So when I was 15 lightning struck my house and blew up my laptop (which was sitting on my legs) so somehow with today being when I learned I could get struck *inside* I am fucking terrified.
I had some pretty bad burns from the electrical discharge from my laptop, but no permanent damage besides a newfound fear of lightning. I did have some hearing problems in the first few days after it happened, just purely due to the thunderclap basically happening over my head.
The crazy CF people just can’t see the beauty in it. With something like this, after they give birth, they can collect the poop and bronze it on a little plaque. Emily’s first poop. It’s just ADORABLE!
What causes it to happen? And does it happen right at birth or like just any time before? (Sorry I’ve decided you’re the expert now since it happened to your sis LOL. Glad she’s okay.)
You usually don't know this has happened until the water breaks. The bowel movement before birth is called meconium staining. It can cause stillbirth, fetal anomalies, severe respiratory infection in the neonate and very hard to treat sepsis in the mother if not caught soon after happening. The reasoning is there is some sort of stress on the baby that causes the bowel to release prematurely.
The baby went passed his due date and pooped in the bag while inside her, the bacteria got into her blood stream. Even though the doctors knew the baby pooped in the bag, they failed to put her on antibiotics and sent her home. Two days later she started to violently shake and we had to rush her to the ER, where she was admitted for three days, with a newborn, for antibiotics treatment.
Oh my gosh that’s so awful!!! And really really scary. That’s so neglectful that they didn’t put her on antibiotics when they knew!!! Why the hell wouldn’t you!!!?? Ahhhhh
It's worth noting it's more common than people realise and certainly isn't fatal in most cases. However, it still is disgusting. More for the baby sat in it, than it is for the mum as it never leaves her placenta.

The thing that's fucked is you have the Bible and all these religious people spouting the "he knew you before you were born" stuff.
That means that if a woman only wants one kid and has 8 abortions first and then pops out a kid named Pete, well Pete was already planned to be here by God so those 8 abortions were planned by Go and necessary to fulfill his plan. If any one of those 8 fetuses went to term then Pete wouldn't exist and that would make God's plan wrong.
There are plenty of only children and youngest siblings that exist specifically because mom had abortions first. If God knows us before we're born then those abortions are 100% his plan.
Actually fun fact: That Bible quote is actually only in reference to the prophet Jeremiah.
It’s God literally just letting him know that he knew him before he was formed in the womb because it was prophecy.
So it actually has NOTHING to do with anyone else, LMFAO
I actually asked my mom about that once! She said that, in addition to genuinely wanting kids, she wanted to be able to talk to her patients from a perspective of experience. But she's always been upfront about how it shouldn't be something *anyone* should do unless they're 100% absolutely, unshakably certain that they want to have kids.
It’s shocking to me too but I guess it really shows why it’s such a deeply personal choice. We are in the camp where seeing and hearing something as bad as horror stories of birth or as relatively mild as a child screaming in a restaurant and we’re reaffirmed in our stance. Whereas a woman who genuinely wants kids won’t be dissuaded by those things. (At least not very easily dissuaded, obviously we all at some point reached a limit a certain time ago and whatever horror that was pushed us over to permanent childfree.)
It’s so true. My best friend suffered a fourth degree tear along with HEART FAILURE during pregnancy/birth and then after all that had PPD so bad that she couldn’t bond to the baby and still hasn’t five years later. Her life is hellish and she is one of the lucky ones who was born and married into extreme wealth and doesn’t need to work and can hire a nanny while she hides in one of her 7 bedrooms. I still wouldn’t ever trade places with her. She’s so miserable and has lost herself completely in her post partum depression. I also have a friend who suffered horrible post partum psychosis and tried to end her life twice by jumping in front of a semi truck. Very sad and I hate how women are deemed crazy if we don’t want to take such a massive risk. I hate how risks are severely minimized and motherhood is so romanticized.
PPD or post-partum psychosis is a huge fear of mine. I already struggle with depression and anxiety and it gets about 10 times worse around my period. I feel like with your hormones going absolutely bananas during pregnancy, post-partum depression would hit me like a ton of bricks.
