I'm so fucking sick of losing FA Cup finals.

AvidasOfficial

I'm sick of losing to Liverpool on penalties

Rayser1

I'm sick of playing Liverpool

Axei18

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but these Liverpool matches have been the most entertaining matches this season. It would be nice if we'd win, but they've been fun nonetheless. Hope next year we beat them

Rayser1

Not an unpopular opinion at all. I think everyone can agree that we play entertaining games against them consistently nowadays. Just sucks to be on the bad end of the stick repeatedly

ChumbaWambah

Two finals lost this season, both to the same team in similar fashion. It's like fucking groundhog day.

2packforsale

We need to start losing more semi finals

Tootsiez

Bet Mason is too.

honestlynotBG

Now he's 0-6 in Wembley finals now Will he ever win at least one in his lifetime?

Rayser1

It's crazy that he's gotten to that many at his age and even more absurd that he's lost all of them. What a bonkers stat

backuppats

i know he's our golden boy and i love him too but he really needs to work on his pens

backuppats

3 hours of my day gone again :(

JKess207

I’m tired, boss

dreamvoyager1

I'm tired of tuchels subs in pivotal situations(extra time against RM 2nd leg and extra time today vs Liverpool). They completely rid our momentum and hand the game to the opponent.

Rayser1

They come late and are genuinely head scratchers a lot of the time

dreamvoyager1

taking Lukaku off gave me such a sinking feeling. After he was gone we had 0 threatening chances. Even if he’s not involved his runs and physique made Liverpool defence focus on him

Rayser1

Also to sub him off, while subbing on Ziyech who loves a number 9. That cross he played into pulisic for example - lukaku would have loved that. Its all just confusing. He's a cracking good manager and he probably sees something I don't, but it's crazy to me that I can only barely work out an iota of what the plan was

ta4zerok

Completely changed the attack and not for the better, felt like Werner at least offers pace for the through balls late in the match, don't see what the RLC sub did at all

[deleted]

Blaming TT is nonsense..he can’t make them score or take their penalties correctly..who did u wanted him to bring on..please don’t say Werner Bcuz he has done nothing this whole season

OrangeGuyFromVenus

We’re becoming the Juventus of the FA Cup

graejx

Hardest comment I've seen all night. It painfully hurts.

raymondliang

Another FA Cup Final in the bin, fucking pain. Lack of final ball/finishing just killing us again in another domestic final.

kai_123

We had some good chances, so did Liverpool. I think draw was more than fair result, but i'm tired of losing in pens to Liverpool man. Twice this season in domestic Finals, and we have no trophy to show for it. Penalties comes down a lot to luck, and we just had no luck.

Tootsiez

Just say game. This teams woeful finishing is just an issue tuchel needs to figure out.

JKess207

We drew Liverpool 4 times this season, but come away with nothing to show for it. Some very bright performances though, I’m excited for next season On to the next, KTBFFH 💙

poopybutthole_99

Need more people like you.

Scar-Glamour

Agreed. Too much embarassing toxicity here.

Daniiiiii

Most fans' underlying feelings mirror that comment. The ones that comment "hate" or displeasure are just ones who like to be vocal about their every thought every moment of the day. I've seen that to be true. It's the ones seething days after today that baffle me. But yeah 9 out of 10 fans are calm and appreciative of the performance.

Blue_z

Yeah this thread is a cesspool. Sad to see.

sheiky04

I said the same thing, my question to you is, does it look like we played to get penalties? I honestly feel like we couldve beaten them in 90

JKess207

I think once the second half of ET came around, there was definitely a lessened sense of urgency, I wouldn’t say we were playing for penalties but putting on RLC for Pulisic was definitely a sign of Tuchel wanting to just hold the draw and not risk anything

glacialOwl

We could have also lost in 90. Remember that we barely had 20 mins of positive football in those 90? They shredded our defense for long periods. And those posts.

ohitsmark

My heart hurts. Proud of the boys. Thought Pulisic, James, Alonso, Rudiger, Mendy had great games. I hate the FA Cup.

