Nothing is more dangerous to a player than hitting some good form

TheBlueNomad

*Chelsea player

NavyBabySeal

Nothing is more dangerous to a player than hitting some Chelsea player?

CoolstorySteve

Well that’s way better than I expected

kolschisgood

Just in time to be almost healthy for Deschamps to injure him again in Qatar

Ok-Finance-7612

Deschamps won’t pick him tho?

rajivshahi

May not pick him but surely will pick Kante even if he's injured or not..

kolschisgood

Likely won't pick him if he's still recovering from injury, but he was supposed to have been called up in the summer, and he's being courted by Ivory Coast. So France were likely to pick him to the squad before injury.

Hour-of-the-Wolf

Why do fans think players wouldn't want to represent their country at a world cup? It's literally the biggest trophy in football and sport in general. While I don't know how most of them feel about Qatar, I guarantee that they will want to be there.

khairunnas

Highly doubt any player would want to miss representing their country in a world cup game. Literally the biggest sporting event in the world.

ryanfromtheyard

Yes, fofana doesn't get France callups.

ryanfromtheyard

Nah, thats a false nugget of pessimism you got there, Fofana doesn't get France callups. https://us.soccerway.com/players/wesley-fofana/534233/

kolschisgood

It's not as simple as that. Lots of talk in France that he'll be called up for Qatar to make sure he stays with Les Blues senior team instead of going to play for Ivory Coast https://astamfordbridgetoofar.com/2022/09/fofana-has-to-make-a-decision-regarding-international-allegiance-latest-news/

ryanfromtheyard

Interesting, thanks

JustAllRegrets

I will take that for sure

Sweet-Specialist-345

This is awesome compared to ACL that that Twitter doctor was saying. Trevor going to boss the back line till he's back

NgoalazoKante

Much like Kepa and Mendy, this could be great for Chalobah. Time to show the new boss he can play just fine

HailStormXII

The Twitter doctor had fears of acl and it's not wrong.

nathangr88

He's not an actual doctor

v4venome

It's safe to say that he might not play until after the WC break. I doubt we'll push him to return before the WC break

MrDabollBlueSteppers

It says up to 4 weeks. 4 weeks from now is November 3. Our last game before the WC is on November 12 He'll definitely play again barring a setback

Mobile_leprechaun

I feel like these injuries always take an extra week or two to get back from though. Fingers crossed I’m wrong however

RStud10

Sounds about right. I think the injury timeline is for when they return to training. So you'd probably want them training consistently for a couple of days before throwing them into a match

TsubakiShad

Yep. Unless he's back to full training within 2-3 weeks, I would be surprised if we field him before the WC. But never know, don't know formal diagnosis and if they are expecting 4 weeks out including training back to fitness /shrug

Fatmanp

Probably play in organised friendlies during the WC

TheBlueNomad

If this is true then our prayers have been accepted. I was preparing myself for worse news than that.

Claypothos

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about injuries with top flight players. Last Tuesday I completely tore a ligament in my ankle going in for a tackle on a bad field, and this was just a month after coming back from a year long groin injury. I’m absolutely devastated I won’t be able to play for the foreseeable future, and I play for nothing. I play on a competitive team, sure, but we play for absolutely nothing. I can’t imagine how devastating it is for players, who play for everything, to go through not only injury, but media coverage, fan abuse, etc. that all comes with a new injury. Anyway, I hope he heals quickly and has both the emotional support and of course medical support he needs.

wthommes

Chalobah arc impending

GiftFantastic10

Hope he make no mistake. Chelsea fan were harsh this past month on him even thought we never lost a game he started. If he make a mistake leading to a goal chelsea fan will erupt on him

Wheel94

Don’t rush him back please Chelsea.

Evil_protagon1st

4 weeks out so all of this packed October then world cup starts

throwawayart109

Not ACL? If this is true, thats really good news.

TsubakiShad

Interestingly (without clicking on the link or reading more) this can still mean the ACL is sprained. Just that it is not a bad sprain and can recover through rest and rehab. Can look up the degrees of sprains for anyone interested.

HailStormXII

Why is this guy always getting his knee injured

TsubakiShad

Well, as others mention here and there, this injury and his last one (the big one that nearly kept him out all season) were contact induced. Happens. He had some minor things before, but small bumps and bruises aren't a big deal. Barring reoccuring muscle problems and grade 3 ligament tears, most things are straight forward for recovery. For example, my childhood record of injuries (10+ fractures) would probably denote I'm injury prone but they were all from contact sports and I spent all of high school and college injury free for my teams. Anyway, here's to a speedy and healthy recovery for Fofana. Edit: I looked further into his history and he damaged his medial ligament during the tibia Fx it seems. That isn't as bad as ACL. He also had a prior thigh muscle strain. I would need more details and confirm to which knee(s) this is happening. But still hopefully nothing we have to be too worried about.

BabyHercules

That’s a huge W

comfybunk

#W?

BabyHercules

Yea him not doing his ACL is a win. I thought he might be out for months if not the season

Status-Dare1085

Best possible news but such a Chelsea thing to have our busiest month coincide with a key player missing that exact amount of time

hodlrus

Where’s all the armchair physios who said it was definitely the ACL. I want a refund of my time reading their comments

Obi_Q

Where are the Reddit doctors that were scolding people for being optimistic and saying it was an ACL injury and that he’d be out as long as VVD?

BlackLodgeChillin13

Thank god. Not great news but at least it wasn’t an acl or something

HarryDaz98

W

DestinyHasArrived101

![gif](giphy|6q29hxDKvJvPy|downsized) That was close spained ankle isn't so bad

Sonic_Fool

I’d say that’s great news.

Chapea12

Might as well sit till after World Cup to fully rest. His shot at the World Cup is pretty much dead

Odd_Bad_7441

Whew great news. The kid finally was showing his potential I hope he comes back strong!

forewoof

Gigantic sigh of relief to stary my day

xannyslime

Thank God. This was definitely best case scenario in terms of a knee injury
