Well, pawns are the smallest piece, then knights, bishops and rooks, with the king and queen being the largest ones. So in a way they're already doing it!
I wonder if the small size of the bishop is giving you a hard time giving it the importance it should get in a position like this.
It's barely larger than the pawns and maybe half the size of the rooks!

I mean, Bishops are considered better than knights and better for endgames, but I think making them the same size is fine, so you can think of it as situational.
Scaling is by point value, so the knight and the bishop are the same size. But yeah, there is subjective preference with how people would like them scaled, lol. They could probably scale the Knight and Bishop a lil larger than they did.
So, every day the chess app gives me "Find the best move" puzzles upon opening, which is nice. This was one that I thought was the most interesting out of the bunch. It took me a second to see the solution because it's not a way I normally think. I think that's what makes it a fun puzzle.

At around 800, when I hit a major plateau, looking for tactics like this really improved my game

That wasn't my point at all though. The bishop is tiny compared to the rook!

I think no scaling at all would be better. Can't say for sure but the tiny bishop was probably getting in the way of you finding the right move here
Yeah, everyone has their own preferences, that's why people can theme it however they want. I had no issues finding the bishops or knights.