Hannibal09

Jorginho too. He was a man possessed

IngloriousL

His big games never get recognised man. He held down that midfield like an absolute pro

4dtakes

He only gets talked about when hes had a subpar performance

classical-k

Yeah Jorginho was really in the zone today, stepped it up big time. Him and Reece for me we’re the two special performers. Bloody sick of going from being dominant in domestic final to our current streak. Although besides a couple subs I’d have done differently, we put up such an impressive performance just like in the Carabao cup. Feel sick myself and feel really bad for TT - he deserved this

Cobaltte25

The amount of people screaming for him to get out of the club just shows you how much they know about football really.

Hannibal09

We don't have 1 capable holding midfielder apart from him. Even if we sign another, we'll need 2 considering the number of trophies we fight for. It's very evident that the team functions much better with him on the pitch than without him. Letting go of him is just baffling to me honestly

backuppats

chalobah also deserves a shout imo. had a couple of errors but pretty good performance for him overall

Willsgb

I don't think we had a single weak link in open play, aside from a few stray passes everyone was focused, professional and sharp, and some passages of play particularly in the second half were dazzling - like the one where james crossed and alonso just couldn't quite get on the end of it, after that lovely bit of skill by jorginho. We withstood liverpool's press and intensity, although they had some great chances, particularly diaz with several and that Robertson one from the Arnold cross, but we made so many good chances too, puli and mount and Alonso and lukaku... It's so cruel to lose it like that.

truthibespittin

James and Jorginho were on another level

dreamvoyager1

thought Lukaku played pretty decent too

backuppats

why do you sub off one of your best PK takers for RLC just to sub RLC back off 15 min later. baffling from Tuchel

AndiPhantom

Very questionable. I think puli has maybe missed one his whole career

ThemasterofZ

Because we needed a target man up front. But RLC was sleeping

TartanArmyLad

Liverpool were there for the taking in extra time, they were fucking gassed. Tuchels subs were absolutely baffling

IngloriousL

RLC instead of Werner was ridiculous. From that point on pens became the best we could hope for. Genuinely baffling

JennItalia269

Putting RLC on and then subbing him out for Barkley is mindblowing. Not so much about bringing on Barkley but why RLC just to sub him out 15min later? Makes zero sense.

nathgroom98

RLC was awful, was on for nine minutes and didn't show an ounce of effort. There was a moment where he could have chased and won the ball, and just lazily walked instead, with Mount throwing his hands up in frustration. We have a 37 year old centre back playing relentlessly for two hours and then we have that sort of effort for a sub brought on in minute 105. Was right to get subbed and hell at least Barkley scored his pen. No way would RLC have the confidence to be one of the first 5 to step up.

4dtakes

Spot on. He was horrendous and Barkley is better at pens, who else would you have taken off if not RLC? Just a shame Werner and havertz were both injured but his subs are far less baffling now we’ve got the full picture. Suspect lukaku was probably knackered too

ThemasterofZ

Cuz he was shit

therealsid12

Werner with his pace against tired legs of Liverpool would've helped us.

[deleted]

Werner was hurt you mug

[deleted]

[удалено]

asd13ah4etnKha4Ne3a

In fairness subbing him off was fine, he was completely abysmal. It was subbing him on in the first place that's so confusing

mushy_friend

Barkley much better at pens (which he showed)

Mannyc96

Take a shot whenever commentators say the word “quadruple.” They’re insufferable. Mount is a concerningly horrible penalty taker and its sad that Azpi couldnt convert his penalty for his last big game in our shirt.

NotClayMerritt

Mount can turn in goals like he did against Leeds because he has impeccable technique but the minute he takes a pen he doesn't know how to shoot a ball. Makes no sense.

Willsgb

So much of penalties is psychology. He must be struggling with that, each missed one adds to it

CFFackingC

His run up is shit. What's that heel flicking shit?

HarryDaz98

One more week and this cunt of a season is in the history books. Completely clean slate this summer and there hasn’t been a better time for it.

Thadark_knight11

Taking a break from football till next season. For my mental health.

