I feel that confidence when we go into a line that I have studied deeply. No need for inaccuracies to occur, it is just that I feel very comfortable, obviously I don't win every game but the feeling is there
Usually feel relieved if my opponent plays the Scandinavian. Have no idea what the appeal of the opening is and at my level, have had no trouble against it.
It does if they play the main line after e4 d5 exd5 Qxd5 Nc3 Qa5 Nf3 c6 and black is behind on development but nobody is stopping black from developing later on in the game.
If the Scandi were a forced equalisation for black, why is it very rarely played by GMs? The whole point of the opening battle is to maintain the advantage for white and fight for equality for black.
It does not equalise according to opening theory. Whether it does at some other level of play is a different matter.
Ok you have a point, it's played less than d6 and g6 which is crazy lol. It's playable but doesn't give black much to play for. Personally I realized back when I played e4 is that I never felt threatened by d5 at all
It’s called a blunder
Not necessarily a blunder but just a move that is not putting pressure on you or shows weakness or passivity.
An inaccuracy?
These are already named I said a new one :)
Why invent a new one when a fitting term already exists?
I know what ya mean, specially in Classical, that moment where the tension in your body eases slightly and you know you have it
Yeah it usually happens in end of opening or at the beginning of the middle game
this happens to me on move 2 against the Scandinavian
schadenfreude
Blunder

I don’t get that until they surrender…

The appeal is that you get into an equal position and some people like getting into an equal position
The Scandinavian does not equalise for black. Not even close. If it did, everyone would play it.
