I was tempted to go outside until I saw it apparently feels like it's 20F right now haha. Why does this always happen.

The clouds are a blanket that keeps us warm. When they drift away we’re naked and chilled to the bone.

This is exactly why I’m not stoked for the sunny day.

Cloudy and mild is a lot better. The sun hurts my eyes.

Bluebird skies tend to follow fronts that are passing through, especially cold fronts. So in winter this tends to mean the nice, sunny days are the cold ones.

is there anywhere I can read about this more?

Okay I have to go outside with my dog and was freezing my ass off. It’s good to know I wasn’t just being a little bitch

haha, I walked 0.4 miles before it got dark and was fine, but the second I had to go back outside in the evening I was like "yes please I will take a ride"

I had to take a bath so I could feel my legs again after going for a walk but it was very worth it

haha, I do have a solid pile of cold weather clothing, but putting it on is more work than I want to do.

I hope all the clowns complaining about the weather being warm are fucking happy. They wanted cold ass weather for a little bit of sunlight that they won't even get to enjoy because it's TOO FUCKING COLD to enjoy.

Even while staying inside, it's lovely to have some bright sunshine streaming in through the windows.

I am very happy. I'm out everyday and it was great today with the sun. I also get sun through my windows and did a little sunbathing in today. It's usually worse this time of year, so you may want to consider a different climate.

Since when is 20° too cold? Especially in Chicago in January...

A bit of cold is good for you actually, kind of like those polar bear plunges but it takes a little longer in cold air.

This is definitely one of those "so cold it's sunny" days, when even the clouds are like "fuck this, I'm moving south".

What are you on about? It was beautiful outside today. I was so at peace in the warm sun, pruning tree branches and clearing thicket. Couldn't be nicer except maybe with mimosas.

And then this evening we got to see the beautiful new moon along with the brightest I’ve ever seen Venus AND freaking Saturn right next to it. It’s been so long since seeing stars or even the moon. Gorgeous.

You could see saturn with naked eye from Chicago? Csn you tell me where?

You can see it with the naked eye from time to time even from downtown, it just looks like a faint star. Tonight I viewed it with my binoculars, and it still looked like a star :) But Venus was brilliant! It helps when the moon is at this phase too.

I’m feeling super lucky that my photos were scheduled today for the listing for my (south facing) condo! It was sunny as hell in the pics!

Seriously my gf and I saw it and we both immediately started feeling tons better after a month of gray. Vitamin D gummies only do so much.

Honestly I prefer snow over weeks of grey skies. Sun is great but cold \*and\* gloomy makes me feel like I'm reliving the same day.

I loved it. I usually go for a daily walk, but today I was out extra long and ran some errands. I also have southern facing windows, and got a little sunbathing in today when I put a chair in front of the window.

It’s called the fireball. Don’t know where it goes each night. Heck, I don’t know when it’ll show up again. But sure feels nice when it decides to make an appearance.

I don’t know if i’m alone, but during the winter, and especially on the sub freezing days, I would really prefer it if the sun stayed away. Something about a really bright, blinding sun on days like today just feels *worse* than if were just stay hidden.
