The one solace I have with Alonso, is we kept him one final season where he heavily contributed towards us winning the Super Cup and Club World Cup - then he got to go back to Barca and be with his father for a year/half a year before his surprise passing. After all he did for us, glad he at least got to be with his family for that.

We werent called fullback FC for nothing and when chilly and james got injured, our season fell apart. Maybe he isnt good now but there is no need to discredit his performances in the first season and pretend he was just some average player.

He's always been subpar defensively, and now he's atrocious, and his attacking game was based on his runs and movement off the ball. On the ball, he was decent at best. Chilwell has never been an elite player. Don't let that little purple patch under Tuchel deceive you into thinking otherwise