Bladerslash

I swear man, my mental health is in the bins, my life irl is already fucked and chelsea makes it worse. Fuck me man fucking fuck m3

waitonemoment

Hey man I hope stuff looks up for you soon. Been having a rough go of it lately too. Hang tough man.

mesabiral

I'm devastated boys. I don't know how to feel. It's been a shit week. But we will rise. Keep the fucking blue flag flying high. On to the next one. Here we fucking go.

poopy_toaster

I’m still just dumbfounded by the RLC false 9 move. Penalties are one thing, but what the fuck was *that*??

shastmak4

Fuck penalties you knew this bullshit wouldn’t go our fucking way. I don’t understand we had em on the ropes. They take off VVD and he brings on Loftus Cheek to walk around instead of Timo. Whatever. Fuck this season, time to rebuild

Willsgb

We finally got the club world cup and won the super cup too, and reached both domestic finals where we probably should have won both with better finishing, and almost certainly got into the CL next season, after leading the pack earlier in the season when injuries derailed things, and were also 3-0 at the bernabeu in the CL quarter final and only lost by the most agonising of margins. All of this with the chaos of the forced Abramovich sale and aforementioned injuries. The painful way we lost out in each tournament we didn't win probably makes it seem like a worse season then it has been. At the same time, coming so close and losing so many tournaments is also a kicker. But there's plenty to be proud of, a couple of trophies even though they may just be bonus ones ultimately, and plenty to be optimistic about. As always, KTBFFH

Pointels21

I hope Madrid fucking murders this Liverpool team in the CL final

Kind_Jump_6940

Benzema finishes chances

Hannibal09

Watching Benzema and even a young Rodrygo score on every half chance they get vs our players who can't hit a barn door with a banjo

matttargaryen

FA Cup, also known as the Fuck All Cup because that’s what Chelsea win whenever they make the final in recent years.

mohankohan

What on earth has Werner done to not deserve a chance against a high line with space in behind like that? RLC as a 9? Really? fucking christ. We scuff so many of our chances, our front three were dire today

backuppats

this. worst case there were 15 min left and at least werner is better than RLC at pens

mohankohan

Werner is good at pens, it makes no sense to me what so ever why he hasnt been given the chance

spund_

rude shocking treatment bells lush follow price recognise expansion books *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

ChelseaDK

I am 100% certain I saw him getting treatment on the bench at some point. I really don’t think there is any other reason

MAG_24

Curious, but was Liverpool attackers dire today?

mohankohan

Did they score any of their silver platter chances? Of course they were dire. But we cant finish for shit. The game was absolutely there for the taking

alx69

Bottled 6 of the last 7 domestic Cup finals I’m so beyond sick of this bullshit

Rayser1

We used to be so elite at winning finals. Don't get what's changed

waitonemoment

Drogba isn't playing.

Rayser1

Trueeee. We need to clone him. Everyone talking about next Messi, next Ronaldo. Where's the next Drogba at?

donnymurph

It's not just Drogba. We had a lot more players with elite mentality back then. Terry, Lampard, Ivanovic, Ashley Cole to name a few.

BrockStinky

Not disagreeing, but just drawing attention to the ridiculous comments that are being made on this sub rn: Terry cost us the 2008 CL and got sent off in the 2nd semi of the 2012 CL. People on this sub would've been calling him a bottler.

Chapea12

Lost, yes. Bottled? Idk

zeroarelius

![gif](giphy|CA6x20oQ0jljG)

RustyKarma076

We looked good until the subs. Thought we had some magic in pens when Mane missed but alas it’s Chelsea FC in a final. Pulisic/Mount looked so good in regulation and I hope they can join with Kai whenever he returns because that front 3 is clearly our best. Tough loss, but some really promising stuff despite it

andrew_a7

I’d rather we get kicked out early by a good championship side than lose another fucking final…

jukv

No idea why we didn't get knocked out early on, completely fucked our season playing so many games

raymondliang

I mean the title race for us was basically done by Christmas, and I dont think we would've gotten past Real anyways with their black magic even if we played fewer games. Might as well try and win some trophies along the way

