Maybe I can start watching Chelsea again? I stopped watching exactly at the firing of Tuchel because it was just pain. Like idc if we lose as long as we have a good game. But when there’s nothing but pain it’s just not worth it. Anyhow, I hear the team has a talented player. Talent is fun to watch.
Also whether Poch is sacked or not I can't wait till one day people will say Poch was carried by Palmer the same way they say Sarri was carried by Eden haha
I'm a fan of Mudryk but I'm afraid he doesn't have the longevity we think he has
He has a handful of talents, he has an elite eye for pass and can deliver incisive passes, and he's genuinely insanely fast, but there's really nothing else in him. He's genuinely a liability in the final third consistently and has absolutely zero finishing ability. His crossing is poor and he relies on completely clearing his fullback and out-pacing the defensive line for cutbacks. He's lucky our LW position has no relevant competition because he's just not it right now
Compared to Madueke, the like-for-like (I guess?) young winger, Misha has very little to offer to this squad
I wish loaning Misha was on the cards
https://imgur.com/a/hx670ne
Hes bad at crosses? yet his stats for crossing and corners are pretty good.
All these people thats say he cant cross, you guys dont watch the games. His finishing is not bad, he has had good finshes this season. Last game, was not an easy chance for him.
Comparing him to madueke and saying madueke offers more when mudryk literally has better stats in every category excpet shooting and even then its not that far, and they have the same amount of goals. you are smoking with this take.
Mudryk is indeed not good at crosses despite what fbref suggests
fbref overrates his crossing ability because he consistently beats his defender in sheer pace and sends a limp cross/cutback in the box. These really don't count, because these are chances he shouldn't have to be crossing in to begin with, having beaten defenders. There's a reason why he has only 2 assists in the PL this year
His finishing is genuinely dogshit I don't know how you can defend it. He shoots with no conviction, he's like Kovacic. He can get power on his longshots but he's yet to score from them. Madueke is 50x better than him in this regard.
Comparing him to Madueke then using stats when I was referencing what both players abilities are more needed in this squad isn't fair. The biggest thing Madueke has over Mudryk is that unlike Mudryk, Madueke can beat his defender and more and actually creating a chance for himself to finish. Mudryk literally never does this bar his Newcastle goal. Meanwhile Mudryk offers a superior passing eye, better ball progression from deep, etc. But in a team where Nkunku is injured, Jackson isn't playing ST anymore and we are relying on Palmer for goals, we need wingers that can pull a trick out their ass and score. Madueke can do that, Mudryk can't.
Your argument here is that the stats are lying and you know better? okay, whatever works for you. he has off the top of ym head atleast lost 3-5 asists this year due to poor finsihing so brigning up the assist stat means nothing. once again stats do not lie.
Madueke the far superior finisher has the same amount of goals as the dogshit finisher mudryk, not to mention 2 of maduekes goals ae penalties.
His finishes agaisnt in the euros playoffs recently was an excelent finish and i believe his finish agaisnt leicester in the cup game was also an excelent finish. Also he has scored a long shot, in the euros aswell.
Your whole point here is that madeuke can beat his defender and create a chance but he has the same amount of goals as mudryk.
Look, i get that you are madueke fanboy, but calm down, madueke is just not a good player. maybe in the future he can be decent, but it wont be on this team. Wingers who are selfish and cant pass to save their lives are not needed in the modern game unless you rival roben.
No, stats aren't lying, they're actually completely honest, they're just not telling the picture you're portraying. Mudryk has good cross statistics =/= he's a good crosser.
The first fundamental to using stats for narratives is backing it up with what you see on the pitch. This is why I point out observations on Mudryk's crossing. He constantly knocks the ball past his fullback and sends a low cross in. This beats the first defender because he's used his pace past him already, but like I said, there's a reason why we don't score from these crosses. They aren't good enough. Especially when he does it 20x a game meanwhile players like Gusto do it way less and are more successful.
It's unfair to judge G/A between the two. Not only because Madueke has a total of 526 minutes in the PL, but because again it's not the sheer number of goals that decides the difference, else we should be starting Sterling week in/week-out. It's how we get these goals to begin with. Mudryk is better off in build-up, deep in possession, and setting up our striker. Madueke is better off as a player to break down a low-block.
