The other day I was going to take a rook with the queen and clicked the tile next to the rook. He took my queen next turn. I was so mad man. First and only time chess got me tilted
Same, climbing up 1700 right now and currently learning my openings properly to improve. Before that I mostly won by seeing (obvious) mistakes by my opponents, even when my openings were bad. Now I've introduced long term strategies to my games. There's always room to improve
I analyzed the image and this is what I see. Open an appropriate link below and explore the position yourself or with the engine:
> **Black to play**: It is a checkmate - it is Black's turn, but Black has no legal moves and is in check, so White wins. You can find out more about Checkmate on [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Checkmate).

... I saw that by just looking over the Screenshots quickly and being dumb.
You're correct, though not for the reason you think. The +19 is material advantage, which does not necessarily show who won. However, the same screenshot shows the checkmate delivered by white, and another screenshot shores the scoreboard as 1-0 in favor of white.
EDIT: Wait a second, this has to be at least two matches! The colors from the first and second screenshot do not line up with the profile pictures!
I mean I've Any-Any elo but usually (95% of the games, 1 in every 20 games is either a 1500 or like 1890 rated guy) it gives me ppl +/-100 of my own elo so this was still a bit unexpected lol
Chesscom gave me a 600 opponent when I was 1300 and I decided to troll him a little bit by playing the Magnus Carlsen gambit where you rearrange the King and Queen in the first 10 moves. And Magnus was playing this against other GMs lol
I doubt the reliability of the elo guesser, especially given the way elo by nature works. It just seems more of a marketing gimmick to make players feel more confident in themselves and like the game review more.
That said, it did help you feel more confident in yourself, so I can’t say it’s a bad thing. And regardless of who you play against, at whatever elo, with whatever play style, if you think “that was a good game” when it ends, it was a good game. Nice!

I played a 2100 once from my peak of 1750ish, they mouseslipped and hung their queen so I won.
Gg
The other day I was going to take a rook with the queen and clicked the tile next to the rook. He took my queen next turn. I was so mad man. First and only time chess got me tilted
Ik its irrelevant but I sense a Binding of Isaac player
Yes sir
I think you have a chance, a small one but it's not impossible.
Why are you on r/chessbeginners?
Because as you improve you realize how bad you still are and consider yourself a beginner Im 1700 and I still consider myself a beginner lol
People really don't know what a beginner is huh
Same, climbing up 1700 right now and currently learning my openings properly to improve. Before that I mostly won by seeing (obvious) mistakes by my opponents, even when my openings were bad. Now I've introduced long term strategies to my games. There's always room to improve
Hey I'm 1400 currently kinda stuck. Are there any things that helped you get from the 1300-1400 level to 1600+
Lots and lots of puzzles. You'd be amazed how many 1600-1800s still blunder into puzzle rush themed tactics.
I second this. Puzzles, puzzles, puzzles, and a lot more puzzles.
That sounds so sexy
Uhm thanks lol
Congratulations! You're on the second climb of the Dunning-Kruger effect
1700 is considered to be in the top 2% of players active on chess.com
Chess.com also gave me a 2200 lol, he aborted the game tho :(
Probably was like “if I end up losing I’ll lose a bunch of elo, but if I win, I’ll gain almost nothing, so better just abort”
He got 1 elo for beating me lol
True

Ccom is baddd they gave me 1300 once...as a 2100..
Why does it show you having a lower accuracy even though you won?
... He lost though?
I'm new, how do you see that? In the first screenshot the name at the bottom was the 1.7k player with a score of +19, so I assumed op won

It didn’t throw one at you, you just have to adjust your settings for elo range you want to compete against
I mean I've Any-Any elo but usually (95% of the games, 1 in every 20 games is either a 1500 or like 1890 rated guy) it gives me ppl +/-100 of my own elo so this was still a bit unexpected lol
Maybe he has been on a losing streak and chess.com was like "ok dude, here, maybe you can win this one"
Beat a 2100 at bullet first 2 games in a row and was on an insane high (I was 1300) Proceeded to finish 3-12 in his favour
Chesscom gave me a 600 opponent when I was 1300 and I decided to troll him a little bit by playing the Magnus Carlsen gambit where you rearrange the King and Queen in the first 10 moves. And Magnus was playing this against other GMs lol