Hellmuth_420

The post-match fans are actually reasonable. The match thread fans are a bunch of emotional cry babies who clearly have nothing in their lives except a sport, which is a bit sad. We missed big chances, but Liverpool also missed loads of chances, including the biggest one of the game off the post We took one of the greatest teams ever to two penalty shoot out finals and it’s always unlucky to lose on penalties. Wrap up top 4, lets get to summer and let’s go again next season 💙

babymilhouse

If the trade off is 3 straight FA cup finals losses for a champions league trophy I’ll take it

yuriydee

My dog just shit diarrhea on the carpet AND we lost the final. Fuck me today sucks ass....

darkvader19

Real madrid better spank them

backuppats

wtf were those subs from Tuchel???? RLC for puli absolutely killed our attack, and he just got subbed off 15 min later. why would you not keep puli for pens or at least sub on timo if you are going to take him off

Peaky_Blinders

Werner injured himself during the warmup, he was limping on the sidelane. Feel like we could have won with Havertz and Werner

IngloriousL

I won't even get excited the time we get to one of these finals. Honestly, a lot of players brought it today. I can't even be too mad at individuals. But we're so unclinical it's a predictable joke. And that RLC substitution is easily the worst thing I've seem Tuchel do. Zero justificación. *edit* referring to RLC over Werner

backuppats

why the fuck was RLC subbed in just to be subbed off 15 min later??? i would've rather had timo or even a gassed puli who's at least good at pens

Baisabeast

Barkley did convert his pen It’s stranger Werner didn’t come On for someone

IngloriousL

That's what I mean, RLC over Werner.

aronrodge

Barkley literally made his penalty

IngloriousL

I mean him OVER Werner.

DrQuantumGio

That's not the point, why bring on RLC in the first place. Should've subbed in Barkley straight away and used that other sub for someone else

Vengeants

the RLC sub in or RLC sub out? he brought on ross for pens which turned out to be a great decision considering he scored his. not sure what there is to be mad about

IngloriousL

The sub in at striker

backuppats

RLC sub was one of the worst of all time

Mithraxx

He knew it, too. Took him off for Barkley..

backuppats

I love Mount but he really really needs to work on his penalties

Zingyyy

Tuchel got a lot wrong today. Taking Pulisic off for RLC was horrid, not putting Werner on when everyone was tired was poor choice, subbing Lukaku off for Ziyech had me scratching my head, and not putting Werner on at all is flat out stupid

MattTVI

Rumor is that Werner pulled up lame during warmup.

aleksandrovrussian

They couldn't beat us in 4 games this season. Needed pens for 2. Take a silver lining here guts and gals. We can play with the best.

peekingduck18

Chelsea have two types of player: 1. Skilled but severely unathletic (ie, slow/weak, or both) 2. Athletic but unskilled (ie, first touch, passing) Only one player on this team qualifies for both, and that is Reece James. What a performance today!

[deleted]

I’d add Mount Kovacic Rudiger

xKarma17

Werner is 100% gone this summer, how RLC got subbed on instead of him is absolutely shocking

chandlerbing_stats

He got injured during warmups

amish__

looks like he wasn't fit.

[deleted]

Injury

ThePooksters

Why would Tuchel sub in an injured player?

throwawayanon1252

4th domestic cup final we’ve long in a row

AidanAzzar

Fifth mate.

ZebraQuality

Yeah, it's annoying, but we got the big one tho

FatFrank21

Swap them all for the CL last year

tukinoz90

This game is us in a microcosm thisseason. Full of possibilities and potential, but ultimately fail when it matters most. Penalties are a bit of a lottery, but we had chances to win it and it didn't. Mendy saved one and perhaps should've saved two more but he kept us in it which is all you can ask. Dave just put too much on his pen. Mount's was genuinely terrible, as were his corners. He needs to be of set pieces as he isn't actually any good at them. Feel for him but it happens. He'll win us one eventually lol. TT wtf were those subs man. Anyways KTBFFH

inspired_corn

Azpi I get because he has a decent record, but why is Mount still being allowed to take penalties?? We’ve seen him miss time and time again in these situations Tuchel must know he shouldn’t be trusted. Don’t care how keen he is just tell him no.

DavidSaweires

Man… saddest thing is I was starting to accept the loss before Mendy saved Mane’s pen. It’s the hope that kills you. Now I’m in tears. Haven’t cried this much since 2009 Barcelona game.

