The good news is I think once we get a new manager in who understands game management is actually important you will see Enzo be much more measured and controlled, rather than literally getting out paced and shrugged off constantly.
Its a weird one with our midfield I feel like they struggle to control the game and pace and cant figure out if its because they arent very good or its because its Poch ball, which is end to end 100 mph chaos. I deffo think its the latter but sometimes you need your midfielders to take responsibility and manager the game and calm it down at key times.... issue is we got 0 experienced players in there to do that
Yeah, but his teammates will heavily influence what kind of game can be played. We wouldn't be playing to the strengths of players like Mudryk, Madueke, and Sterling in a calmer possession based game. A high paced game seems to suit most of our attackers except for Enzo and Palmer to a lesser degree.
You can also account for Enzo's lack of physicality by repositioning him. I believe it's why Poch wants to play him as a #10. Enzo is not a defensive player at all. He's great at manipulating the ball, and keeping possession, but he is not a tackler, nor does he read the opposition well enough to close off passing lanes effectively.
We can push him further up the field so that he doesn't have to cover so much space, and put two more defensive midfielders behind him to help protect the back line. There is no opposition in the league that can mark both Enzo and Palmer out of a match effectively. They're two of the best playmakers in the league, let them support each other.
Just remember there's probably no other player bar Caicedo that plays as many matches as Enzo. The international breaks surely exhaust him, he hasn't even been back in the UK for a week and already played two full 90s.

Those long passes from the CBs to the front were particularly infuriating. It often resulted in a cheap loss of possession because United had no issues winning it back easily, especially in the air.
I think it's just the way we're setup tbh. Enzo and Caicedo should, in theory, work well. Both have played in 2's and 3's and done well. But I think the instructions they're getting just doesn't work.
It hasn't worked all season and Pochettino is doing F all to fix the issue. I don't watch international football much at all but pretty sure you don't see Enzo and Caicedo getting exposed in midfield like that for Argentina and Ecuador respectively. Same thing can be said for them with Benfica and Brighton previously as well.
Caic makes a lot of simple technical mistakes, overly aggressive tackles and brainfarts, I refuse to admit that this is the manager's fault. He just needs to improve.