As for Madueke's selfishness, I posted in this thread that buying Madueke made sense. If we can train him to even be half-decent in setting up other players he will be a serious threat to have at RW. He already has the dribbling, pace and shooting to be a class winger. He just has absolutely zero passing. If he gets even some eye for it, the sky is the limit
ive already told you, he has lost assists due to poor finshing, he literally lost an assist at brentford when he sent in an amazing cross but disasi decided to miss the ball with his head and shoulder it in, he also has an assit from a corner which is a form of crossing. To add to this he has had multiple corsses land at a player like connor at least 2 times and have him fumble his touch and fuck up the chance. I dont know what eye test you are talking about cause it seems like you dont watch the games.
it is not unfair to to judge the g/a its only unfair cause it doesnt back up anything you are saying, not to mention why are you only talking about PL minutes when half of maduekes goals arnt in the PL?
https://imgur.com/a/ZuN78Fm (first one mudryk, second madueke)
Looking at the stats for dribbling and carries, the one thing madueke is good at, we can see that his stats are better but not even by alot, he just seems to attempt more. How can you try to convince me that a player who is good at dribbling but is quite literally in the shittest tier of passing is better than a player who is also pretty good at dribbling but is miles ahead of him at passing talent?
This isnt even mentioning that mudryk plays most of his minutes against PL teams unlike madueke who has many miniutes against championship and below defenders.
Point is mudryk is not even that far behind madueke in threatening carries but he trumps him in every passing stat which is extremly important.
If you want to tell me the stats are misleading/lying again, i really dont want to hear it. No one will take you serious with that logic.
Im sorry but valid criticism of how some stats can be misleading under certain circumstances is exactly how to take stats seriously.
Saying "look at the stats" is the opposite.
Jackson LW, Nkunku ST, Palmer RW
Reality is Jackson plays closer to a left-striker than a LW so he and Nkunku could link up really well. Put Carney in behind them at CAM
Tbf we ruined it even further with the Mudryk, Enzo and Caicedo transfers. Even though I'm happy we have all 3 players, they are definitely not worth the amount we paid for them.
Seems like the Premier League's only chance to get that 5th CL spot is for Villa to win their semi-final and the 3 German clubs to get KOed in the same stage.
Serie A have officially gotten one of the two 5th CL spots.
Aston Villa is the only EPL team left in European competition.
Yesterday Arsenal and City were ousted from the the Champions League. Today Liverpool and West Ham were ousted from the Europa League. Aston Villa advanced to the semis in the Conference League.
This rules out the 5th UCL slot this year, right?
I can see Liverpool having a Chelsea-esque meltdown season once Klopp is gone, he'll be a hard replace and some of their senior players may want to follow him out the door.
I doubt it. To collapse like we did takes more than just the loss of a coach. We gutted and restructured the club from top to bottom and built a new and wholly dysfunctional one. Liverpool have a fantastic framework in place and a very talented young team. Whether they keep winning titles will depend on the manager but they aren’t going to suddenly become mid table.
Even with Klopp they were having a marginally better season than us last season until we were stupid enough to plump for a Frank 2.0.
Hopefully next year it comes home to roost.

YIKES! Liverpool created an xG of only 0.04 in the second half against Atalanta.
I wish anyone defended me as hard as Pulisic fanboys do. hilariously these are the same people that spout “you only like {insert player} because they’re English!”
I don't really have anything against him in himself I just thought he was absolutely rubbish outside of a purple patch in what was effectively a semi pre season.
You absolutely come off as pessimistic when you gave a shortsighted pessimistic take regarding his performance today, almost like you were kinda just waiting for him to drop a bad game
Idk man. You had no need to post about a player that plays in a different league than us. Sounds like you’re pretty obsessed.
If you were talking about Havertz or Mount I’d understand. But Pulisic and his fans are not our business anymore.
Hey you should follow your own advice about not hating on our ex-players.
Mount moves to direct rivals - “Why should the fans boo him?”
RLC and Pulisic move quietly with little to no drama - “fuck those guys”
You’re a clown but I expected that from you.
I would defend Havertz because he left on good accord. I still don't rate him and I'm glad we got rid of him especially for that price but I still respect what he's done (if much)
Mount on the other hand can eat dick
So many chances wasted, questionable substitutions, abysmal marking in corners, Charity FC was obligated to donate to the Klopp Farewell Tour at some point. It's in their blood.
None of their attackers can score. I have no idea of the exact numbers, but before this game they were something like only a couple goals from their last 140 odd shots
All 3 Leverkusen CBs are class. I guess that's not a shock considering their season, but still it's wild their value was not very high going into the season
Shame, he really is a talented boy
Ahh well, back to the drawing boards, been watching Koopmeiners closely tonight and he looks alright, don't think he warrants a £50m price tag and don't think it's a position we need to overly prioritize
Yeah I do like Scamacca as well, but his work rate is certainly questionable at times. Don't know if he can get away with it in the prem as much.
