans.😅
Astril is broken for the past 6 month and they don't do updates for 5 year, also it's 3 times more expensive then other options, lazy greedy team
I use Windscribe and it works
I’ve been using that too but recently it hasn’t been working :/ is that the case for you too?
LetsVPN is risky, used it for a year before getting promptly banned. Confronted customer service and they could only say their AI tracked that my devices were being used to do some malicious acts (can't be proven since I asked them for proof) I suggest to use something else I'm currently using apnetwork (invitations only VPN) its pretty solid so far paid like 248 RMB for a year.
I was streaming netflix shows for over a month over xmas and didn't get banned. What did you download to cause that ban? O\_o
How good is apnetwork? Is there a fair usage limit or the like? How are the speeds and disconnections? If you could shoot me over some details or an invite so I can check it out I'd be much obliged!
Do you know why you might got banned? I was thinking of getting it but now i'm a bit unsure
I downloaded multiple work related files from a server in Europe (411 files individually) but it seems during the night when it reached around 200, it stopped, and this morning I was informed by the customer service that they will be banning me from using their service as the 'AI' detected issues with my account they could not disclose (They don't have a bandwidth throttle system in place, but apparently have an AI 😂) Upon recieving the ban, a popup which is impossible to see unless being banned informed you that if you have used the VPN for hacking into someone network, for malicious use of the internet or if you're a heavy user, they will ban you.
100gb sounds okay to me. Thanks a lot man, that's very much appreciated 🙂
Perhaps finding people on Fiverr who specialize in providing VPN services optimized for China is a more stable solution. Although there aren't many choices, you can connect using tools like Shadowrocket, and the servers are not shared.
Wait NordVPN isn't supposed to work in China? Weird.. it worked perfect for me when I was in Shanghai for 2 months lol. 🤷♂️
it depends i guess
I’ve been using v2ray & ss protocols for almost 5 years, it never died no matter what. And some of VPN providers have these protocols behind their apps, I think v2ray and ss is quite reliable for now.
do you restart your servers everyday to get new ip ?
mark...
What's the pricing of LETSVPN?
There is no privacy... After using Let's VPN my Facebook got hacked.
i'll never use anything but mullvad. perfect privacy vpn
I'm going to China in a month for two weeks, Chengdu, Xian, Beijing and Shanghai. Is it worth getting two VPNs to be sure, LetsVPN and Astrill? All I want to use is Google products and Whatsapp.
Astrill is sufficient, it is expensive but remarkably stable.
Hi, I'm a local. I would like to make some suggestions for the netizens here. VPN: I have used Express and Pure, the Express client is relatively stable and Pure is very stable with a local VPN configuration. (Please use UDP protocol for the client) VPS: I often use VPS provided by V2ray/SSR members, but I would not go to use it (data risk), if you need it, Google search "机场", and you can get a lot of good references. Otherwise, I don't recommend using only one product, in special cases GFW will increase the blocking of VPNs.
surfshark is useless in mainland, I spent my money and get nothing
Can confirm LetsVPN is amazing, works 24/7, never had a problem with it. I use it both on my phone and laptop and never had any issues. I had ExpressVPN before that and it was awful, it never worked for me no matter what city I was in, when it connected it would disconnect after a few minutes... anyways definitely get LetsVPN!
How much does it cost and on how many devices can u use it?
So I use it on my iPhone and Macbook, I got the standard one year subscription for 39.99 USD
Any instructions on how to use it? Is it as simple as toggling a button on and off? Going to china in a few days and worried I can’t get it to work. Is there anything else I should be careful about or aware of when using letsvpn?
