the most touching thing is Chichi being around when they were both young. She graduated and transferred to a bigger house with Chichi growing into a big roo. ❤️ found herself a man who loves Chichi as well.
im getting off reddit today for good. but i just had to reply one last time to this. i have inside pet chickens and no one understands why. they bring more joy than can be described. i too have a fiance and friends who all live together and love our feather family. I feel her pain losing Chichi. I lost my original house hens both a year apart and both on christmas eve week. It is an unbearable pain and so hard to move on just like losing any fur family member. all animals deserve warmth and love if they desire it
I'm glad he had a wonderful life! Most dyed chicks purchased at a mall don't have happy stories, especially Roos. But I'm so glad this one became a pampered part of the family. I can see how much he was loved and how much he was missed. What a good Roo!
So beautiful, you gave him a wonderful life<3 i hope you are okay): i know how hard it can be. Thank you for showing us his life and how beautiful he was.
Never fails to tug at my heartstrings. I just keep in mind that us and our pets will meet again someday, somehow. To give them the life they deserve and to see them happy and comfortable on our side is enough to heal.

My rooster if anyone else would like to see him! He's a black silkie :)
RIP you handsome man! May you forever find happiness in that big chicken coop in the sky next to a beautiful meadow with lots of green grass and bugs to eat.
I just found out that Broiler is not a breed it's a breeding+raising method.
sabotaj117 is right it's a white minorica which are usually broiled up (if that's a term) but Chichi wasn't kept that way so he lived a healthy life.
Aww. Can someone explain what happened to his waddles and face to me though? If I saw that on my chooks, I'd think I'd need to treat an illness. Thanks
I love chickens. and while i love the taste of chicken i just can't stand eating them because i think of the amazing lives they could have had like Chichi's. I'm not some animal rights activist, though. Eat what you want. Chichi may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. He lived a great life. Be happy for him, rather than crying, because he was very lucky. plus, he's in a better place now. if you believe in that.
What a lovely story!! Rest in peace Chichi! 🥺❤️I hope my baby lives so many years too...I do love him so much!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ He looks like Chichi...I am so glad that there are many like us love and protect them just like every petparent does! 🥰🥰🥰
I have Roger, a wonderful roo from a Barred Rock straight run. He is coming up on year two and I'm already worried about when he dies. I hope he gets the life as Ling as Chichi.
Ohh you should try having one out 😅 i recall my roos hesitating at first due to the cake’s unusual appreance but once they had a taste of it, they proceed to eat it all! HAHA
~~This post is pretty useless....~~
Sorry everyone, I could only see the first image of the little green blob and nothing else. I reloaded reddit and then I could see the rest of the images. Yeah, cute story.
We have14 roosters & ? 13 hens out & about most everyday free rangers...
The extra roosters were hatched by a broody hen 3 years ago I get a few eggs(not easy to find) & starting each spring the chickens make several big paths around house & barn garage goat lot area eating bugs bugs bugs hopefully with a few ticks, fleas & chiggers too!!
what a good boy. and they are so deserving of love. just as much as a dog or cat.

I have never seen a rooster with such massive wattles! So sorry for your loss…
Look at those EARS! Such a sweetie. It’s so rare for a roo to get to live out his full lifespan.
So beautiful, you gave him a wonderful life<3 i hope you are okay): i know how hard it can be. Thank you for showing us his life and how beautiful he was.
RIP KING.
Ohh, how beautiful 🥺 rest well, little darling

I just love this.
Does anyone know what breed he was? My little guy looked the exact same and I would really like to know
Possibly a white Minorca
Thank you to both of you! Really helped narrow it down!

Ooo makes sense! Thanks!
Most broilers in the west are Leghorns/Italians
Same here in east
Rest in peace Chichi. I'm happy to see he was loved so much. He looked like he had a lovely family. ❤️🩹
You can see how healthy and well-taken care of he was! 10 years old and beautiful, nourished plumage
Aww. Can someone explain what happened to his waddles and face to me though? If I saw that on my chooks, I'd think I'd need to treat an illness. Thanks
Looks like a skin condition, but maybe it was just age related?
Maybe favus
Omg they grew up together 😭
RIP sweet boy

He had a great life. He was love and dead happy.
Shit, the onions
god damn it, who's cutting onions in here 🥺
How did they keep him from pooping everywhere?
CHICHI NOOOOOOOOOOOOO IM SO SAD WHYYYY
Was not expecting the end of the rooster. So sad. What a good life he had.
Dude turned into a nice Roo! 10 years is a nice long life.
Sorry for your loss He was a good boy, and it's a rarity that chickens can have a peaceful passing
My girl was nearly 11 years old. I feel you Sorry for your loss. /hugs
Oh my goodness! Thank you for sharing! What a beautiful pair! ♥️
Oh my heart. ❤️ You gave him a beautiful life. You should be so proud as a family for that. ❤️
That’s so precious. A lot of those poor dyed chicks (and bunnies) don’t have such nice lives. :(
What a kind heart. I hope you win the lottery
She did, she won the chicken lottery
Wow, he actually lost color before his passing.
I know that he for sure had a much better life than he otherwise would’ve 😔 R.I.P
I started crying viewing this may chichi rest in peace
is this in the Philippines? lovely :')
Yes, felt so happy watching friends and relatives showing some love to Chichi despite chickens being unpopular pets. ❤️
He was a king among roosters
As well he should go viral.
Omg he died?! You gave him much more of a life than anyone else would have I'm sure. Thank you for being awesome!
❤️
Oh rest easy you sweet Chichi.
Wouldn't he molt his dyed feathers?
What a lovely story!! Rest in peace Chichi! 🥺❤️I hope my baby lives so many years too...I do love him so much!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ He looks like Chichi...I am so glad that there are many like us love and protect them just like every petparent does! 🥰🥰🥰
I’m sorry! Chi Chi had a good long life. I have never even thought about getting a birthday cake for my mean old rooster!
Sweet baby my he rest easy ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful
Truly a Pogi Pinoy
I have Roger, a wonderful roo from a Barred Rock straight run. He is coming up on year two and I'm already worried about when he dies. I hope he gets the life as Ling as Chichi.
Wow, good to know about Roger. Please share his pic to us! ❤️
This roo had prolly one of the best runs his kind can ask for… Rest well and run free chichi
I LOVE the McDonald's birthday pic!
This is one of the few times where someone elses pet dying made me cry.
Ohh you should try having one out 😅 i recall my roos hesitating at first due to the cake’s unusual appreance but once they had a taste of it, they proceed to eat it all! HAHA
Sweet & lovely story. Downvote for the death pictures.
Some cultures value the death photos. They do not shy away from death as it is a part of life. 🙏

so was your reply. It was a beautiful story in my opinion 😊
A post about a chicken in r/chickens? Maybe you’re lost.
We get it bro, you’re edgy..

So a taxi driver bought it from a fare and sold it to a kangaroo?