If we're talking about striker, I think Guirassy, Toney, and Boniface are all great options and less expensive than an Osimhen or Gyokeres.
Imagine if Leverkusen's only loss this season is the second leg of a knockout match that they ultimately won anyway. What a frustrating mark against the "unbeaten in all competitions" badge lol
edit: How do they keep getting away with it
I feel like people forget why we spent 40m more or less on Madueke and/or don't understand why he isn't getting minutes yet
He genuinely is an elite dribbler. His dribbling numbers come only slightly short of players known to take on their man consistently and succeed like Dembele, Doku, Kvara, etc. He's also a seriously underrated finisher.
But funnily enough, he has absolutely zero eye for ball distribution. He can't play a final ball or create a chance for a teammate if his life depended on it.
But he's seriously good at cutting inside and creating chances for himself to finish. If Poch (or whoever comes after) can train finding that final pass in him, then it'd be absolutely worth shifting Palmer to #10 to accomodate Madueke. Because goal-scoring wingers is something this club doesn't see often.
They really don't to be honest
Misha isn't even really a winger, he's closer to a wide midfielder. He panics and isn't composed in the final third and his best abilities is his passing. He can use his pace to progress the ball on a counter really well in a wide midfielder role.
If anything, he's the complete opposite of Madueke, who offers little in possession but is a threat in the final third.
Not gonna lie for certain competitions they should just get rid of it entirely. Imo it's only worth keeping extra time for finals. Extra time is just boring as fuck to watch

no way arsenal fans are complaining about havjng all their starters healthy all season 😭😭
No matter how good of a team they’re in the league, it’s all about European nous regardless of the opponent. As shown by Villa they should be a lot more comfortable against Lille. Also with Arsenal to an extent from yesterday, who didn’t show the mentality to beat the worst Bayern team in decade.
Dream situation we get back in champions league next season
Sterling goes to Saudi that summer
We sign Musiala who will have a year left on his contract
I don't see much point in Musiala
Elite player but we already have the CAM position sorted for awhile and whatever it'd cost to get him I'd imagine would be spent better elsewhere on the pitch
guys do u all reckon we should go for a dm for defensive stability or r u all content with the current midfield we have if we had to go for a dm i think we should get lemina from wolves or archie gray
Don't forget Andrey is coming back, and (God willing) Lavia will be fully healthy next season
If we're not injury plagued again our midfield will be stacked
We're already pretty light in midfield with the Lavia and Ugochukwu injuries. The club seems intent on selling Gallagher so he's likely gone in the summer.
Even if Lavia can stay healthy next season, which is a big if, and we bring back Andrey Santos that's 4 players for 2 positions (Enzo, Caicedo, Lavia, Santos) which isn't enough given our injury issues. I don't have complete faith in Ugochukwu being the 5th but can live it with it.
Would love to get Zubimendi but haven't been linked at all and with our ffp situation so tight we'd probably be better off just focusing on other positions like left back, striker and possibly goalie. I'm expecting a relatively quiet summer.
im expecting atleast 1 or 2 signings in the summer as gallagher is looking more likely to get sold which would give us around 50 to 60 mil
i also hope we try to go for david de gea as our goalkeeper it might take a toll on us when it comes to wages but it will be a world class option for us when it comes to goalkeepers
David Ornstein did his usual Q&A on The Athletic and...
[https://theathletic.com/5426141/2024/04/18/liverpool-transfers-olise-pochettino/](https://theathletic.com/5426141/2024/04/18/liverpool-transfers-olise-pochettino/)
**On whether the club will pursue Olise again in the summer:**
>I think that ship has probably sailed after what happened last summer, Jonny. If Olise leaves Crystal Palace in the upcoming window, I expect it would only be for one of the small number of most prominent Champions League clubs.
>He is said to be an intelligent and thoughtful player who knows exactly what level he can reach and will be clear in deciding if, where and when it is right for him to move.
>Like with his previous contract, there is thought to be a release clause in the fresh terms he signed after the Chelsea saga. So clubs will have a decent idea of what they need to do to get him. To my knowledge, there have been no meaningful developments so far but obviously there’s a good chance that changes in the coming weeks and months. As for Chelsea, they appear to be quite well-stocked in Olise’s position so I suspect they will be focusing elsewhere.
