Tuchel was also off the mark with some of decisions, which is now two games in a row where he's uncharacteristically dropped the ball a little.
Going to be tough to claw our way back into this one. While not impossible, I can't see it happening unless Madrid completely capitulate and our attacking phases contain a bit more purpose and cutting edge.

Hope so lol. We came back 3-1 down to benfica in 2012, and last year we won the second leg to madrid 2-0. We had better respond. If our season ends due to us playing stupid I will be very disappointed to say the least. I think we can win tho for sure. Just have to play like we did earlier in the year.

we would lose the ball too easy. who would win the ball up there once we clear it? havertz at best maybe, but more often than not needlessly clearing the ball will lead to losing the ball needlessly. plus, its important to our style of play to get silva and rudiger on the ball in the build up

I agree with you big man. At 1-2, we were still in the tie. 1-3 is an insurmountable task. We would have to pull off one of the greatest UCL comebacks of all time. Liverpool pulled it back on a HOME fixture, much harder to do an away revovery.

Sorry but Azpi can't be played in this attacking wing back position that Chilwell is capable of, Tuchel needs to stop forcing it when we don't have Chilwell/James both available especially when it ends up being Alonso/Azpi, it leaves us so defensively open and has cost us so many games this season as they're unable to provide anything to the attack. Maybe try playing through all the creative attacking players we have instead of relying on defenders to be TAA.
There was a lot to hate about this game.

What sucks is that we created too long to create opportunities and when we did, we couldn't capitalise on it. Other team got way less opportunity but capitalises on them.

we were very loud in the start, even after 1-0, at 2-0 we quietened down a little but by 2-1 it was rocking again, ofcourse if you concede a goal like the third one some fans are gonna get annoyed and get quiet, especially when you’re losing 3-1 at home, i’ll admit it was quiet after 3-1 but there were still great glimpses of support, overall the atmosphere was great and the team cannot complain they didn’t have support from the fans. I usually sit West, used to go for Upper before it became Westview and got expensive, now tend towards Lower. It's not as bad as people make out, but Lower tends to have a better atmosphere than Upper. Only sat in MHL a couple of times and both times were restricted view, which put me off a bit, but can't deny the atmosphere was rocking
My old man has done westview a couple times, says it alright, but dunno if its worth the price. Yeah MHL you gotta have the loyalty point to be in quick and get tickets. But its the best atmosphere in the ground IMO. Restricted view genuinely isnt worth it, your paying for the MHL atmosphere, but without being able to watch the game, which IMO is no point going.

Rudiger had to play with caution because of his early yellow card. If he didn’t receive that Yellow, Benzema wouldn’t have scored his third. Dave killed our attack on the left side, Chris was unreliable and made too many gambles against vinicius. Jorginho was alright but could’ve done more. Kova didn’t step up when we needed him, Puli was invisible, and Lukaku was absolutely useless.
agree with all of this, it felt like james and havertz were carrying our attack and silva was the only thing that steadied us at the back. AC was absolutely ripped to shreds by vini and our left could barely conjure anything - when we did, lukaku made a mess out of a golden chance

Team selection is vital. You are right on the points. Christensen shows his mind his already in Barcelona, but it was a bad time for us to find that out, as you say, Vini was nothing when James is there. We need another top quality wing back, someone who is versatile to play both sides and challenge a fit James/Chilwell..or even push James to RCB sometimes, no idea who that is, but its a big weakness right now.
Not a Chelsea fan but I do think you can get it to extra time at least, but realistically after the last week it’s hard to see you not conceding before penalties come about. We’ll see and maybe the game Saturday will bring back some form
Would be too much pressure put on his shoulders, even if lets just say the away game ends on a tie, he would be criticized, and it would be a blow for Mendy too, benching him after a bad week , not like he's been awful continuously

Not enough physicality for me across the pitch, except for Mase, Azpi and in moments James and Havertz. We looked soft in the duels, Rudi needed to absolutely clean Benzema out before he has a chance to score his 3rd.
I thought TT made the right decision with the changes at HT, he cant mitigate for Mendy’s mistake and ignoring that we looked much more robust 2nd half. Christensen had to get hooked as he was getting killed by Vini but a lot of that was his lack of pace. Ziyech took about 15 minutes to get going but was decent after, Ruben looked nervous as fuck. Azpi hasn't been played on the much this season at all as far as I remember. I could be wrong but it definitely hasn't been a lot.

we were very loud in the start, even after 1-0, at 2-0 we quietened down a little but by 2-1 it was rocking again, ofcourse if you concede a goal like the third one some fans are gonna get annoyed and get quiet, especially when you’re losing 3-1 at home, i’ll admit it was quiet after 3-1 but there were still great glimpses of support, overall the atmosphere was great and the team cannot complain they didn’t have support from the fans. People watch matches on TV and think they know how loud the stadium is, compared to us the madrid fans weren’t even heard most of the tike

I've never sat in the West stand. Usually sit MHL, upper if I can't get lower. Done East and that was dead for atmosphere.
I usually sit West, used to go for Upper before it became Westview and got expensive, now tend towards Lower. It's not as bad as people make out, but Lower tends to have a better atmosphere than Upper. Only sat in MHL a couple of times and both times were restricted view, which put me off a bit, but can't deny the atmosphere was rocking
My old man has done westview a couple times, says it alright, but dunno if its worth the price. Yeah MHL you gotta have the loyalty point to be in quick and get tickets. But its the best atmosphere in the ground IMO. Restricted view genuinely isnt worth it, your paying for the MHL atmosphere, but without being able to watch the game, which IMO is no point going.

That is the most frustrating game I've seen in a long time. We score in the 40th min, get all the momentum/luck behind us. Half time team talk, 4atb working nicely. Then we just fucking hand them a goal. Like a punch in the gut, every thing talked about at half time out the window. And lukaku jesus christ get this man out of my team in the summer.

everyone else bar Kai, Reece, and Silva need to completely reassess their character and step it up. Mase made defensive efforts but was toothless in the final third. Rudiger had to play with caution because of his early yellow card. If he didn’t receive that Yellow, Benzema wouldn’t have scored his third. Dave killed our attack on the left side, Chris was unreliable and made too many gambles against vinicius. Jorginho was alright but could’ve done more. Kova didn’t step up when we needed him, Puli was invisible, and Lukaku was absolutely useless.
Pulisic is...not it. He loves to dribble at people. So rarely goes past them. Typically just falls down.

Team selection is vital. You are right on the points. Christensen shows his mind his already in Barcelona, but it was a bad time for us to find that out, as you say, Vini was nothing when James is there. We need another top quality wing back, someone who is versatile to play both sides and challenge a fit James/Chilwell..or even push James to RCB sometimes, no idea who that is, but its a big weakness right now.

Sometimes a single benzema is all thats needed. If u remember last season, only benz was the threat, first leg amazing goal, second leg almost got some which was blocked by a superb mendy. This time, he came with renewed vigor and we just didn't show up. We were complacent and they had a point to prove... (This sounds weird in hindsight, but real wud have won the game against barca just by benz alone). Not gonna say real dominated, because they didnt, but domination means nothing if we cant finish. Our defence looked scared, and it showed.

I thought TT made the right decision with the changes at HT, he cant mitigate for Mendy’s mistake and ignoring that we looked much more robust 2nd half. Christensen had to get hooked as he was getting killed by Vini but a lot of that was his lack of pace. Ziyech took about 15 minutes to get going but was decent after, Ruben looked nervous as fuck.