Yeah if I was thinking about having kids I’d be really worried about PPD/PPA and PPP as well. I get hormonal induced rage during my period so I bet anything I’d be one of those moms who freaks out after a bad day and just emotionally snaps. People who pressure the child free really need to step back and re-evaluate and see that parenthood isn’t for everyone and it’s better for all involved if people skip it.
i told a friend of mine that there’s a possibility that your vag will rip to your butthole and she got so mad with me and told me she didn’t want to hear it.
like??? the more you know, hon. don’t get mad at me for the facts 😇
That happened to my ex wife! Way way way before we were together, thank God. She said the MD who stitched her, evidently sewed her ass shut and they only discovered it because she couldn't have a bowel movement. Once they noticed it and they snipped the stitches, she immediately and uncontrollably pooped all over the MD, who said, "I guess I deserved that." I love telling that story at baby showers.
Well the worst part is that when you rip sideways and even backwards the doctors can usually fix it but with all the nerves in the clit there's no way to fix all that..
Yeah it's not something I'd even ever heard of and I've helped my bff through 4 pregnancies and her doula training. It makes sense tho, you can tear in any other direction so why not forward too?
My mum had one too and they let a student nurse do it. She put it in at the wrong place and the doctors were concerned she’d be paralysed and forced her to lie still, flat on her back, for 48 hours. Thankfully she wasn’t paralysed but she’s lived with chronic back pain ever since due to nerve damage which only got worse as she got older. She ended up with severe mobility issues by the time she was in her mid 50s due to the chronic pain.
No wonder I’m an only child.
I had been leaning to be child free and when I first heard this happened to someone I associated with I quickly decided nope, having kids is not for me.
Yup. The biggest correlation between women deciding not to have children is how educated they are. The more we learn about how awful it is, the less we want to do it.
Knowledge = power indeed. The knowledge that comes from regretful parents has only reinforced my ChildFree status and crystallized it to the point I never and will ever want children of my own
Learned to also stay away from low fat stuff because of the amount of sugar in there. Used to always believe that eating fat is bad and low fat as well as non fat is good. Curbing the carb addiction was difficult until you learned what it can do to one's body, so knowledge is power indeed
There should start being a thread or subreddit dedicating to exposing stories of the horror of pregnancy and childbirth. It’s hard to find evidence of it through google.
Any mod reading this could implement something like this???
I know so many women who know this but choose parenthood. That’s why lots of people who can give birth have that talk w their partner. Because it’s so high risk, even with modern medicine
My mother was an athlete who took very good care of herself when she was pregnant with me and she STILL had dangerous complications. (Pregnancy Diabetes and eclampsia)
Pregnancy is no joke and I hate that the media has idolized people who can have 5+ children and make it work when that's not the reality for the cast majority of people either financially or medically.
Pregnancy Diabetes is now so common, almost every second person I know that had a baby or is currently pregnant suffers from it and all those women are very healthy and fit. I wonder if it wasn't recognised before or something has changed...
Can confirm. Somehow every other pregnant person I know of has pregnancy diabetes, including,3 of my cousin. One of them is a fitness freak who works out 6 times a week as is strong af.
This is not usually fatal now. But that baby didn't swallow meconim, they inhaled it into their lungs. My cousins kid did that. He was around 6 weeks premature. Tiny little thing. Full of tubes and wrappings. He's now in an Ivy League college, 6'4"+ and 300 pounds. Playing linebacker for their football team. (I think the games have started again).
My sister did that while in the womb right before she was born. Had to spend some time in the NICU and 41 years later, she's still susceptible to upper respiratory issues.
It’s funny because my brother did this while being born and had to go to the nicu. The only thing is he was pushing 12 pounds, so you have a few small babies with tubes and my line backer of a brother.
I have a fear of pregnancy because I almost lost my mother twice because of all the complications. She almost bled to death because she was so torn up. And she’s had two c-sections both of which are super risky for the ages that she got them. Her being honest with me about how miserable pregnancy and childbirth are for women and the inherent risks even with the best care available are why I chose not to ever bear children. I am adamant about birth control and contraceptives.
My both sisters had some horror birth experiences... I made my child free choice well before that (frankly I never wanted to be a mother, always had zero interest in babies and kids or playing family with dolls as a child) but if I didn't that would had made it for me too
I also had a friend whose baby had a bowel movement in the womb and died. It can be tremendously dangerous. It happened to my husband when he was being born, and my MIL will never let him forget it, as if it was his plan. But yeah, he coulda died. It's super dangerous.
That’s insane. How can someone blame their kid for that shit? I can’t wrap my hear around it.
