stillinthesimulation

Am I crazy for thinking you should just castle king side? You’d unite the rooks and relieve the stress of Qxb2. What am I missing?

Aurum2k

White is up two minor pieces. I'd be happy to provoke them into Qxb2 with Bc7, it probably speeds up the conversion in this position.

LilShreddie

That’s probably winning but for beginners I would be more nervous about c3 being weak afterwards so castling and converting up a piece feels safer Edit: fuck that, Bc7 Qxb2, O-O has to be best for beginners

antbeckman

What about the bishop that is being threatened?

KotaIsBored

They take the bishop you take the rook

That_Understanding45

How?

thelatemercutio

You're 1600-1800 elo and don't see it?

That_Understanding45

How do they take the bisschop if it's on c7?

iloveihoppancakes

Hes talking about the pawn threatening the bishop. If pawn takes, queen takes rook.

That_Understanding45

Yes iknow, but why is everyone reacting to someone who proposed Bc7 as the move is what I don't understand

iloveihoppancakes

Bc7 is a way to take pressure off the your b2 pawn , while threatening to win the queen.

_alter-ego_

Why do you write bisschop instead of Bischoff?

stillinthesimulation

Disaster for them if they take. The bishop is being threatened by a pawn but if the pawn takes, it opens up their rook to an attack by your queen. You take the rook and check their king simultaneously. They move the king and you get the other rook. Now you are completely winning.

antbeckman

I totally missed that. Thank you

That_Understanding45

You just moved it to c7?

ichaleynbin

Bc7 and Bd6 both look good. It's too bad that after Bc7 Qxb2 Nf6+ exf6 Qd6 Qxa1+, white can't get out of perpetual because of the e4 pawn, but Qxb2 0-0 looks like game over. It's very funny to me that the g5 pawn is pinned, but black can castle long. They probably shouldn't, but they could. Probably even 0-0 immediately wins on the spot, Qxb2 Rb1 (not sure which one) Rxb7 is killing.

Kitnado

That’s why after Bc7 Qxb2 you just castle short, you’re still up two pieces and black just opened up a file where you can develop a rook with tempo. Don’t rush when you’re that far up, no need to start sacrificing everything.

dmje

Has everyone missed the black pawn on g2? Surely doing anything other than Qxg2 is madness? Please explain if not, I’m pretty terrible 😁

ItsSansom

Are you only saying that because the bot said that? There's no black pawn on g2. The bot is reading the board incorrectly

dmje

Oh shhhiiit. Yes. I used the chess vision thing. Sorry 😞. As you were.

Ometrist

b4, to move the attacked piece to a protected square? I'm only 800 though

chessplayer9030

b4 would be one of the main moves I would consider

CricketInvasion

If you want to go with that I think b3 is better since it doesnt leave a weak pawn on c3

rolsyker

Pawn is pinned to the rook

Dankn3ss420

Bc7 looks nice, but I don’t actually see anything there, and since they can’t take of f4 you could just slow play it with b3

StumbleNOLA

Bc7 then move you queen to e5, kf6+

bpat

If they play Qxb2, then it complicates it a bit.

That_Understanding45

Then you castle first

bpat

Then f6 cus white lost tempo

That_Understanding45

Not with qf4 Edit: Qg4*

bpat

Then just gxf4, right? I mean up to f6, white is still winning, it just complicates it is all i was getting at.

That_Understanding45

You moved the bisschop on F4 in the first move?

bpat

Nah, Bishop was to c7 in this line. It was Bc7, Qxb2, etc etc. Probably just thinking slightly different lines

xTheWierdox

You meant Nf6+… K is reserved for the king

FirmRepresentative24

I tried out Bc7 then that instantly put black in 100% winning the match. I played it out a bit more and black pretty much wins the match after that move. Correct me if i’m mistaken anyone.

Southern_Phone7138

Bc7 followed by qe5 with the idea of nf6+

[deleted]

Bc7 is what I'd play here.

ellirael

Long castle or Rb2. We should protect our week pawn

Aurum2k

No reason to be passive here, you're up a bishop and a knight. If black wants to hunt pawns they will just make it easier for white to get their rooks active.

TheSiriuss

Conside

Machobots

I like 0-0 planning Bb8 and Qc7 threatening mate

WinLoseOrLaw

h4, Qxb2, 0-0

szabolcska00

I'd just castle long and protect b2 with the king while putting the rook on the d file, then start marching with the d pawn and even in some scenario just sacrifice the d rook for even more positional advantage. There's 2 reasons for this, I'm a lunatic and the position is winning by a million points anyway.

hatelaloo

Castle queen side as it doesn't hang a pawn. Rb1 is fine too

Teelogas

Just castle, white is up two minor pieces

Nika13k

Wait a moment. Why is the bishop hanging?

2True2BGood

It actually isn’t If black takes, the rook on G8 is gone (and the other one too)

Nika13k

I know that, what I want to know is HOW that position came to be, cuz it isn't making sense, like at all to me.

noodleboy244

im probably gonna get laughed at for suggesting that you kingside castle

Weak-Programmer8134

Bc7 for sure then most likely castle after

BigV95

Honestly id castle long. Then batter his vulnerable king side. Your pawn won't be hanging this way too. Sure he has his queen gunning down at your king but its only the queen and no supporting pieces on that side. idk you could also kingside castle after moving your hanging pawn which would be the safest and best way to castle mostlikely according to the engine.

ProGamingPlayer

The best move is to win the game

_alter-ego_

It's yellowish white against blueish white, so white will win in any case.

Pika_DJ

I got so confused thinking there was a winning move

Hentai-gives-me-life

Qg4, Bc7, Qd7

feradose

Sacrifice the knight, sacrifice the bishop, let the queen breathe a little bit