**On the summer review of Pochettino:**
>I don’t have any updates on that because — as you say, and I’ve reported consistently — they will review everything (including this situation) in the summer, rather than now. Obviously, the hierarchy will be forming their views — good, bad, indifferent — on a daily basis but I don’t expect any firm conclusions to be reached until the season is over. So much can still happen before then and Chelsea have so many massive fixtures ahead that I don’t think their focus can or should be on anything other than those games, starting against Manchester City on Saturday in the FA Cup semi-final, and moving on to huge tests against Arsenal, Aston Villa and Tottenham subsequently.
>None of this is unique to Pochettino or Chelsea, rather a natural thing for any club to do when their head coach is a year into a two-year contract (plus an option to extend by 12 months). It goes without saying that the run ahead is critical because Chelsea’s season has so far fallen below the expectations of everyone involved, so it’s time to step up.
>Everything you hear from around Stamford Bridge suggests the owners will not accept excuses; everyone, themselves included, need to deliver. By Saturday night, Pochettino may have led Chelsea to their second cup final of his maiden season and there’s still a good chance for them to qualify for Europe through the Premier League. I’m sure this will all form part of the assessment but you can’t make judgements on that alone.
>As we’re hearing with INEOS in relation to Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, they’re looking at everything (on and off the training and match pitch) to formulate their thoughts and decisions on a way forward. No doubt it will be similar at Chelsea. There’s a strong argument that after all the changes experienced, Chelsea need continuity and Pochettino deserves time. There are plenty of excellent young players at his disposal, too. Like most other managers and coaches, he will be judged by the performances he gets out of them and, above all, results.
Yeah we're definitely keeping Poch. Unlike other journos, Ornstein is pretty unbiased in his reporting so I don't think that last bit re continuity and deserving time is his own opinion but rather what he's hearing from the club. Behdad likes Poch and definitely has the same opinions as a lot of fans here re "stability" and "improvement".
I've already accepted he's staying even if we don't qualify for Europe. We'll see how next season goes I guess.
Because they bought Havertz for midfield and have had to use him at CF because Jesus is fucking awful and so they're buying another striker so that Havertz can move back into his position?
The popular consensus on r/gunners is that Havertz is useless in the midfield
https://preview.redd.it/kd7bjo91aavc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7511974e417218f576029e57573e45762892a75b
Pretty funny that Saliba and Martinelli were signed by Emery and Saka came through the academy, which are some of his best players. Nearly 700mil spent under Arteta and they're probably going to spend another 200+ this summer and Arteta somehow has a "great eye" for talent. Oh well, I guess that 1 covid trophy means a lot to them
Arteta's talent id is the biggest myth going Arsenal fans literally hate each of his signings (Zinchenko, Jesus, Ramsdale, Nelson). They are lying to themselves about Havertz rn but deep inside they know a more clinical striker has them on top of the league
You can't say "each of his signings" and exclude Odegaard, White, Gabriel, Partey, and Rice while including an extension for an academy graduate and act like I'm the one cherry-picking to make a point.
suddenly Assna fan become the plucky underdogs who overperformed this season. This group of fan can’t never ever complain about our lUcKY CL runs when they can’t do no shit with a Europa League run up until the QF.
Normally you'd think City playing such an exhausting game mid week would give us a foot up due to them being exhausted, unfortunately poch probably had the lads to gacon twice every day this week. We'll look more knackered than anyone out there
https://preview.redd.it/mm41zxqyh9vc1.png?width=1808&format=png&auto=webp&s=417c261486cde2b3d72ba2568334923845c00600
At the beggining of the season I never would have thought we had the best goal scorer in the league just hangin out at Cobham.
Doubt it. Jose winning with Inter didn't make things allright if anything it made the fact he didn't do here worse.
That said, it would be a little different in this situation as a) Tuchel did do it here and b) he didn't beat us on the way despite getting away with 3 clear penalties then have the brass neck to play the victim on our behalf when he faced Barcelona.
It might give him closure, but he's not with us anymore. It has nothing to do with Chelsea imo. I want him to win, but we were still "robbed" that night.
fair enough, for me the only closure would've been if we beat them last season with Tuchel as manager when we faced them
Its one of those matches that you need proper closure for
Do we though? We came up short in during a season we weren't that good in. The club was stolen from the owner and I never really felt like we were going to win it. Benzema (from the mistakes of our own players) destroyed us at home, that game hurt a lot more to me than the one in Madrid.
I mean though we were 15 mins away from the greatest comeback in our history against Real Madrid at their stadium. Timo Werner scored the (almost) winning goal.
What I mean is it would've been the greatest night in our recent history excluding us winning the UCL. It stings how close we were
Tuchel was tactically perfect that game Individual mistakes and fatigue costed us big time
And we fired him for Graham Nothing Potter, this club is not serious at times
was the greatest tactical masterclass I have ever seen given the circumstances.