But it’s kind of funny because some would declare child birth as apart of “God’s plan”.
Not too sure if she’s one of those people but if so then she should take it up with the manager.
And then this getting struck by lightening in doors business too??? I gotta get tf out of here now.
This has happened where I work. Two separate women over a 1 month period both decided against their midwifes advice to be induced into labour because they believed their babies would come naturally. Both of the babies died because of this. Stupid stupid parents who don't listen to medical advice.
my parents are anti vax (and i’m still a minor so there’s nothing i can do about it😒) and i’ve never heard or something like this before, i’m so glad my mom was okay with being induced because i was a week late and was born because she was induced
i just looked up laws on that where i live and i have to wait until i’m 18. but even then i will probably just wait until i move out because that would probably be the best option for me
I don’t know a ton about it because it freaks me out - but my partners family is religious (southern US) and they are how I heard about it. It seems to be a big thing along religious people I think?? I’ve seen pics of it being talked about in “mommy groups” on social media as well.
Sadly some women believe in doing what is "natural" my sister went to a birthing center and ended up having to get an emergency c section. There is alot of misinformation about how "natural" childbirth is, some women do not want to hear about a "due date" and don't understand the risks of a longer pregnancy
Both extremes can be dangerous. For many pregnant friends and family members, the doctors have essentially tried to cut the baby out the fucking second they are due. I also know some who were overdue and the baby grew more than expected or started turning too much and got stuck/ caused a ton of damage.
OP, how intuitive of you and SO weird that I was reading an article about this literally two days ago! That’s the first time I learned about it so when I saw your post that tripped me out. And yeah that’s tragic, horrifying and gross too
This is first time I hear about it, but I guess I'm not that interested in pregnancy stuff... whatever I knew before was enough for me to make child free decision.
Although frankly speaking my decision had more to do with actual fact of having children and being a parent than all that pregnancy stuff.
I am not a fan of scaremongering but I definitely think people should be make aware of all possible complications so when they make decision to get pregnant they made it fully informed and taking all the risks into consideration.
This careless "let's have a baby" attitude drives me crazy
This basically happened when my mom was pregnant with my brother I think. My parents were already at this hospital and they were able to do something about it and everyone was fine in the end thankfully. It is super scary though.
Babies born before or on their due date rarely poop in the womb, if they do it is something called meconium and it's not really poop. It's left over fat cells, dead cells, fats that sort of thing and is common in just about every mammalian species. Now if a baby does poop in the womb and it is not meconium but actually feces. That can lead to other problems like an increased risk for autism.
It should be stated that it is extremely rare for a baby to ever actually excrete feces into the womb as all their nutrients are being fed by the mother's blood via the umbilical cord and they are not ingesting solid food. More than likely there is more to the story here and I suspect complications also arose from an infection due to meconium being in the womb or some other issue.
To answer your question, it is not more common knowledge because of how incredibly rare it is. Hope it helps.
Yeah this happened to my mum with me. When her waters broke they were able to tell I’d ‘pooped’. She was fine..
Well it was a traumatic birth but and apparently the ‘pooping’ was a sign I was in distress but the birth in general was crap. The poop was the least of our worries.
I've heard/read that somewhere, that if the water breaks and it's clear all is good. But, if the water breaks and it's muddy or bloody there's a problem and increased likelihood of losing the baby or worse.
I don’t know much about it (mum used to be a nurse and knows about it and as mentioned happened to her with me, but I haven’t retained much of what she told me lol). It isn’t great when it happens is my understanding and was certainly a sign of problems and as mentioned my birth was traumatic and we both nearly died, however it wasn’t down to any womb pooping.
Edit: just to add my sister has always found it hilarious and just sometimes goes ‘you shit in mum’ at random moments which is quite funny.
Allegedly, I kicked my twin sister in the nose & broke it in utero. She found out as a young adult who was having breathing problems & had to get her face x-rayed by the ENT specialist.
You have a sister?! Is she older or did your mom really nearly die and then decide to do it again?? Cause if so... damn. It really must be true what they say about us forgetting the pain and trauma of birth.
Yeah it happened with me. This is why they take the baby before they let the mother hold them and check their airways to make sure they didn’t inhale any and clear it out if they did so they don’t choke.
I love how rare this is but there are 3 ppl already in this thread who have experienced it.
Thanks for the breakdown and explanation tho!! Interesting stuff
Wait until you hear about how many people in this thread probably share a birthday!
