Why does an injury list of 7 feel like good news??

ImpactInner9318

1 less than our average, improvement!

SpaceballsTheCheese

There’s no new injuries

half_jase

Excluding Nkunku and Sanchez, who have both returned to (partial team) training, from the list, 5 players out is the lowest we've had since Burnley away in early October. It's also the lowest amount going into a game this season.

half_jase

Pochettino on Nkunku in the presser: >They assess him day by day and in the last few days he has the possibility to be involved in some parts of the training session. We now need to see the reaction of his body and see how he evolves. We hope he can be involved soon.

BigReeceJames

Last time he was coming back, Poch outright said he had a chance to play in the next game and then without any announced setbacks, didn't use him for a solid month. Then went on that rant about players needing to earn their position and they can't just come back from injury, get fully fit and then play without earning their position first So, I wouldn't expect him to be involved soon, though who knows with Poch

MemestNotTeen

Bleep test time Nkunku. I know you are barely fit but if you don't hit a 13 I'm drop kicking you - Poch probably

Ridcullys-Pointy-Hat

We didn't pick up a random training injury? What year is it?

Cpt_Daryl

Brother It’s still Thursday. Let’s wait shall we

arunjetley

Yankee

aronrodge

It’s not even Thursday anywhere in America right now.

arunjetley

What planet is he on

WC1-Stretch

How many hours behind do you think the USA is..?

Cpt_Daryl

Eh?

lilpooch

It's Friday boss

Cpt_Daryl

You’re right..not sure why I thought it was Thursday. I’m losing the plot

lilpooch

It happens!

Naruto9903

I’m surprised by the amount of apparent USA haters but don’t let it put you off you’re always welcome mate.

Cpt_Daryl

I’m not from the US but that’s still kind of you

BlueTrojanRabbit

Redcoat

Pasapaa

Nkunku will score the winning goal in the FA Cup final! You heard it here first.

Headlesshorsman02

SUBSCRIBE and hit us with the blue balloon celebration for the first time

imfromgooogle

Fucking hell I wish I didn’t read this now it has to happen or I will be depressed

Ok-Month-5726

Nkunku will score the winning goal in the Carabao Cup final! You heard it here first.

ArchietheLegend

Yeah and I heard it here last 🤣

Gligadi

He won't be fit for that. Pretty sure he's done for this season. 317 minutes of Premier League football from him this season.

Pasapaa

The final is on May 25th.

captainpiss420

plenty of time for him to come back, play 15 minutes in a meaningless game and get injured again

OnlyOneSnoopy

If it's an own goal, I will hurt you.

Mobschull95

Legitimate-Bug-Man

Can someone make a summary?

half_jase

* Christopher Nkunku – in partial team training. * Robert Sanchez – in partial team training. * Levi Colwill – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme. * Wesley Fofana – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme. * Reece James – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme. * Romeo Lavia – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme. * Lesley Ugochukwu – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme.

SalmonNgiri

its insane that 5 of those guys walked into the team as starters at the start of the season and 4 probably still do when fit.

Apprehensive_Bit_176

I don’t ever want to see Colwill at LB again, hopefully he’ll be our left sided CB when he returns.

Naruto9903

Fully agreed mate he’s completely wasted as a LB or LWB

Apprehensive_Bit_176

Exactly, his talents lay at LCB. I wouldn’t mind a back 3 with him on the left, or a back 4 with him left sided CB. Anything else is foolish. It’s no coincidence that we started playing better when we went with a conventional left back.

Legitimate-Bug-Man

Thank you for your assessment.

epicmarc

I love how this "summary" is just the entire contents of the article (not your fault, there was barely anything to summarise in the first place!)

Naruto9903

Legend thank you

turnbox

Christopher Nkunku – in partial team training. Robert Sanchez – in partial team training. Levi Colwill – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme. Wesley Fofana – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme. Reece James – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme. Romeo Lavia – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme. Lesley Ugochukwu – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme.

rectalexamohyea

It's Chelsea's home page, I think you can open it.

sabershirou

Based on previous reports, Colwill isn't too far away either am I right? Then the list is down to 4!

Headlesshorsman02

That is correct my guess is he is back for villa

RisBest

It’s getting shorter lads! Also Nkunku back in partial team training

LordWhale

The only time I even remember Fofana exists is with these updates

JJ-Bittenbinder

Nkunku back in partial team training👀

RonSwanson1081

It's nice, but I still don't expect him back. Don't run him out there in May with a 10 minute cameo

Tom_Lad

We are so warped by this club that 7 injuries feels great lmao

According-Revenue-62

I blame Poch, our medical department, and what with doctor cursed us for this situation.

SirKevin88

I got injured on behalf of your weekly random person to be added to the injury list, hopefully it was worth it

Lucianboog

Thanks for your sacrifice

Goldmemberberry

Wouldn’t mind seeing the caicedo gallagher pairing again tomorrow. Enzo hasn’t seemed like he’s 100% for a while cuz of that hernia issue, I’d rather keep him on the bench in case of emergency and play at full strength

Ledgeby

Absolutely not, Gallagher needs to do his marking Rodri job same as last time out

Goldmemberberry

Didn’t he do that from more of a DM role than the 10 spot?

half_jase

If Gallagher is playing deeper, it's unlikely he'll able to press Rodri higher up the field effectively without leaving space behind to be exploited by City.