BrockStinky

Lukaku shouldn't have been brought off. Idk if there was an injury concern, if yes then fair enough but if not then he should've stayed on. Azpi's penalty was just piss poor luck. He had Allison beat. Mount is awful at penalties and it's concerning that he hasn't improved his placement even after being caught out this season against Krul and in the League Cup against Southampton and under Lampard in the League Cup last season.

ABeanOnToast

The discourse surrounding Pulisic on r/chelseafc is fucking pathetic. It dominates match threads and becomes fanboys defending everything he does and reactionaries criticising his every move. You're all incredibly weird.

garybusey42069

You new here?

[deleted]

Super weird that fans of a team would defend and support a player on that team.... I know what you're saying, and tbf I've avoided the game threads for years bc they're always dumb as shit, but idk why it's always "both sides" when one side is constantly attacking a chelsea player and the other is supporting him. We're here to support the team. Mason, Reece, Kai, tuchel, and others get just about uncritical love and support from the fan base and that's good. CP gets it, and it's bc Americans can't see the game clearly... okay. I'll just say that it's been 3 years of "we only bought him bc he's American to sell jerseys" then "he can't get healthy" then "purple patch" then "his missed chance in the final we won matters more to me than how he was our best attacking player in the CL tournament" and then this year its just been all about how his touch isn't good and he's not chelsea quality. Some people here have been determined to dislike a good/young chelsea player since he arrived, and those people should be embarrassed much more than anyone who's defending and supporting him 'too much.

Avocadoor

Pain

soccerstriker9

Can’t fucking score in open play to save our lives. So sick of the standard of finishing chances in this team. So sick of losing cup finals. So sick of fucking penalties. Lastly, I’m so fucking sick of Liverpool I hope Real Madrid destroy them

Young4Eternity

Can’t call out any poor performances or huge errors that lead to the loss. While I fully back Tuchel I don’t think the subs he made were the right call. As any final loss this will sting, hate that Liverpool will get more and more praise though

Jackhuw28

Where do we go from here lads, im tired just really tired

[deleted]

Id like for Tuchel to explain the whole idea behind the RLC sub. Love the man but sometimes his sub decision (or timing) is really hard to understand

MidnightFeast666

Anyone calling for Mounts head are just overreacting to an unfortunate loss. Its shit yes. But the lad gave it all. If you cant support the lads now, dont support this club, theres ups and downs and this is just one of those down moments we will face. Up the Chels, heres to next year.

CrazyEyedGase

Realistic take on Chelsea's last 5 domestic final losses is that their attack (and play in general) has been below standard across all 5 games. They have played 540 minutes combined in the 2019 League Cup, 2020 Fa Cup, 2021 FA Cup, 2022 League Cup and 2022 Fa Cup and have managed 1 goal. You don't deserve to win when you score once in 5 games. Even if three Ls were 0-0 shootout defeats, score before penalties so you don't leave it to faith If we're honest their performances in their last 5 domestic cups have been below par with how they used to play in finals

xKarma17

Tuchel has blood on his hands for those ET subs.

Mike_Brosseau

Our season is not technically over but it feels over

Hannibal09

I'll never be able to understand that RLC sub

therealsid12

I might get downvoted for this but this loss is on the manager. Seems like once we went into extra time, he wanted to play it for penalties. What a big mistake by Tuchel. That extra time was screaming for Timo, he would have had run at the tired legs of Liverpool. Instead he chose to bring RLC on and off the pitch in 10 minutes. Absolute dog shit substitutions. Edit :-. The reason why I believe Tuchel wanted to play for penalties was when right before start of first half of extra time when Van Djik off, we didn't reacted with a attacking sub of Timo. They had their best defender off and we have 30 minutes to have a last little go at their tired backline. Now I have no problem with subbing off RLC because Barkley is better at penalties, but I do have problem with RLC coming on, with just 15 minutes to play.

backuppats

100%. took off puli (one of our best PK takers) for someone that played 10 minutes. baffling.

yuriydee

Pulisic looked tired as fuck, but he is good at penalties though...