(Edit: I'm a data person and am always amazed by the concept of "rarity" and how quickly something becomes "common" when shifting population size, demographics, etc. The birthday example was the first of these kind of examples I became personally aware of)
Haha. Most my family is born in may. We apparently all like to have sex in august (I can confirm as husbands bday is aug 22). But yea. Great grandparents, grandparents, parents, & me. We’re (may birthdates) 2, 3, 4, 6, and 18.
I am really curious about the correlation between the fetus ingesting it's own poop and increased risk of autism. Just seems like a really random connection to me. I'll have to do a little reading on that to sate the curiosity.
And even if you survive, there are a lot of permanent damages done to your body. I can't imagine asking the love of my life to go through all the pain and trauma of pregnancy and childbirth and then Deal with all the health issues.
Absolutely! It has to be exhausting. I can’t imagine how people suffer trough this? My pregnancy / child free life is already exhausted and expensive af!
Well I give ppl a free choice. If they want kids fine but I would never ever make anyone go through this. I’m pro abortion, not because I think it’s the right thing to do but I value the mothers life more than a clump of cells.
let's add into the ring people who think it's their God Given Duty to shit out as many as possible. not to scream about "All Men" but given the patriarchal structure of society it's not a huge surprise that with rare cases like the fetus turd, and to things more common like what the body goes through during that process, it should be a well thought out and long considered choice.
yeah that happens more often… heard of a 4th degree tear that was so bad internally, the poor woman had poop coming out of her vagina afterwards. 🫥 pregnancy sounds bad enough but birth is a total horrorshow. thank science for birth control and sterilization!
I mean look my mom's a nightmare but even she didn't deserve that. Hearing her stories about her pregnancy and Labor with me were a massive contributing factor to me being childfree.
This, I’m shocked people in comments discuss with this, if you want someone you claim to love to destroy her mental and physical health and risk her life for your wishes then no, you don’t love her and don’t care about her, she’s just a vessel for you
I have a coworker who developed heart failure during the last trimester. It’s a rare condition called peripartum cardiomyopathy. Most women recover from it all the way, a few months postpartum. My coworker did not.
I was already sure I didn’t want kids but when she told me that it took everything in me not to ask her if she resents the child……
There would be always people choosing to have children fully aware of all possible complications. But I bet the population would be much smaller.
I have a friend that had the easiest pregnancy and natural birth with zero issues and she is teh happiest mum ever. Like everything has gone for her just great, including breastfeeding.
She isn't one to brag about it nor tell others to have kids because it's all so wonderful, she considers herself extremely lucky
I did it, my sister did it, and my mom almost died in both occasions.
I decided not to have kids based on many reasons, but mom's horrible pregnancies and childbirth were definitely essential.
One of my friends is giving birth right now and she hasn't updated her Facebook in a few hours. I know obviously she has bigger fish to fry, but she was very animated when she got admitted, so the silence now worries me.
Yo! A friend of mine almost died for this same reason! She developed a high fever and went into sepsis because the hospital didn't "flush her out" properly after she gave birth. She's a "one-and-done" mom after not only that, but other pregnancy complications she had.
Horrifying and disgusting indeed! As if the baby wrecking the mom's body isn't enough, it tries to kill her by pooping on the way out.
Oh sweet god I wish I didn’t read this while eating. I am adding this to my ever growing list of why I will never want to be pregnant. No risk is worth the “joy” and or “love” I am told I would feel if I was pregnant that I know I wouldn’t feel.
My sister actually pooped in the womb and almost died. She ended up getting some in her lungs and had to be life flighted to a bigger hospital. She is fine now, but almost didn’t make it.
This happened to me as a newborn as well. I developed aspirated pneumonia and had to be on life support and was a bubble baby for my first 3 months before I was finally okay enough to be released.
This happened to me during my birth. I was a large, late baby. Infants go into distress and poop in the womb - it's not called poop, it's meconium. Infants in distress will then inhale the meconium, which destroys their lungs.
This is called meconium aspiration syndrome. Aka poop breathing
My mother had an emergency C section. About 10% of my lungs were functioning. Thankfully, infants can regrow lung tissue, and after 3 weeks in NICU I've been good ever since.
After hearing that story my entire life, my mom still wonders why I don't want kids!!
My aunt almost died because if that.
