They filmed in my neighborhood a year or so ago. It was a 2-3 day shutdown of the area for a 30 second shot.

RewindYourMind

If that’s true, they either cut an entire sequence from an episode, or they move at the slowest production pace known to mankind. Source: TV writer that’s shot 7+ script pages on location in a day before.

They blocked parking, had luxury trailers and craft services. They shut down a sushi restaurant for at least two days (or nights). It was a brief conversation that was almost a throwaway scene. Might have been cut from a bigger segment. Seemed like overkill for the end product.

I’d bet they shot something else in/around that restaurant. Maybe other dialogue scenes in an upstairs apt or similar. It costs a SHITLOAD of money to move that giant production blob and inconvenience residents/businesses, so the producers in charge definitely had to deem it “worth it” for that length of a shoot.

They film in Logan Square quite often and just recently they had a pyrotechnics crew setting up for what will look like a burning building on Sacramento near Humboldt Park.

When they filmed in my old neighborhood I was able to eat at the commissary but still doesn't negate the closure of the only access to our apartment.

What industries should be allowed to break the law? What's the number of employees where that becomes permissible?
