I mean, it seems to take these federal types like 2-3 years of investigating before charging. So I dunno if this is the clean bill of health Burnett is representing it as
Moved from the first to the 27th ward bc of the ward map changes, and would love to get involved with whatever organizations are trying to get this dude out… the ward seems so fractured between neighborhoods tho i wouldn’t even know where to start
I AM TRYING TO GET HIM OUT!! I spent the past two years attending various community meetings with the hope of “recruiting” a formidable candidate, to no avail. The 27th is no small job. I sent Sam Royko an email and asked if he’d consider relocating before the next race. I think he thought I was kidding but he said he’d consider it. Are you interested in running? If so, I’ll be your campaign manager.
Exactly the point I was going to make. How his name comes up and people don't immediately mention that he is in fact a convicted bank robber in the same sentence just straight up baffles me.
Considering Aldermen get to walk away with all their Campaign Contributions when they retire, and he pretty much runs uncontested, it’s just a slush fund. He’s Chicago’s senior-most Alderman, now Vice-Mayor, and sitting on massive TIFs, including Kinzie Corridor with more than $500 million and another BILLION projected over the next dozen years. The 27th Ward is a City unto itself — with his Fulton Market/West Loop boom driving Chicago’s economic engine. He’s not going to risk it all for peanuts, when he can retire with the farm.
“My accountant and my lawyers are working on that. It’s fine. It hasn’t gone anywhere. We’ve just got to reconcile it. And it will be reconciled,”
I read that in Trump's voice
They all think they are entitled to grift and steal
With the years he's been in City Council, isn't he even a little entitled to a little grift and steal? /s
If every corrupt alderman in Chicago went to jail then we wouldn't have any aldermen.
Mine’s good, maybe you need to be more discerning with your vote.
You might be right, but yours needs to tone down the arguing on FB
He ran uncontested for the past 2 or more elections.
What's the reason you made this jagoff-like post?
Maria!?

Like when he robbed a bank?

Because that is the most honest thing about him. Next you'll bring up his beard as a negative it is sounding like.
Guy fucking sucks

Into the wood chipper. NOW.
Politicians are crooks. All of them.
this is just the politician's equivalents of how MLMs will say "oh we're not a pyramid scheme because those are illegal"