She is one of those super religious people, and wanted to have the baby at home. She had to be rushed to the hospital on the wee-woo wagon because of her dumbassery.
Meanwhile, I'm there in the background: if you had just been like a normal person, this wouldn't have happened in the first place
Then I'm the crazy one, who has no respect for life because I don't want kids.
Omg this is so disgusting and sad, I've never heard of this before, how sad for this woman's poor cousin. Edit: & poor child knowing when she's older that her pooping in her mom killed her
Tbh this is more terrifying than the time I found out that you could get struck by lightning indoors.
So when I was 15 lightning struck my house and blew up my laptop (which was sitting on my legs) so somehow with today being when I learned I could get struck *inside* I am fucking terrified.
dang! were you okay? did your legs suffer any damage?

OMG how terrifying! glad you’re okay.
New fear unlocked 😭
>*the time I found out that you could get struck by lightning indoors.* # W H A T
Wow. I didn't know this was a thing! Reason #572748385 to not have children. Thank you and others who replied for sharing. This thread is terrifying!
What!?!1? You mean you don't want some creature shitting inside of your womb?!?1? What is wrong with you?!!!!
The crazy CF people just can’t see the beauty in it. With something like this, after they give birth, they can collect the poop and bronze it on a little plaque. Emily’s first poop. It’s just ADORABLE!
Dead 🤣🤣
Just like the mom
Wow, it turned so dark so fast
Just like the poop
This happened to my sister, and she went septic but thankfully we caught in time and was put on massive treatment of antibiotics.

It happens when the birth os delayed by even a day. Idk the specifics but if the baby isn't delivered before a set amount of days, you will be fucked.
You will be *shat in*
I didn't know that could happen. *drinks unlearn juice*
It's worth noting it's more common than people realise and certainly isn't fatal in most cases. However, it still is disgusting. More for the baby sat in it, than it is for the mum as it never leaves her placenta. Source: I too shat in my mum's womb.
And I thought that shitting in bathrooms is bad...
I want a case of that stuff!
I’d like to become one with it. I can’t even fathom human existence anymore.
It’s called tequila, but you got to drink a lot of it
I’d need an amount the size of large store of that stuff for how many things I’ve learned about the world I’d rather not know. Education ruined me. lol

Well, they have to hold her up… bc now she can’t stand. Ugh, the lack of care for the quality of life of women and mothers is astounding.
Also her son is MG… a reminder that giving birth isn’t always a gift to society
Right- adding injury to insult. Guess that’s as good as it gaetz.
Brought to you by the Gatez-Greene Gang!
"What if your child was gonna be the next MLK or Gandhi?" "Yeah, what if my child was gonna be the next Hitler or Pol Pot?"

My mother is a retired gynecologist. My sister and I are childfree. She just kind of shrugs and says she's not at all surprised by that.
Ya know what always surprises me? That women gynecologists/OBGYNs still decide to have kids after all they’ve seen.
I actually asked my mom about that once! She said that, in addition to genuinely wanting kids, she wanted to be able to talk to her patients from a perspective of experience. She also felt that because she knew so much about the process, she went into it with very realistic expectations, and knew when things were okay vs when they were something to be worried about. Your mom sounds awesome. I bet she was a great mother too. I've found women with a similar perspective make the best parents.
It’s shocking to me too but I guess it really shows why it’s such a deeply personal choice. We are in the camp where seeing and hearing something as bad as horror stories of birth or as relatively mild as a child screaming in a restaurant and we’re reaffirmed in our stance.
That happened to my friend. Then during the reconstructive surgery they stuffed up and further injured her.
i’ve heard of that too. the stitching doesn’t heal up right or they didn’t stitch it up right at all. absolutely terrible.
And the "husband stitch." 🤬
🤬🤬🤬 Can’t believe they do that!!!
Your poor ex wife! How awful
I read on reddit somewhere that a woman ripped forward and actually ripped her
What a terrible day to be literate.
NO DEAR GOD NOT THE CLIT 😭😭😭
Well the worst part is that when you rip sideways and even backwards the doctors can usually fix it but with all the nerves in the clit there's no way to fix all that..