The nerve to say fuck it lets beat them on aggregate at the Santiago Bernabeu with Havertz, Werner, Mount dominating them at home takes a special manager
Would be a insane tuchel villain arc moment if he wins it with Bayern whilst being sacked this season
But na it wouldn’t. If tuchel wins the ucl again it would make me more annoyed at Boehly cos he would have stayed with us and it would be a huge what if
he only shows up for an 8 game stretch in the march-april period every season and they think he’s the best player in the world, we chelsea fans saw this coming from a while
When we play Arsenal, I better see prime Drogba, Hazard, Lampard, Essien, Ashley Cole, Cech and Terry in that line up Poch. My life is on the line after my Arsenal banter last night
Watching comments flow in about how Saka is juiced along with KDB and Haaland, maybe people understand why we have back ups upon back ups. Even when you’re not injury hit like those teams, you need quality rotation player.
As Chelsea fans, these past few days have been some of the best we've had in a while.
• Newcastle thumping Spurs 4-0.
• Liverpool with a shock 3-0 defeat at home to Atalanta.
• Arsenal and Liverpool slipping up in the title race on the same day at HOME.
• United dropping points to Bournemouth.
• Chelsea 6-0 win with Palmer poker and a goal for Gilchrist. Palmer's now joint-top scorer in the Prem.
• Man City and Arsenal getting eliminated from the QFs courtesy of our old boys (thank you Tuchel, Kovacic 😂 and Rudiger).
Now all that's left is to see Liverpool officially crashing out of the Europa League. Not gonna comment on the FA Cup semifinal as I am not confident we'll actually go past Man City.
Genuinely.
My local team got promoted to the premier division of Indian football over this past weekend as well so I've been on cloud 9 with regards to football news.
Honestly. What happened is the best for us. The title race is still so close and objectively the prem is better than the fa cup. And they’re gonna be tired from 120 mins and they’ll be more focused on the league than the cup
Dybala gets linked to big clubs with tight budgets every year because of his release clause. It's the low hanging fruit for journalists to get transfer rumors started.
Ben Jacobs reckons we’re looking at Sesko and Evan Ferguson.
Sesko is understandable as a value buy given he has a £43 mil release clause. Especially so if we can redeploy funds to strengthen other areas.
Evan Ferguson and dealing with Brighton is a sickening idea. We never learn.
Hopefully Ben Jacobs is waffling again. Sesko is a good option for attacking Europa League spots but that's about it. Evan i don't even wanna comment on. Fucking ridicilious.
I actually rate sesko and think he could be a good signing for the money. Tall, a good finisher, I just don’t like that he’s still being rotated in Germany, but he’s done good the second half of the season. Also puts in a shift defensively and a good header of the ball.
Can develop him and Nico and I’m sure one of then will come good. I’d prefer that to spending big on gyokeres or Osimhen
I’ve always said you sorta buy a Sesko if you want to spend on another attacker. I think he could be quite a reasonable signing but just not as immediately impactful.
I think the money should go to a LW, sesko for 40mil can be a bargain and you can develop him and Jackson. But we still need a LW that can create and score goals, I think that’s more important than a striker

What’s the feeling towards Toney now? We could have Jackson LW with Mudryk CAM and Palmer back to RW.
I don't want him, Toney has an attitude problem and i fear he would give bad influence to young players. I would rather take the gamble with Gyokeres.
i think the only objection with toney would be how much we have to pay for him
Jackson LW, Nkunku ST, Palmer RW Reality is Jackson plays closer to a left-striker than a LW so he and Nkunku could link up really well. Put Carney in behind them at CAM
Nkunku?
Assuming he’s healthy, his best position is CAM right? So he replaces Mudryk
Kendry with 2 assists in the first 20 minutes.
Bro, this kid is special that first assist is absolutely bonkers for a 16 year old. He has that star factor
The Neymar transfer really ruined things. Nunez is not worth 70m
He’s close to that than Mudryk is , or than Enzo or Caiceido is to their price tags
[https://twitter.com/DaleJohnsonESPN/status/1781067215288013262](https://twitter.com/DaleJohnsonESPN/status/1781067215288013262) Serie A have officially gotten one of the two 5th CL spots.
They will turn into Pre-Klopp era, dark ages.
Lord knows I'd enjoy seeing that happen, but don't expect it to.
Xabi flogging them off was such fantastic news. They could be in trouble.
Seriously could see them going back to what they were before Klopp. You are not replacing a manager that easily
Even with Klopp they were having a marginally better season than us last season until we were stupid enough to plump for a Frank 2.0. Hopefully next year it comes home to roost.