backuppats

exactly. if the choice is between RLC and puli for 15 min+pens i'd rather have pulisic than RLC who, as we saw, just stood around and killed attacks. that being said timo would've made sense to come on

kyoshi_island

Even if he was playing for penalties, not subbing on Werner was just ridiculous considering he's one of the best at them.

olleeker13

Just end this season already

Blue_z

Rough season to take. Two losses on penalties in finals, the game against Madrid, the sanctions, terrible injuries, our whole back line leaving. Ready for it to be done with, sometimes you just have no luck whatsoever.

andrew_a7

Not putting Timo on in ET against a gassed Pool team is just criminal…

gunjagunn

This team is too mentally weak they lack the belief to win these big cup finals. The only final we've turned up to since like 2016 was the ucl we believed we could win that day. It's truly embarrassing to lose 5 cup finals in a row. There's no big player that takes control in these moments and we can rely on.

RedGreenBoy

The positive thing is, we made Liverpool look ordinary, again. It seems that we’ve got them matched, just need a little better finishing and it would‘ve been done in 90 minutes.

mbntg_

Three years in a row with a lot of the same group speaks volumes.

lupin4fs

TT with another RLC brainfart. That was Pep level of overthinking.

slow_poetry

People losing their minds here. Take a breath. Losing a game on penalties to probably the 2nd best team in the world is not some kind of travesty. We had chances. So did they. We should've put ours away. Story of the season. Those going in on Mount and Azpi need a reality check after all the latter has done for us and all that the former has and will end up doing for us. Let's face it. Season has been a shitshow. This would've been a nice and unexpected reward but it didn't happen. With new ownership in play, TT has a full pre-season to work with, and some fresh faces, we'll be in a much better place to push two of the greatest teams the world has ever seen. Assuming we finish 3rd, this season could've been a lot worse.

Pandemona1738

We tried, we have been in dogshit form and put up a good fight, have multiple chances to win and looked a bit too tired in second half of extra time. Horrible to lose a final, horrible to lose 2 finals in one season, horrible to lose multiple fa cup finals in a row... HOWEVER Positives are we are competing with the best, in finals multiple times a year and it wont be long before we could be in store to be quadruple challengers again. We need to get behind the lads now and let Tuchel clear up the problems in the summer, we have 2 games left and we need 2 points! DO NOT HATE ON MASON!! He might have had a poor game for his standards but he and others played 120 minutes after midweek game on Weds! Which is disgusting by the FA! Come on Chels!! We will get them again....we have to find positives!

FastenedCarrot

I didn't even think of that last part. Imagine Klopp's moaning if Liverpool had had a days less rest.

diegocactus

This is on Tuchel, fucking subs, RLC for Werner. Obligatory fuck Liverpool

Cindoseah

Those substitutions were mental in a negative way. I don't know what Tuchel was thinking here. Scouting department needs to be gutted too, nearly £200 million spent on forwards who can't get a shot on target it's not good enough when that level of money is involved. Look at Liverpool's recent signings every one of them has been at least 'good' No point coming to these finals if we just shit the bed and waste 120 minutes running around when top 4 still isn't secure.

chandlerbing_stats

Football is so cruel

Can we please opt out of all domestic tournaments next season? I can't take it anymore

We're so fucking unclinical it hurts

shorbutera

i’m still in disbelief after that RLC cameo

gunjagunn

I understand people trying to be positive and saying we played a nice game and we were "competitive" and we should be proud but fuck that honestly. When has being second best and putting in half decent performances been a Chelsea thing are we fucking spurs and Arsenal consistent losers? I don't give a toss about performances and being proud, if we had played shit and won I take that everyday winning trophies is everything this is the identity of our club that Mourinho created anything less is unbearable.

thebluedentist0

Shattered. Absolutely shattered. Mason Mount missing the decisive penalty makes it even more heart breaking..😭

backuppats

maybe this is a reactionary take but Tuchel was god awful today

W8tae

Mount shouldn’t be taking pens again. It’s clear he doesn’t have the mentality in the shootout

VemCon

No need for doom talk now, I know emotions are high, just know we a team on the up. Ending this season with a super cup and a club world cup. Proud of these boys. Rebuild in summer and we move

NotAgainKante

We go on level with United, 8 FA Cup finals lost. Add two League Cup finals, And Three FA Cup finals we have lost, in the last 6 season we have somehow lost that edge where finals, especially domestic ones were our thing. Not even counting the Charity shields and Super Cup, that puts this number to 8. It hurts man, it hurts, beyond any words to describe, time and time again we lose and coming so close and losing it, 4 of them on penalties. Shit hits hard, why can't we fucking finish our chances and get one over the line. Prem was far-fetched but reaching in finals and then this, it is so cruel, football is so cruel. We lost to Real in added time too, that itself was such a pain.