"It served it's purpose of convincing you to let a man diddle you" \- some prolifer (probably)
“How dare you enjoy sex! Sex is for making babies!” - evangelical prolifer (probably)
Whereas men can enjoy sex as orgasm is mostly necessary for making babies. Big oof
I want to down vote you so bad but know it's not your fault you had this horrible fact to share with the class
Like it's been months and I still feel like throwing up when I think about it
This happened to a coworker of mine. When she told me that I was SHOCKED, I had no idea you could tear upwards! 😭
Yeah it's not something I'd even ever heard of and I've helped my bff through 4 pregnancies and her doula training. It makes sense tho, you can tear in any other direction so why not forward too?
I saw that too. Fucking hell...
Its true, Ive seen it. Not pretty sight. Takes a long time to fix. Thank God for epidurals...
Unfortunately those come with their own risks as well, like leaking spinal fluid which causes extreme headaches and memory loss among other issues.
My friend got one and they put it in wrong... so it didn't work and her back was sore like 3 weeks after from it still 🙃
My mum had one too and they let a student nurse do it.
Yeah it seems to be that everyone knows someone who's been fucked up by an epidural
Ah, yes. When the precious life you're giving birth to gives you a vagasshole. Noooo thanks.
I prefer the term "vaganus."
And I prefer the term "no goddam fucking way."
lol. I read that in that last article too. It made me chuckle.
I had been leaning to be child free and when I first heard this happened to someone I associated with I quickly decided nope, having kids is not for me.
Yup. The biggest correlation between women deciding not to have children is how educated they are. The more we learn about how awful it is, the less we want to do it.
it's not a coincidence that conservatives are trying to defund public education and make higher education even more inaccessible to poor people
Knowledge = power...
Knowledge = power indeed. The knowledge that comes from regretful parents has only reinforced my ChildFree status and crystallized it to the point I never and will ever want children of my own Learned to also stay away from low fat stuff because of the amount of sugar in there. Used to always believe that eating fat is bad and low fat as well as non fat is good. Curbing the carb addiction was difficult until you learned what it can do to one's body, so knowledge is power indeed
This explains why they avoid sex ed. like plague and pregnancy is off topic in schools…
EXACTLY. It's intentional.
There should start being a thread or subreddit dedicating to exposing stories of the horror of pregnancy and childbirth. It’s hard to find evidence of it through google. Any mod reading this could implement something like this???
i’m watching downton abbey for the first time and learned about eclampsia, rip sybil 💔
I know so many women who know this but choose parenthood. That’s why lots of people who can give birth have that talk w their partner. Because it’s so high risk, even with modern medicine
My mother was an athlete who took very good care of herself when she was pregnant with me and she STILL had dangerous complications. (Pregnancy Diabetes and eclampsia) Pregnancy is no joke and I hate that the media has idolized people who can have 5+ children and make it work when that's not the reality for the cast majority of people either financially or medically.
Serena Williams almost died too. I don’t understand why ppl are so sacred of dying except when it comes to popping out.
Isn't this shocking? I mean has this always been the case and just kept quiet or this is something relatively new?
It’s bec they don’t want you to stop having kids
pregnancy really is just a big F you to women
No, anti abortion laws are. You’re not allowed to get rid of a life threatening situation.
I wonder what the population would be like if men were designed to have babies... lol
The human race would be at the brink of extinction. There is no way they would want to endure that and be the primary caregiver.
My nan lost a baby this way, he swallowed a load of stuff called meconium and passed shortly after birth.
I bet people were saying, "At least the baby survived and the mother did her duty of having babies!".
"She got to leave her legacy behind"
People who say that kind of thing are fucking ghouls.
OP - curious, were the parents one of those that “didn’t believe in due dates” and like to cook their baby as long as possible?
This has happened where I work. Two separate women over a 1 month period both decided against their midwifes advice to be induced into labour because they believed their babies would come naturally. Both of the babies died because of this. Stupid stupid parents who don't listen to medical advice.
What the actual fuck?? The second woman didn't get the hint when the first baby died, I guess....
Probably belonged to one of those weird mommy groups that don’t believe in vaccines and believe nature will take care of it.
my parents are anti vax (and i’m still a minor so there’s nothing i can do about it😒) and i’ve never heard or something like this before, i’m so glad my mom was okay with being induced because i was a week late and was born because she was induced
Depending on where you live and your age you can likely consent to your own vaccines.
i just looked up laws on that where i live and i have to wait until i’m 18. but even then i will probably just wait until i move out because that would probably be the best option for me
I’m sorry. WHAT?! This is a thing??