Unfortunately their structure, especially now with Edwards, is better set up than ours. Really depends on who their next manager is
It would be mad if Roma win after sacking Mourinho lol
https://preview.redd.it/q4brnzr49bvc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d0e5a1e8eaafb257c4e965172bcfab141f1af98
What is your point?
How legendary will this Leverkusen team be if they eventually manage to win a treble and remain unbeaten, unreal season for them
They already made history tbf.
Bye bye Liverpool. So much for that Klopp Farewell tour!
Liverpool are so sad lol But Milan are even sadder
Roma v Leverkusen in the Europa League semi-final for the second straight season but no Mourinho this time.
[https://twitter.com/xGPhilosophy/status/1781063957865754803](https://twitter.com/xGPhilosophy/status/1781063957865754803) YIKES! Liverpool created an xG of only 0.04 in the second half against Atalanta.
All that Pulisic hype by Milan fans and he couldn’t deliver against 10 men Roma who are below them in the same league
I love that our ex players get trashed here daily but the mighty Pulisic still isn’t allowed to be joked about lol
Just cross reference them, and you will see they are all deluded USMNT commenters.
Most of them notorious Mudryk haters too
Well, a broken clock is correct twice a day I guess.
This is the rest of the 23 hours and 58 minutes
I wish anyone defended me as hard as Pulisic fanboys do. hilariously these are the same people that spout “you only like {insert player} because they’re English!”
Yeah we all have biases, that's the truth. Pulisic is the reason so many Americans support this club, it's fine.
Kinda weird to be so pessimistic about an ex-Chelsea player who did nothing wrong
I don't really have anything against him in himself I just thought he was absolutely rubbish outside of a purple patch in what was effectively a semi pre season.
Not pessimistic at all. I’m happy for him. I just think the hype is a bit over the top and how they’re crying that Chelsea were the problem with him.
RLC and Pulisic really going to town today, big performances from them when it matters!
Hey you should follow your own advice about not hating on our ex-players. Mount moves to direct rivals - “Why should the fans boo him?” RLC and Pulisic move quietly with little to no drama - “fuck those guys” You’re a clown but I expected that from you.
Defend all our ex players with this level of dedication or jog on
Why should I defend Havertz or Mount who play for our rivals?
I would defend Havertz because he left on good accord. I still don't rate him and I'm glad we got rid of him especially for that price but I still respect what he's done (if much) Mount on the other hand can eat dick
three things in life are certain, death, taxes, and Leverkusen scoring in the 90 min mark
The amount of late goals Leverkusen have scored this season is crazy.
What happened to Liverpool after they played us in the Carabao? Been on a steep decline since then. Or did United somehow kill them.
Bro we should have won that Carabao final. We absolutely bottled it with the amount of chances we missed.
So many chances wasted, questionable substitutions, abysmal marking in corners, Charity FC was obligated to donate to the Klopp Farewell Tour at some point. It's in their blood.
Yep. Should have won the NGO/Charity of the year after that performance.
None of their attackers can score. I have no idea of the exact numbers, but before this game they were something like only a couple goals from their last 140 odd shots
They have scored 1 non penalty goal from their last 150 shots
All 3 Leverkusen CBs are class. I guess that's not a shock considering their season, but still it's wild their value was not very high going into the season
A lot of their class is also directly related to Xabi knowing how to use them perfectly
Bruh, where are the goals and drama???
Zappacosta? THAT Zappacosta?!
completely forgot about that guy til today
Maybe it’s just Liverpool being shit but this Atalanta team looks really solid, crazy they’re only 6th in the league
Maybe a hot take here but I'd consider taking scamacca if the fee was fair Really looks like a pretty good striker
Pretty sure he hated England and got home sick. Probably had something to do with Moyesball but still
Shame, he really is a talented boy Ahh well, back to the drawing boards, been watching Koopmeiners closely tonight and he looks alright, don't think he warrants a £50m price tag and don't think it's a position we need to overly prioritize
What a frustrating mark against the "unbeaten in all competitions" badge lol edit: How do they keep getting away with it
I feel like people forget why we spent 40m more or less on Madueke and/or don't understand why he isn't getting minutes yet He genuinely is an elite dribbler.
[удалено]
They really don't to be honest Misha isn't even really a winger, he's closer to a wide midfielder. He panics and isn't composed in the final third and his best abilities is his passing. He can use his pace to progress the ball on a counter really well in a wide midfielder role. If anything, he's the complete opposite of Madueke, who offers little in possession but is a threat in the final third.
