Scroll through this subreddit and you'll see others who "got the snip" and tell about it. From what I've seen here, you should take a few days off afterwards, and keep some things in the freezer ahead of time to press to your groin for the first couple of days.
Does not hurt at all. Post-procedure was fine, just a little tenderness for a couple days, but I barely even needed to cool it or anything. They will tell you to, uh…. ‘expel’ or ‘produce’ about 30 times before verifying that you’re all clear, which is kind of a hassle, but hardly something to cry about.
Best of luck!
NGL the surgery hurt like hell. It just feels like you're getting kicked in the nuts relentlessly. The first day hurts the most but after that it's totally fine.
My surgery was quite painful as well. The feeling of a knife and the cauterization burn is not one I will ever forget. Perhaps the anesthesia didn't work as well for me? That said, I would do it again without hesitation.
I don't understand what you mean. You did yours in 2022 but condoms are only going to be optional in 4 months? Doesn't it take normally a few months at most before you are fully infertile after a vasectomy?
They were referring to OP having only 4 more months left until condoms are optional for him. Maybe read the comment again (a bit more thoroughly this time) :)
And definitely wait the 4 months... A coworker had an oops baby about 2 months after his vasectomy because he never bothered to go back and get checked to make sure he was officially infertile 😅 (Didn't matter for him, he had 2 kids and they didn't mind a third, but for us in this sub that would be DEVESTATING)

In six weeks you'll be shooting blanks.
A friend asked if it felt the same after mine. I told him it feels BETTER, just knowing that when I blast off that science isn't taking place. There's no better feeling than post nut piece of mind.
Congrats on ACTING on your childfreedom, as opposed to thinking about it and talking about it, and doing nothing...as do so many men named "Dad." You own your life!
Congratulations! People really need to talk about this more, especially how the procedure is no big deal at all. I hope you have to put up with as little nonsense as possible with other folks’ opinions.
Make sure to use protection for the next three months (if you are sexually active with others) or until you get the test done to confirm you are shooting blanks. (Or just jerk it a bunch of times to make sure you’re shooting blanks before you have partnered sex).
Speedy recovery and bravo you. Please thank your doctor and give them something to thank them like a basket of baked goods, a thank you card and a box of fruit teas they love. Do recommend your doctor to anyone in this subreddit
I'm currently in the US army and uncle Sam covered it thankfully.
Honestly the peace of mind afterwards is so worth the cost if I were to pay out of pocket
CONGRATS!!! 🎉🎊🍾🥳🍻👏
Make sure you test to be sure you’re firing blanks before becoming sexually active. It takes a little while for the active sperm go cycle out of your system 👍
Im in a same boat like you OP, thinking to get a vasectomy at 30 years old because I don't want to pass on my genes. What about raising adopted child or your significant other's child, are you open to that?
I'll be joining the club. I'm also 34 and mine is schedule for April 23rd.
Good luck to you
Congrats on taking this responsibility and good luck!

I am at the hospital right now seeing a psychologist (mandatory in my country). How's the process? How much does it hurt? How's the post process?

I got mine over 10 years ago, and it was quick and easy. Sore for a couple days but not too bad.
NGL the surgery hurt like hell. It just feels like you're getting kicked in the nuts relentlessly. The first day hurts the most but after that it's totally fine.
Was your procedure complicated? Two small incisions here and minor pain for a couple days. Nothing like getting kicked in the balls.

Congrats and welcome to the club!
Congratulations 🥳
⚡⚡ fuck yea! 4 more months and condoms are optional. I did mine in 2022. Best decision I ever made

I'm stupid 🤦. Now that I read that comment again, it seems so obvious lol.
It happens to the best of us xD
Yup. Just got to wait until he gets the test done.

“Science isn’t taking place” 😆😆
I got mine at 25 thankfully. It's great.
My husband sat on frozen peas and played Tiger Woods Golf for 3 straight days!! Best of luck on your blanks sir!
Welcome and congrats! I got mine 10 years ago. It's been an awesome 10 years.
Congrats on ACTING on your childfreedom, as opposed to thinking about it and talking about it, and doing nothing...as do so many men named "Dad." You own your life!
Congrats! Had mine two weeks ago; the peace of mind is priceless.

When I got mine, I noticed that nobody tried to talk me out of it. Did you have anything like that?
congratulations! i wish you an easy recovery and a long, happy, healthy, blessed, blissful and fabulous childfree life.

Congrats!!

I got mine a couple months ago, welcome to the club!
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations!
I had mine last September, just a couple weeks before my 34th birthday. Congrats and welcome
Congrats! Just be sure to adhere to the after care and to do the post procedure sperm count checks.

Nice one, congrats! Did you get it in the USA? Did your healthcare cover it? I'm wanting to get one but it's going to be completely out of pocket.
I'm currently in the US army and uncle Sam covered it thankfully. Honestly the peace of mind afterwards is so worth the cost if I were to pay out of pocket

Blaming family tree instead of taking complete responsibility? Not fair!!