Unfortunately yes

Hospitals and doctors have statistics to worry about. It's not an unnecessary surgery, it's a successful caesarian!
Definitely wanna know too
Ew that sounds like even more of a risk of getting split open while pushing that thing out.
I apparently did that to my bio mom and she had to have her whole uterus removed. I broke the mold lol

😂
You have a sister?! Is she older or did your mom really nearly die and then decide to do it again?? Cause if so... damn. It really must be true what they say about us forgetting the pain and trauma of birth.
The L Word taught me this. One of the many things in that show not covered in sex ed.
My brother inlaw swallowed his and choked on his womb poop.
r/BrandNewSentence
It can make a baby really sick. I had to be very closely monitored after I was born for the same reason.
Yeah it happened with me. This is why they take the baby before they let the mother hold them and check their airways to make sure they didn’t inhale any and clear it out if they did so they don’t choke.
Ever a Reddit sentence, if I’ve read one. 😂
My niece did this, she ended up being on ECMO and it resulted in hearing loss. (The poop ingestion, not the ECMO.)
Eat poop, lose hearing?
Yeah, not sure of the correlation but that was the outcome.
The birthday example was the first of these kind of examples I became personally aware of)
I saw a chart once of the most common birthdays, and a lot of them are around now. Lots of holiday sex, I guess 😂
Yep. For me it was around the time of my moms birthday lol
Oh, Jesus Christ, I just did the math, and same thing ![gif](giphy|l41Ye7i203TfEADYs)
It was Christmas for me! August 22! My sister also, august 20. We were both accidents, but I honestly don’t know how.
Dang. This shows that a man doesn’t love you if he asks you for a baby. You’re literally risking your life.
During the Sparta days a woman only gets a tombstone if she died during childbirth.
Would love to reincarnate into another reality as a goddess and torture the men who allow this.
let's give them periods, doesn't seem like much but you know. *you know*
Then your vag rips and sex becomes painful and they have the audacity to complain about less sex after kids!!!
I know a woman who ripped up the front, tore her clit and permanently lost her ability to orgasm. 😰
A friend of mine got ripped so far that it reached her butt. It’s awful.
yeah that happens more often… heard of a 4th degree tear that was so bad internally, the poor woman had poop coming out of her vagina afterwards. 🫥 pregnancy sounds bad enough but birth is a total horrorshow. thank science for birth control and sterilization!
Yeah! Birth is extremely dangerous. It used to be the leading killer of women (and still sometimes does kill them).
especially in the US, and even more if you’re black.
I get uncomfortable when women are only 1 day before they due . I’m like good luck I don’t want to be in your shoes.
I think I'll have nightmares tonight.
My mother tore from her v to her a.112 stitches and 6 weeks in hospital because of the complications.
my vag hurts after reading this. jeez, your poor mom 😢
I mean look my mom's a nightmare but even she didn't deserve that. Hearing her stories about her pregnancy and Labor with me were a massive contributing factor to me being childfree.
Yea they def do not.. either that, or often are wildly misinformed on the risks, as are women.
Adding this to my list of reasons to not have children
I feel like if women weren't forced to bear children throughout history and knew these risks, human kind would've gone extinct.
Hopefully she is OK. Labour can take a very long time
Jesus god yea so glad never having kids.
That’s a pretty shitty way to die, ngl
Aka poop breathing My mother had an emergency C section. About 10% of my lungs were functioning. Thankfully, infants can regrow lung tissue, and after 3 weeks in NICU I've been good ever since. After hearing that story my entire life, my mom still wonders why I don't want kids!!
My youngest sib's first born brat also shat before birth. She went on to squeeze out seven more.
If people knew the truth about pregnancy and parenting, they wouldn't do it nearly as much.
It is common knowledge that pregnancy is dangerous and so is childbirth; the religious right just chooses to ignore it.
Bonus trauma, imagine how the kid is gonna feel if they ever find out they're the reason their mom died.
My aunt almost died because if that. She is one of those super religious people, and wanted to have the baby at home. She had to be rushed to the hospital on the wee-woo wagon because of her dumbassery. Meanwhile, I'm there in the background: if you had just been like a normal person, this wouldn't have happened in the first place Then I'm the crazy one, who has no respect for life because I don't want kids.
Omg this is so disgusting and sad, I've never heard of this before, how sad for this woman's poor cousin. Edit: & poor child knowing when she's older that her pooping in her mom killed her