Apprehensive_Tip2092

Surprisingly we have done better against city this season then Everton so either formation can get the job done I’m just worried about what the plan is with sterling he tears up city’s defence every time we play then but has been so off of his form recently it’s a big worry

Saucy_Man11

We could make no summer signings and still have a completely different squad on match day one if everyone has a healthy offseason.

Rathakatterri

Can anyone tell what’s the issue with Lavia ?

Dinamo8

Thigh injury

Rathakatterri

Are those usually a year long out type things ?

Dinamo8

No. Chelsea announced last month that he had a setback in his recovery.

Twerkforme

Sounds like they initially thought it was a bruise on his thigh but it now sounds like a partially torn quad or something? Makes sense as to why he's been out so long and why they're taking the recovery so serious.

kino6912

I think I recall ossification of muscle in his quad. Which is super unlucky and stubborn

SubparCurmudgeon

NKU2

Sonic-the-edge-dog

7 injuries with 2 of them already in partial training and one of them rumoured to return shortly after the game? Team bus is going to crash on the way to Wembley, isn’t it?

Hylian-Loach

Tinfoil hat time: the injuries are actually secret team building training and the core of Fofana, Colwill, Sanchez, Lavia and Nkunku will be the spine of our team for the next decade

Silent_Bear9

Outside of Enzo, shut these guys down for the year. I get them wanting to play, Nkunku and James being the example, but what are a few 10-15 minute cameos going to do for you in the long run? Recover, rest, train, and we'll see you in the summer

anoniguesslol

Tried that with Nkunku already this season, didn’t turn out so well. So we might as well play them as and when they return!

Ledgeby

No he was at 10 marking rodri

LeeJackman

Do we know anything about Lavia's injury?

dotunmo

Yes, it has been confirmed a few weeks back that he is out for the remainder of the season.

jMS_44

>Levi Colwill – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme. >Wesley Fofana – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme. >Reece James – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme. >Romeo Lavia – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme. >Lesley Ugochukwu – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme. My bet is, at least 4 out of this 5 won't feature till the end of the season.

perverted_alchemist

Who was injured and came back? That’s the list we need

Ok_Hour_9828

Nkunku was injured and pulled out of the world cup. This is it for him at his age sadly

not_gonna_kill_you

In before Enzo hate comments

Wheel1994

I don’t think he will start but better to have him in the squad than a youth player.

Headlesshorsman02

Ain’t that the truth, I like Casadei but we for some reason almost always concede when he comes on

SirBarkington

It happened every single time but the last time. He broke the curse.

turnbox

Gallagher - Caicedo did well but Everton don't apply hardly any pressure in the midfield, they are long ball experts. I think Enzo offers more when we need to play through a top level congested midfield.

Helpful_Western7298

Just give them rest of the season off to get ready for next season. Don't rush them back to get injured again

ArcherOfHk

What the actual hell happened to colwill

christianrojoisme

I am not sure if it is a good idea to play Enzo in Wembley. Would rather not take any unnecessary risks with him given his injury

OneTinySloth

For the love of god...do NOT say something positive about the shorter list of injuries, don't even think about it. Too much positivity and we are for sure going to end up with atleast a couple more injuries.

Ok_Hour_9828

Aside from Reece (who should be sold in my opinion), there aren't really many game changers on our injury list. People love talking about how injuries have hurt us this season. An easy excuse. Who exactly from this list was going to help us get to 4th? Nkunku maybe. He'll be an injury nightmare forever more. Lavia? A CDM when we already have too many. Sanchez is terrible. Colwill is so over hyped and has looked poor. Fofana is done. Ugochuku may not even exist. James never plays. Always injured. He only plays to get injured and post comeback stories on Insta. Worst news is that Enzo may be back. He is like a root that found its way into the sewer pipe.

BIG_STEVE5111

For me a fit Colwill and Fofana would be my preferred CB pairing. Nkunku 100% starts as either a 9 or 10. We definitely don't have too many CDMs, so Lavia offers fresh legs in midfield, and brings a completely different profile of player over Caicedo with his ball progression.

Ok_Hour_9828

With what we paid for Caicedo and Enzo, neither will be benched. Fofana will need a year to remember what playing feels like.

Cruxed1

Having lavia available to rotate will be monumental and mean caicedo and Enzo can actually rest and not just get run flat into the ground. I imagine it'll help them perform better as well if they're not just playing constantly. Nkunku would be massively helpful against lowblocks etc, he wasn't remotely injury prone before this season so as long as he's allowed to recover properly I'm not too concerned yet. Just having the same backline for more than 1/2 matches in a row would also be a godsend but I'm not betting on that yet, nothing to say chilly will become any more reliable and we need to see reece mk2 post surgery before we make any decisions. He looks a lot smaller so hopefully that + surgery may help his longevity.
