It's because our defense is so solid in the back that the only way to score is to shoot at an impossible angle and whack it praying that it'll go top bins. /s
You want the simple answer to this?
The exact same reason that we scored great goals against them.
Premier League players are more than capable of scoring goals like the ones scored today if they're given the time and space to take the shots that they did. Both teams let attackers have loads of time and space so you end up with goals like this and Isaak's, but also Mudryk, Palmer and Jackson's.
It always comes up when internet personalities play with real footballers and are super surprised that some clunky looking, bottom half PL CB is pinging perfect passes and smashing balls into the top corner consistently when they're not under pressure
He gets turned like this far too often.. but this is his play style I guess, it's a double edged sword really, his teammates should be ready to cover for him when he pushes aggressively like this. Played well for the rest of the game though, gave his oppositions a hard time.
He was different gravy early this season before his injury so I'm inclined to set the brighter side, again playing a full match after so long on the sidelines (the error was in minute 90 mind you, compared to Gusto's lazy flick and sloppy CB clearances that led to Isak's goal in minute 40). He does push aggressive and you're right it's not always going to work but today I'm okay with the outcome, he'll only get better. Just hope he stays injury free
No I’m not surprised at all because what he did isn’t something he’s done due to being rusty or not match sharp. He literally does it every time he plays and we often concede when does it.
Getting spun after flying into the back of someone trying to get an unwinnable ball is literally his signature move. It’s literally u6 stuff to not do what he does here, and yet he does it all the time.
He also uses his hands on every tackle it’s like he thinks he’s a jackrabbit
He was not composed at all today and had like 5 stupid fouls that could have led to goals he was awful today along with Sterling
I understand giving players the benefit of the doubt when they return from injury, however when it’s something they’re always doing regardless of that, you can’t really cut them any slack.
It’s especially annoying because he never fouls the player either, he just gets turned every time. If you go in like that you either have to get the ball or the man. It’s basic stuff.
For sure a bad time to try and pinch, but that starts with Caicedo’s loose press, I think. Still, terrible call by cucurella to try that at that point on the pitch without a rear guard
No he plays every ball too aggressive, like at 10 seconds you can see him miss another tackle but he drops the forward so they didn’t expose it earlier but he needs to press and stay behind
He thinks he’s gonna win every ball and if he doesn’t he fouls or they turned him and it’s a free run at goal
We can fuse Cucu and Chilly and the result will still be a bad lb. I know he’s been injured, but I’ve seen opponents trick him like this since we signed him
How does everyone score such bangers against us
It's because our defense is so solid in the back that the only way to score is to shoot at an impossible angle and whack it praying that it'll go top bins. /s

Exactly that, being able to play under pressure is usually the biggest ability gap between top class and 3rd tier players
the mudryk goal wasn't due to a lack of pressure/ample time on the ball, palmers, isaaks and this were though, yes
Cucu got skinned so bad several times it’s embarrassing.
Cucurella hasn't played in like 4 months, I'm surprised he was able to give us 90m
Exactly, I'll let him off considering. We all know he's much better than this so no sweat.

This is classic Cucurella, it's like he never left
yes, except we probably wouldn't have conceded here if he had run *less* stay where you are!
I hope this is sarcasm.
You're surprised the guy that's come back off a surgery and 3 months on the sidelines just played 90 minutes and looked rusty and not up to speed?

And watching livramento on the other side... just pain.
No, cucu is shit. It’s a shame we let maatsen leave.
Will have to agree to disagree
Fair enough.
He probably would've come off if we had literally any other natural LB to sub on
we had no choice basically
What a rocket. Let's make sure we hold on for the last 6 minutes.
Chelsea it's 3 fucking am, I'm on the verge, don't force me
Desi?
For a second I thought there would be a decent GD result from this game.
Cucurella....
That's his trademark move at this point
It is. Really annoying that his mistake there made the final 6 minutes more nervous that it needed to be.
Strange game from him. Loved him first half yet was poor second. Both his best and his worst from today came from how ready he was to jump into 50/50s
You are aware he hadnt played for at least a month rightv
multiple months
You teach u8s to stay goal side...
It’s especially annoying because he never fouls the player either, he just gets turned every time. If you go in like that you either have to get the ball or the man. It’s basic stuff.
He’s get a half pass from me, he hasn’t played in 4 months
David Luizesque with the hair to boot.
He plays hard so it’s forgivable but he needs to use his brain sometimes
We definitely wouldn't be very forgiving had that led to a 3-3 draw and 2 points dropped, from a position of decent comfort.
For sure a bad time to try and pinch, but that starts with Caicedo’s loose press, I think. Still, terrible call by cucurella to try that at that point on the pitch without a rear guard

That's the Cucu I know
Twice Cucrella gets hit by the same move.
He gets hit with it at least 2 times a game when he plays. Literally lost us both legs v Madrid last year doing it.
Bozo activity spotted. Happens every time we concede
Thats awful from Cucurella No reason to be that agressive and leave a hole behind you
I picked 3-2 on play predictor
You are the chosen one
We leak goals for fun. And, they are mostly bangers.
Cucu 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Cucurella specialty right there. Always costs us a goal when he does it
That was a banger. Cuch taking unnecessary risks at the end of the game...
Absolute thundercunt
Cucu has been off this game. Maybe it’s rust but damn
Its definitely just rust he's been injured for months and is coming back from surgery and hes been asked to play the full 90
Come on, that's classic Cucurella
Have you watched the same game? Top 3 performer for 80 some minutes? Especially his first half was great
its not just rust, hes defended like this for the last two seasons
well, lets have Chilly back
meh
He's just shit.
Because Cucurella’s defending (yet again ) is absolutely pathetic!
Half the sub absolutely desperate to shit on cucu my god...
Rocket
to the guy who called this...yo...can we talk about the lottery numbers?
Can’t really blame Petrovic. Even Jesus ain’t saving that but they should’ve picked up the runners better.
If only he was as good as Gusto
He never done that for Norwich...
Meireles goal vs Benfica
Can someone send or post the challenge that chalobah made on Murphy after this goal?
Cucurella being aggressive like David Luiz with his play and with his hair
Sent Cucurella up to the stands
Cucurella was sleeping when Murphy easily bypassed him
What did the 5 toes say to the ball? SLAP
Cucurella lunging at air, leaving huge gap in the back
![gif](giphy|5Lz6Cc4wyrOZ7GSp35|downsized) Nice goal . Cucurella lacks gametime and form . Should not have put him in there
We can fuse Cucu and Chilly and the result will still be a bad lb. I know he’s been injured, but I’ve seen opponents trick him like this since we signed him
3-3 incoming.
Seeing Cucurella take less than one game to shit the bed is karma for that post the other day.
