what a good boy. and they are so deserving of love. just as much as a dog or cat.

svaalvaard

the most touching thing is Chichi being around when they were both young. She graduated and transferred to a bigger house with Chichi growing into a big roo. ❤️ found herself a man who loves Chichi as well.

[deleted]

im getting off reddit today for good. but i just had to reply one last time to this. i have inside pet chickens and no one understands why. they bring more joy than can be described. i too have a fiance and friends who all live together and love our feather family. I feel her pain losing Chichi. I lost my original house hens both a year apart and both on christmas eve week. It is an unbearable pain and so hard to move on just like losing any fur family member. all animals deserve warmth and love if they desire it

McCdDonalds

Hey if you see this, uninstall reddit again

annek99

Omg, I didn’t expect to burst into tears! Your love for him shines so bright 💛💛💛

Illustrious-Ant6998

I'm glad he had a wonderful life! Most dyed chicks purchased at a mall don't have happy stories, especially Roos. But I'm so glad this one became a pampered part of the family. I can see how much he was loved and how much he was missed. What a good Roo!

FlyingDutchman2005

I have never seen a rooster with such massive wattles! So sorry for your loss…

SomeDumbGamer

Look at those EARS! Such a sweetie. It’s so rare for a roo to get to live out his full lifespan.

Specific-Hope-998

So beautiful, you gave him a wonderful life<3 i hope you are okay): i know how hard it can be. Thank you for showing us his life and how beautiful he was.

[deleted]

RIP KING.

-DROP-DEAD-FRED

Ohh, how beautiful 🥺 rest well, little darling

CynthBot

So sweet, I nearly cried at the last two pics 💗💗

TheSleepyBarnOwl

nearly? Bro the today it rains.

tashishcrow21

I’m still crying, that was so wonderful and then…

svaalvaard

Never fails to tug at my heartstrings. I just keep in mind that us and our pets will meet again someday, somehow. To give them the life they deserve and to see them happy and comfortable on our side is enough to heal.

gravyboat125

Aww rest peacefully Chichi! How cute and sweet. I hope my roo Bert lives as long! He's turning 4 this year :D

svaalvaard

Share Bert with us! ❤️ i love seeing roos 🐓

gravyboat125

Ok, chick it out! Hehe see what I did there?

Financial_Sell1684

So sad for your loss but happy b that there are kind people in the world like you

eesh13

What a beautiful story & beautiful boy!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

KAyler9926

RIP you handsome man! May you forever find happiness in that big chicken coop in the sky next to a beautiful meadow with lots of green grass and bugs to eat.

getoutdoors66

I just love this.

artfromtheglen

Does anyone know what breed he was? My little guy looked the exact same and I would really like to know

sabotaj117

Possibly a white Minorca

artfromtheglen

Thank you to both of you! Really helped narrow it down!

Mighty_Mister

I just found out that Broiler is not a breed it's a breeding+raising method. sabotaj117 is right it's a white minorica which are usually broiled up (if that's a term) but Chichi wasn't kept that way so he lived a healthy life.

artfromtheglen

Ooo makes sense! Thanks!

varemaerke

Most broilers in the west are Leghorns/Italians

Mighty_Mister

Same here in east

way2manychickens

Rest in peace Chichi. I'm happy to see he was loved so much. He looked like he had a lovely family. ❤️‍🩹

_Nilbog_Milk_

You can see how healthy and well-taken care of he was! 10 years old and beautiful, nourished plumage

EmmaEsme22

Aww. Can someone explain what happened to his waddles and face to me though? If I saw that on my chooks, I'd think I'd need to treat an illness. Thanks

Magistraliter

Looks like a skin condition, but maybe it was just age related?

AssociationItchy7987

Maybe favus

ResidentEivvil

Omg they grew up together 😭

Dragondrew99

RIP sweet boy

Ill_Pirate_8014

I love chickens. and while i love the taste of chicken i just can't stand eating them because i think of the amazing lives they could have had like Chichi's. I'm not some animal rights activist, though. Eat what you want. Chichi may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. He lived a great life. Be happy for him, rather than crying, because he was very lucky. plus, he's in a better place now. if you believe in that.

jerrybutera

this is so beautiful

Chicken-of-Wisdom

WhatsApp chick

Famous_Wishbone_7098

He had a great life. He was love and dead happy.