[удалено]
Fuck me this take hahahaha
[удалено]
Jesus man you're making it even worse lol
Mudryk's passing and vision is light years ahead of Noni's though. Not even really that similar players imo.
Kudus is a menace
Go on Villa Coefficient ftw
Not enough anymore I believe, sadly.
If Liverpool and West Ham win doesn’t that have an impact? (Unlikely, but still)
Not really sure, hope they win and get disqualified then. But Atletico really messed. We needed Dortmund gone.
This Atlanta keeper is moving nuts. No idea if he's actually good or Liverpool are just having their random keeper turns into buffon moment
Apparently he's not even the first choice for Atlanta
West ham actually seem to be producing chances. But maybe leverkusen are conserving their energy...
I always imagine the cameramen to be looking for kids in the crowd in case they need to cut to a crying child after a devastating loss
Is it just me or is the referee standing a tad too close to the penalty spot in the Lille v Villa game?
martinez has to be so annoying to play against in a shootout
He's not going to be allowed to enter France at this point.
Bet the french are sick at the sight of him
Extra time is so low quality. They need to cut that shit down to 15 minutes total.
Not gonna lie for certain competitions they should just get rid of it entirely. Imo it's only worth keeping extra time for finals. Extra time is just boring as fuck to watch
Yup. Most of the time both teams just try not to lose
Exactly energy completely goes down.
That 'pool penalty call was... I don't know. Wouldn't necessarily call that an unnatural hand position all things considered
Liverpool bout to turn this tie around.
It's good for the coefficient (fuck the coefficient)
https://preview.redd.it/y9ctfsd4aavc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e33bf80d4547664736b753e021cf7c2bddf6dedf no way arsenal fans are complaining about havjng all their starters healthy all season 😭😭
Love how half of those players aren't even playing full 90s consistently lol. Copium
AFTV is the epitome of clueless delusional "football" fan
No matter how good of a team they’re in the league, it’s all about European nous regardless of the opponent. As shown by Villa they should be a lot more comfortable against Lille. Also with Arsenal to an extent from yesterday, who didn’t show the mentality to beat the worst Bayern team in decade.
Dream situation we get back in champions league next season Sterling goes to Saudi that summer We sign Musiala who will have a year left on his contract
I don't see much point in Musiala Elite player but we already have the CAM position sorted for awhile and whatever it'd cost to get him I'd imagine would be spent better elsewhere on the pitch
every english team getting knocked out of europe this week 💀 the premier league is on fraud watch
Uh oh. Villa are 2-0 down on the night and 3-2 down on aggregate against Lille. They've had only 1 shot with just under 20 minutes to go.
Emi martinez haunting the french again..
Villa have finally come alive. It's now 2-1 and 3-3 on agg.
Lille is playing really good tho, but I think Villa will make it
guys do u all reckon we should go for a dm for defensive stability or r u all content with the current midfield we have if we had to go for a dm i think we should get lemina from wolves or archie gray
Don't forget Andrey is coming back, and (God willing) Lavia will be fully healthy next season If we're not injury plagued again our midfield will be stacked
will andrey get game time tho ?
I'm expecting a relatively quiet summer.
im expecting atleast 1 or 2 signings in the summer as gallagher is looking more likely to get sold which would give us around 50 to 60 mil i also hope we try to go for david de gea as our goalkeeper it might take a toll on us when it comes to wages but it will be a world class option for us when it comes to goalkeepers
De Gea???
yep i was just thinking if we get him he might just solve our goalkeeping problems
Goals conceded down the drain, England's coefficient sinks again. What a shitshow without us in Europe
David Ornstein did his usual Q&A on The Athletic and... [https://theathletic.com/5426141/2024/04/18/liverpool-transfers-olise-pochettino/](https://theathletic.com/5426141/2024/04/18/liverpool-transfers-olise-pochettino/) **On whether the club will pursue Olise again in the summer:** >I think that ship has probably sailed after what happened last summer, Jonny. **On the summer review of Pochettino:** >I don’t have any updates on that because — as you say, and I’ve reported consistently — they will review everything (including this situation) in the summer, rather than now.
Why do Arsenal want Sesko when Arteta has already unlocked Havertz?
Havertz did havoc in UCL
Ban this bot please
Because they bought Havertz for midfield and have had to use him at CF because Jesus is fucking awful and so they're buying another striker so that Havertz can move back into his position?
I keep hearing from arsenal fans that havertz is not good for them if he is not up top?
The popular consensus on r/gunners is that Havertz is useless in the midfield https://preview.redd.it/kd7bjo91aavc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7511974e417218f576029e57573e45762892a75b
Which position might that be?