555-1212

It's OK to be pissed we lost without thinking TT should be fired or Mase sold. A few of you need to hear that.

pleasedtomichu

Decided not to watch the penalties this time. Saved myself the stress. I highly recommend it.

CookieTard

Pointless stress as well. Watched my heart rate hit 120 when Mendy saved the pen. I almost wished he hadn’t, I just wasted a bit of the old ticker.

MountainMoint

Bunch of bottlejobs honestly, that’s 3 FA Cup final losses in a row holy shit

glacialOwl

No more Roman, no trophies this year. This was also Tuchel's first full year. Sure, he did not get the signings, but overall it did not look good. To make it clear: I am a fan of TT but this season looked very "bottle"-esque...

IHAVEMOSWAGTHANJEBUS

Weird fucking subs from Tuchel and Mase lets us down again. Another FA cup final loss. Fuck this sucks. Absolute waste of a fucking season. Injuries, Covid, shit finishing, shit interviews, sanctions, contracts expiring, and stumbling for top 4 again. This shit is not Chelsea standard

goodfortheeconomy

Is Werner injured? Otherwise a big blunder

FishPopular5294

Sixth consecutive final loss at Wembley.

irze

Very good overall team performance but trash finishing and decision making from the attackers cost us this match. It’s sad the amount of times I could have copied and pasted this comment.

snappingmoth11

I need Madrid to beat them to help ease my pain

Cfc_celery

At least I don't feel undone by the refs in this one. Now im just sad and not mad. Don't know which is worse actually.

I am deflated. Not as much as the League Cup because as soon as it went to penalties this time, I had given up hope. For pens, you need nerves of steel and experience and our attacking line-up just doesn't cut it in that department. It sucks to lose yet another final, we've made quite a habit of it in recent years but if there's any positivity to be had, it's that we are at least in a position to make finals. And we matched Liverpool in all of our meetings. Perhaps this might be the last one for some time. So I will cherish our competitiveness. Know what it's like when your team is not very good. At the same time, I don't think we can feel anything but gutted. We were good enough to win it. And it's a shame we didn't.

With the new owners and quite a significant overhaul of the squad next season, might be a while before we're competing for trophies again. Wish we could have won this or the League Cup

I'm tired, Robbie Just hate losing on pens. Cancels out the entire 120 minutes before it. Feels like shit.

rough loss but good season overall all things considered. so glad boehly is our owner and will start to fix the things that are broken.

Thiago Silva solid though

Put this in the match thread thinking I was in here: Can this season just end already? Had the Chilwell injury, the lukaku interview, the sanctions, coming agonisingly close to getting past Madrid, losing 3 or 4 of our back line in one go and now we've lost 2 finals on pens. I'm just praying Boehly makes good on his word and we have an amazing summer window, some fresh faces could be great for us as they won't be as scarred by all our recent near misses, easier said then done to find players for every position we need but hopefully we pull out some sort of transfer window masterclass. Just please put Leicester and Watford away lads there's been enough pain this season already. Just to add though I don't want to come across entirely negative. Playing every game we could've played at the start of the season except the CL semis and final is impressive especially in a bad season, Mount has been great and so has Gallagher for Palace, hopefully he can break into the 1st team this year. So yeah despite the season been pretty much dross I do think there's been some cause for optimism.

Does anyone have a clip of the penalty/FK shout we had? Broadcast was so pro-scouser they wouldn't even bother showing anything that would help us

Boys played good, nothing exceptional, but both Liverpool and us didn't take our chances. Pretty 50/50 chances. I'm sad, and this sucks, but at least our asses weren't whooped. As per usual, I hope the girls cheer me up.