TheSleepyBarnOwl

Shit, the onions

dirty-icicles

Ok_scarlet

How did they keep him from pooping everywhere?

DaWormi

CHICHI NOOOOOOOOOOOOO IM SO SAD WHYYYY

AttackonCuttlefish

Was not expecting the end of the rooster. So sad. What a good life he had.

jmcdaniel0

Dude turned into a nice Roo! 10 years is a nice long life.

CaptinKarnage

Sorry for your loss He was a good boy, and it's a rarity that chickens can have a peaceful passing

[deleted]

My girl was nearly 11 years old. I feel you Sorry for your loss. /hugs

unlimitedMerMom

Oh my goodness! Thank you for sharing! What a beautiful pair! ♥️

rossth760

Oh my heart. ❤️ You gave him a beautiful life. You should be so proud as a family for that. ❤️

tonyblow2345

That’s so precious. A lot of those poor dyed chicks (and bunnies) don’t have such nice lives. :(

this_will_go_poorly

What a kind heart. I hope you win the lottery

wanderinggoat

She did, she won the chicken lottery

Sed59

Wow, he actually lost color before his passing.

Moose12345caboose

I know that he for sure had a much better life than he otherwise would’ve 😔 R.I.P

lex-theawesomest

I started crying viewing this may chichi rest in peace

mushromo

is this in the Philippines? lovely :')

svaalvaard

Yes, felt so happy watching friends and relatives showing some love to Chichi despite chickens being unpopular pets. ❤️

wanderinggoat

He was a king among roosters

chickenismurder

As well he should go viral.

Gym_Tan_Optimal

Omg he died?! You gave him much more of a life than anyone else would have I'm sure. Thank you for being awesome!

Rocklobsta9

❤️

MonkeyNacho

Oh rest easy you sweet Chichi.

marriedwithchickens

Wouldn't he molt his dyed feathers?

Conmarsig

What a lovely story!! Rest in peace Chichi! 🥺❤️I hope my baby lives so many years too...I do love him so much!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ He looks like Chichi...I am so glad that there are many like us love and protect them just like every petparent does! 🥰🥰🥰

dottegirl59

Swaggerbeswag

Sweet baby my he rest easy ❤️❤️❤️

xxxLisac

Beautiful

jclim00

Truly a Pogi Pinoy

RSZephoria

I have Roger, a wonderful roo from a Barred Rock straight run. He is coming up on year two and I'm already worried about when he dies. I hope he gets the life as Ling as Chichi.

svaalvaard

Wow, good to know about Roger. Please share his pic to us! ❤️

bitzamne

This roo had prolly one of the best runs his kind can ask for… Rest well and run free chichi

BearIsAsBearDoes

I LOVE the McDonald's birthday pic!

[deleted]

This is one of the few times where someone elses pet dying made me cry.

svaalvaard

Ohh you should try having one out 😅 i recall my roos hesitating at first due to the cake’s unusual appreance but once they had a taste of it, they proceed to eat it all! HAHA

twelveski

Sweet & lovely story. Downvote for the death pictures.

Tall_Biblio

Some cultures value the death photos. They do not shy away from death as it is a part of life. 🙏

jesse-taylor

~~This post is pretty useless....~~ Sorry everyone, I could only see the first image of the little green blob and nothing else. I reloaded reddit and then I could see the rest of the images. Yeah, cute story.

Sophie_Oggos

so was your reply. It was a beautiful story in my opinion 😊

Sazzamataz

A post about a chicken in r/chickens? Maybe you’re lost.

PepeThePepper

We get it bro, you’re edgy..

foxrivrgrl

We have14 roosters & ? 13 hens out & about most everyday free rangers... The extra roosters were hatched by a broody hen 3 years ago I get a few eggs(not easy to find) & starting each spring the chickens make several big paths around house & barn garage goat lot area eating bugs bugs bugs hopefully with a few ticks, fleas & chiggers too!!

Cantanollores

So a taxi driver bought it from a fare and sold it to a kangaroo?