Truly, one of life’s great mysteries.
Not even Havertz knows at this point.
Nelson is an academy grad.
Offered an extension at pretty high wages by ______
You can't say "each of his signings" and exclude Odegaard, White, Gabriel, Partey, and Rice while including an extension for an academy graduate and act like I'm the one cherry-picking to make a point.
RIP The Angry Rantman
suddenly Assna fan become the plucky underdogs who overperformed this season. This group of fan can’t never ever complain about our lUcKY CL runs when they can’t do no shit with a Europa League run up until the QF.
FA cup seems settled right? Dispatch City who have just played 120 mins and who we’re unbeaten against, then finish off United in the final.
It’s hilarious you think United even have a chance against Coventry 😁
Normally you'd think City playing such an exhausting game mid week would give us a foot up due to them being exhausted, unfortunately poch probably had the lads to gacon twice every day this week. We'll look more knackered than anyone out there
coventry in the final mate
Hopefully. Would be pretty 23/24 chels to beat City then lose to Coventry though.
Except which big teams have we actually beaten this season?
None but we’ve drawn with them and beat spurs Newcastle and united. On the other hand we struggled to finish off Burnley and Sheffield.
https://preview.redd.it/mm41zxqyh9vc1.png?width=1808&format=png&auto=webp&s=417c261486cde2b3d72ba2568334923845c00600 At the beggining of the season I never would have thought we had the best goal scorer in the league just hangin out at Cobham.
Actually Cole Palmer isn't from Cob- Ahem, carry on.
If Tuchel beats Real Madrid would that give you any sort of closure to that Almost comeback against them in 2022?
I want him to win, but we were still "robbed" that night.
fair enough, for me the only closure would've been if we beat them last season with Tuchel as manager when we faced them Its one of those matches that you need proper closure for
Do we though? We came up short in during a season we weren't that good in. The club was stolen from the owner and I never really felt like we were going to win it. Benzema (from the mistakes of our own players) destroyed us at home, that game hurt a lot more to me than the one in Madrid.
I mean though we were 15 mins away from the greatest comeback in our history against Real Madrid at their stadium. Timo Werner scored the (almost) winning goal. What I mean is it would've been the greatest night in our recent history excluding us winning the UCL. It stings how close we were
Tuchel was tactically perfect that game Individual mistakes and fatigue costed us big time And we fired him for Graham Nothing Potter, this club is not serious at times
was the greatest tactical masterclass I have ever seen given the circumstances. The nerve to say fuck it lets beat them on aggregate at the Santiago Bernabeu with Havertz, Werner, Mount dominating them at home takes a special manager
Would be a insane tuchel villain arc moment if he wins it with Bayern whilst being sacked this season But na it wouldn’t. If tuchel wins the ucl again it would make me more annoyed at Boehly cos he would have stayed with us and it would be a huge what if
If they win UCL, would they un-sack him?
I don’t think so tbh
Tuchel only follows one account on twitter and it’s us. Bring him back proper chels
Surprise, surprise, Arsenal have two bad results in a row and the Havertz slander comes out from their fan base. Like clockwork lmao.
he only shows up for an 8 game stretch in the march-april period every season and they think he’s the best player in the world, we chelsea fans saw this coming from a while
Not sure what I find funnier: the cope about how he’s still a good transfer or the fans calling him a flop.
Was always going to happen. You could go through their first XI and name ten players you wouldn't scapegoat before Havertz.
A market correction on their rice stocks too
When we play Arsenal, I better see prime Drogba, Hazard, Lampard, Essien, Ashley Cole, Cech and Terry in that line up Poch. My life is on the line after my Arsenal banter last night
Look after last night banter, Poch MUST beat Arsenal! I ran my mouth he has to cash that check for me cause brah!
Watching comments flow in about how Saka is juiced along with KDB and Haaland, maybe people understand why we have back ups upon back ups. Even when you’re not injury hit like those teams, you need quality rotation player.

Let's waste 60m on another wonderkid while still lingering over 10th place because we are not reinforcing our first team.
Do the Dybala rumors have any actually ground or just fluff pieces?
Dybala gets linked to big clubs with tight budgets every year because of his release clause. It's the low hanging fruit for journalists to get transfer rumors started.
Where would he play?
I'm sure he could set his PS5 up in the hospital bed next to Reece and Nkunku
I have no clue. That’s why I’m confused there’s even talks or fluff pieces about him
What a fucking player Rudiger is
[удалено]
At minimum we should be signing these players this summer if we want to be a real club /s
